<h2>An Alternate Reality</h2>

<p>Rising takes place in an alternate reality many years before <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/destiny/">Destiny</a> and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/destiny-2/">Destiny 2</a>. Veteran Guardians will find new and familiar faces in this parallel world. This is also NetEase’s excuse to make up a completely new story far from the canon. </p>

<p>Players will not be playing the same Guardian from the original. Instead they will assume the role of multiple characters.</p>

<p>This includes the player-made Wolf, the iconic Warlock Ikora Rey, the Iron Lord Jolder, and the youthful Titan-like Kabr. Together, they will herald a new age of peace across the vast Solar System and put a stop to invading alien forces.</p> 

<p>Collecting Lightbearers is where the Gacha system unfolds, luring players to pull the best heroes from across the Destiny Universe. It is safe to assume that more heroes will be added to the game in the future.</p>

<h2>Class, Relic & Loot System</h2>

<p>The biggest twist to Destiny Rising is how the class system is not fully perfected. Hunters, Warlocks and Titans are devolved into prototype-like classes. This is where the Relic system comes in, a special item capable of unleashing powerful Supers and adding perks. The trailer gave us a glimpse of it with the Warlock rampaging foes with a Void Scythe.</p>

<p>It is not a Destiny game without weapons and loot. Rising will also feature an unlockable set of weapons that they can use, as well as a breadth of Light-based powers. It is similar to the original, where weapons range from Primary, Special, and Power slots. They can be Auto Rifles, Snipers, Grenade Launchers, and while this is not confirmed yet, possibly the elusive Exotics.</p> 

<p>The game will not stray away from Bungie’s tried and tested formula. It retains all the best things from the original, including its blend of third-person and first-person perspective.</p> 

<h2>Closed Beta Announcement</h2>

<p>Players interested in joining Destiny: Rising can pre-register and become early-adopters in its upcoming Closed-Beta. Beginning this November 1st, players from Canada and USA can join other Lightbearers across the solar system.</p> 

<p>The Closed Beta will include a selection of modes for both PvE and PvP. For more information, check out their FAQ here.</p> 

<p>Players will take on missions, Strikes, raids and free-roam with its PvE modes; whereas PvP enthusiasts will get a taste of its unique competitive mode called ‘Shifting Gates.’</p>

<p>This is a bold new direction for Bungie’s Destiny franchise. <p>Japanese video game publisher Aksys Games announced the release of the physical edition of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/ed-0-zombie-uprising/">Ed-0: Zombie Uprising</a> for PS5.</p>

<p>Beginning October 10th, interested gamers and fans in North America can get their hands on physical copies of the action-packed <a href="https://whatoplay.com/best/roguelike/">roguelike</a> title. They can buy the game on <a href="https://store.aksysgames.com/">Aksys Store</a> or <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Ed-0-Zombie-Uprising-Multi-Language/dp/B0C42Z673V">Amazon</a> at $29.99.</p>

<p>Ed-0: Zombie Uprising first came out in 2023 and become of many <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/best/zombie/">zombie games on the PS5</a>. It was created by Japanese developer Lancarse. The game is set in the year 1854, in a fictionalized Edo-era of Japan. And it takes on a new twist on how Western powers forced Japan out of its isolation.</p>

<p>It tells the story of a mysterious Black Ship arriving on the shores of Japan. But the new arrival brought not technological advancements or trade, but a terrifying new horror: a zombie outbreak.</p>

<p>As the once-isolated nation falls prey to the relentless hordes, a glimmer of hope emerges in the form of the 'Zom-beings.' This group of warriors has been imbued with the mysterious ability to resist the zombification process.</p>

<p>Players take on the role of these Zom-beings, tasked with reclaiming Edo and restoring Japan to its former glory. They can choose to play either as a Samurai, a Sumo Wrestler, or a Ninja. Each character has its own unique combat style.</p>

<p>"Whether Ed-0: Zombie Uprising is right for someone will largely depend on their threshold for jank and clumsy design," Leo Faierman wrote for Screen Rant. Faierman gave the game a score 8.0 for PC.</p>

Ed-0: Zombie Uprising Slashes Onto PlayStation 5

<p>The physical edition of one of the <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/best/adventure/">best PS4 adventure games</a><a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/silt/">SILT</a> has been announced for release on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. This is in collaboration between Fireshine Games, Spiral Circus Games, and Pix’n Love.</p>

<p>The Standard Edition, or the First Edition, costs €34.90 on both PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. The PlayStation 5 version costs a bit higher at €39.90.</p> 

<p>Fans of the game will also have the opportunity to purchase the game’s special Collector’s Edition. This is available exclusively on the Pix’n Love's website for the price of €79.90.</p> 

<p>It includes the physical game, three lithographs, a numbered certificate, the game's original soundtrack in CD format, and a 164-page artbook. The artbook promises to reveal behind-the-scenes details of the game's creative process, featuring previously unseen illustrations by SILT’s artist, Mr Mead.</p> 

<p>Developed by the UK-based Spiral Circus Games, SILT offers a unique gaming experience set in the mysterious depths of the ocean. This is not the kind of game for players with thalassophobia.</p>

<p>Players take on the role of a diver tasked with uncovering the hidden secrets in the abyss. One of SILT’s unique gameplay mechanics is the ability to possess other creatures. The player can control a variety of nearby creatures to solve intricate puzzles and navigate the darkness.</p>

<p>Ukrainian developer GSC Game World announced the highly anticipated release date for the <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/stalker-legends-of-the-zone-trilogy/">S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy</a> on Nintendo Switch.</p>

<p>The Nintendo version of the hit <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/best/first-person-shooter/">first-person shooter</a> (FPS) title was initially planned for a November release. But GSC decided to roll it out this <strong>October 31</strong> -- a week earlier.</p>

<p>"Originally planned for November, Stalkers can now enter the Zone a week earlier, on October 31, 2024," GSC wrote in a press release.</p>

Red Dead Redemption Remaster Arrives on PC this Month

<p>Upcoming indie game <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/great-god-grove/">Great God Grove</a> just got a release date. Creators from LimboLane and Fellow Traveller have announced that Great God Grove will arrive on <strong>November 15</strong>.</p>

<p>The game will be available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
Great God Grove will also be showcased during Steam Next Fest which will run from <strong>October 14 to 21</strong>.</p>

<p>The game follows a mail-carrier tasked with saving the world from an impending apocalypse. Every once in a while, the gods come together to postpone the apocalypse. But one day, the god of communication started a bunch of fights before going awol.</p>

<p>"With the sky splitting and the gods in disarray, who’s gonna join the Bizzyboys to help SAVE DA WORLD FROM A-POCKY-LIPS???" the game's description reads.</p>

<p>Players will take the role of the gods' new messenger. They will have the ability to absorb speech bubbles and fire them at others.</p>

<p>LimboLane, the creative duo behind Great God Grove, is known for its quirky and surreal games. Their previous title, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/smile-for-me/">Smile For Me</a>, was released in 2019 and received positive reviews.</p>

<p>Developed by Kabam, the game introduces players to a dark reimagining of Arthurian legends, where they will wield Excalibur and battle to restore Camelot to its former glory.</p>

<p>Set in a stunning world of medieval Britain, King Arthur: Legends Rise offers players an immersive experience with a blend of turn-based PvE and PvP combat. This includes a variety of activities such as raids, rogue-lite modes, an arena, and a handful of story campaigns to get to know these heroes.</p>

<p>Gamers will take on the role of a young Arthur who, after making a dark pact with a dragon, must lead a squad of knights, mages, and rogues in a fight against mythic creatures, villains, and ancient gods.</p>

This makes it important to pull legendary heroes from its hero pool, including the powerful mage Morgan. <p>This global launch was followed after Netmarble closed its disastrous beta. They had to do a full wipe and start over as players were not happy with how each update got worse. Fortunately, the devs recognized the issues and rebuilt the core foundations of the game, leading to this global launch soon.</p>

<p>The game features an original story about Galaxia. It is a newly installed system in Alfheim Online. But then a malfunction causes all words and timelines to merge.</p>

<p>In turn, Kirito and his friends find themselves lost in this unfamiliar territory. They must navigate dangers and forge unexpected alliances to survive.</p>

<p>In Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream, up to 20 players can team up to embark on epic quests. There, they expect to tackle boss raids or explore expansive environments.</p>

<p>The game will allow players to choose their favorite heroes and even some villains.</p>

<p>The trailer also confirmed that the game contains at least 21 iconic characters from the Sword Art Online universe. These included fan favorites like Asuna, Kirito, and Leafa.</p>

<p>Beyond character selection, players delve deeper into customization. Players can choose to select six distinct classes. These are the Fighter, Tank, Rogue, Ranger, Mage, and Support. Each class offers unique combat styles and advantages on the battlefield.</p>
