25. State of Decay: Year One Survival Edition

After reselling an improved version for virtually the same price tag, Undead Labs doesn't have the best reputation at the moment. But, their open-world zombie killing machine is still one of the most satisfying experiences yet. With enhanced combat, graphics, and UI, this version improves on the flaws of the first release. Explore the abandoned city of Danfort, and help your settlements survive the roguelike challenges.

24. Watch Dogs 2

They may have had a rocky start with their first title, but Ubisoft brings back the ragtag band of misfits for another cyber sleuthing escapade. With a drastic change in tone, they put the volume down on dark narratives to put on a more lighthearted atmosphere. Leaving the Chicago shores for the sunny San Francisco Bay, go on a stealth murdering spree as you hack banks, offices, and random treadmills for your own selfish pleasure.

New features and a shift in tone later, it receives a playscore of 8.1.

23. Tom Clancy's The Division

Met with positive acclaim when it first released last 2016, this destiny-like shooter developed by Massive Entertainment will take you to a post-apocalyptic New York City. Laid barren after a terrible smallpox epidemic, lead the titular Division in investigating the source of the deadly virus. Collect resources around its vast environments and share the world with other players in the multiplayer Dark Zone.

With competitive arenas and massive worlds, it receives a playscore of 8.14.

2015's Fury Road was a great glimpse into the dystopian world of the Mad Max franchise. But, this Avalanche action-adventure puts you square in the shoes of Mad Max as he fends off for himself in the polluted deserts. One of the best open-world games of the last generation, the over the top action is renewed on the newest PlayStation. With a much needed revamp, the relatively game gets a renewed sparkle. This re-release by Volition Inc. also includes Johnny Gat and Kenzie Kensington's hellish misadventures.

What most expected to be another GTA knockoff turned out to be one of the most interesting releases last 2012. Developed by United Front Games, delve into a soulful crime tale set in the underbelly of Hongkong and play as an undercover cop on a mission to take down the Triads. This definitive edition adds a few bells and whistles to the game's already varied gameplay. With its visual tweaks, this deadly tour of a neon Hong Kong almost feels like a Wong Kar Wai masterpiece.

The poster boy for Microsoft exclusives and the front runner of the console racing scene, Forza Horizon is definitely a force to be reckoned with. It fuses the liberating speeds of racing to the liberating open-world genre. Set in the land down under, it twice as big as their previous titles and featuring over 350 different cars. Dynamic, and packed with content, it's worth every penny you spend on it.

Build your bases among the grim city streets, and kill enemies with their trademark VATS system.
