Big Loop Studios and Snapbreak have officially announced the release of their puzzle escape game, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/doors-paradox/">Doors: Paradox</a> on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. 

As part of its launch celebration, players can enjoy a 10% discount for two weeks on the <a href="https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/doors-paradox-switch/">Nintendo eShop</a>.

Known for its intricate puzzles and handcrafted dioramas, Doors: Paradox offers players a novel experience by transforming traditional escape room mechanics into elaborate monuments that invite exploration. 

The game’s gimmick is that each "door" is a portal to a new world filled with puzzles that challenge a players’ problem-solving skills. With interactive components that encourage curiosity, players are encouraged to examine every detail and uncover the mysteries hidden within these intricate dioramas.

To accompany each players’ escape room activities, a diverse and atmospheric soundtrack has been meticulously crafted to suit the mood of each setting, further adding atmosphere to Doors. 

It was initially launched for Android and iOS devices, receiving playscores of 8.5 and 8.6 respectively. That puts it in the list of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/android/best/">best Android games of all time</a>.

After its release on Steam 2 years ago, it garnered over one thousand ‘Very Positive’ Reviews from users. Players praised its relaxing and satisfying puzzles, but also with its brain-teasing challenge.

Set against the backdrop of real-life events, the game captures an era when corruption, crime, and political intrigue shapes the nation’s destiny. 

In Vivat Slovakia, players step into the shoes of a secret police officer working undercover as a taxi driver in a meticulously reconstructed 10-square-kilometer version of 1990s Bratislava. 

The game takes players deep into the city's criminal underworld, where alliances between government officials and crime bosses were forged in secrecy and businessmen conducted dealings in the shadows. Each mission peels back another layer of truth to its lingering mystery, revealing stories that are rarely explored, even by Western media.

They can navigate through a highly detailed recreation of the city, tackle true crime missions inspired by real events. This includes a presidential kidnapping as well as driving over 50 iconic vehicles unique to the period. The gameplay also includes opportunities to go beyond the primary missions, allowing players to master street racing, run smuggling operations, or simply escape to tranquil fishing spots.

Vivat Slovakia Debuts Full English Translation on Steam Early Access

The latest downloadable content (DLC) for one of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/best/military/">PC's best military games</a> is here. And it's bringing the battle from land to shore.

Bohemia Interactive and Tiny Gecko Studios have rolled out the newest update for <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/arma-3/">Arma 3</a>. Called the Expeditionary Forces, players can experience the newest DLC beginning November 26.

Expeditionary Forces takes players into the heat of amphibious operations.
At the heart of this expansion is the Marine Joint Task Force (MJTF). They are a faction tailored for amphibious and reconnaissance operations, developers described.

Players can also command advanced amphibious vehicles and versatile Combat Boats. These included the AAV-9 Mack Infantry Fighting Vehicle. Expeditionary Forces will also have the LCC-1 Landing Craft for sea-to-shore combat.

Another addition would be the USS Takmyr (LPD-36). An Amphibious Warfare Ship, it serves as a launch pad for assaults and maritime missions.

The DLC also included new vehicle munitions, expanded gameplay scenarios, and other content. Like Hunter reconnaissance vehicles designed for tactical players.

It also contained new missions such as the Resolute Cyclone, a single-player mini-campaign. For a multiplayer experience, players can opt for Rope In Hand.

The latest DLC is part of Arma 3’s Creator DLC program. It allows third-party developers to collaborate with Bohemia Interactive. It enabled developers like Tiny Gecko Studios to create and sell original content. Players can also benefit by gaining access to unique and diverse game expansions.

Tiny Gecko Studios also planned to share behind-the-scenes insights into their development process.

Expeditionary Forces carries a price tag of $7.99 USD.

The Expeditionary Forces release continues the legacy of Bohemia Interactive’s Arma franchise. The first game, Arma: Cold War Assault, came out in 2001. 

Since then, the series has grown into a flagship platform for military simulation. It boasts millions of players worldwide and a dedicated community of creators.

Arma 3 Drops Newest DLC

The hit tower defense puzzle Castle Doombad is officially entering its comeback season.

Developers from Grumpyface Studios launched <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/castle-doombad-freetoslay/">Castle Doombad: Free to Slay</a> on mobile devices on November 25th. This means that mobile gamers fans of Adult Swim's most notable game can finally reprise the role of Dr. Lord Evilstein.

But Free to Slay is just the beginning. Eager players and fans can also expect more titles under the Castle Doombad franchise to come out.

The soonest would be a premium version of Free to Slay called Castle Doombad Classic. It will land on PC and macOS platforms this December 12, 2024. This paid edition will include exclusive content and no in-app purchases. It is currently available for wishlist.

Grumpyface, an Arizona-based studio, also announced that further expansions are also in the works. This included plans to release a Nintendo Switch version next year. Developers also confirmed a sequel, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/castle-doombad-2-muahaha/">Castle Doombad 2: Muahaha</a>, in the pipeline.

Grumpyface president and creative director, Chris Graham, said they are excited about the game's revival.

"Our small but passionate team has worked tirelessly to resurrect Castle Doombad, a game we’ve always been proud of and wanted to do more with," Graham said. "We’re so thrilled to finally have the opportunity to do just that, and I can’t wait for players to experience how much bigger and badder Castle Doombad has become!” he added.

In Castle Doombad, players step into the nefarious role of Dr. Lord Evilstein. They need to guide the villain in defending his castle from invading heroes determined to rescue captives.

The game challenges players to deploy traps and monstrous minions across more than 70 campaign stages. It is also complemented by bonus modes and a variety of unlockable content, including over 30 unique traps and 100 equippable items.

Castle Doombad was originally launched in 2014 under Adult Swim Games. It garnered acclaim for its inventive gameplay and humor. It joins other Adult Swim games on mobile such as <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/samurai-jack/">Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/rick-and-morty-virtual-rickality/">Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality</a>, and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/burrito-bison-launcha-libre/">Burrito Bison: Launcha Libre</a> which is considered one of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/android/best/">the best Android games</a>.

Castle Doombad was later delisted as the company shifted its focus away from publishing games. As a result, it left fans clamoring for its return. Responding to this demand, Grumpyface Studios has reintroduced the game with substantial new content and features.

Among the updates is a customizable "spoils" system. This will enable players to decorate their dark lord and control room with themed artifacts and stolen loot.

These items also come with perks called "Baddie Bonuses" that enhance the villain's power. Also new is the roguelite mode "Dr. Lord Evilstein’s Roguevenge." In this mode, the game generates random castle layouts for players to defend while collecting "Nightmares" that grant powerful new abilities.

Castle Doombad Begins Comeback Journey

Lucid Dreams Studio has officially released its 2D action-adventure title, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/biomorph/">BIOMORPH</a>, now available for PlayStation 5 players on the PS Store. BIOMORPH transports players to the hand-drawn world of Ilios. Step into the shoes of Harlo, one of the last survivors of their kind. Armed with the ability to ‘biomorph’ into creatures they defeat, Harlo can acquire a range of powers to overcome obstacles and battle enemies. 

These abilities range from enhanced speed and strength to launching devastating projectiles, creating dynamic opportunities for both combat and exploration.

While it is not a <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/best/souls-like/">soulslike</a> title, players familiar with the shell mechanics from Another Crab’s Treasure or the mask system from <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/enotria-the-last-song/">Entoria: The Last Song</a> will find this gameplay feature appealing. 

One of BIOMORPH’s unique features is its adaptive AI. As players progress, creatures they previously mimicked evolve, unlocking new powers and presenting fresh challenges when revisiting earlier areas. This innovation keeps gameplay dynamic, rewarding strategy and experimentation.

Developed by the Korean indie studio 21c.Ducks, Chrono Sword takes players on a journey through the dark, gothic fantasy world of Adelnor. A land where they must traverse between the past and future to uncover its secrets. 

The game offers a fresh take on the <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/best/souls-like/">Soulslike</a> genre, combining the challenge with its distinctive pixel art aesthetic.

Choices made in the past have the potential to reshape the future, but paradoxes from the future may also ripple backward, altering events in the past. This dynamic interplay between timelines lies at the heart of the game’s narrative and combat.

Players can freely customize their character by combining stats, equipment, and items to match their preferred combat style. Indie Soulslike ‘Chrono Sword’ Set to Launch on Steam Early Access

Creators of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/dynasty-warriors-origins/">Dynasty Warriors: Origins</a> continues to drum up excitement leading to the game's release. And this time, players and fans can finally try out the game itself.

Japanese video game company KOEI TECMO announced rolling out the demo version of Dynasty Warriors: Origins. Titled the “Battle of Sishui Gate”, the demo went live last November 22. It can be accessed on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via <a href="https://store.steampowered.com/app/2384580/DYNASTY_WARRIORS_ORIGINS/">Steam</a>.

KOEI also started accepting digital pre-orders for the upcoming game.
The free demo for Dynasty Warriors: Origins offers a taste of the massive combat scenarios of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/discover/?search%5Bquery%5D=Dynasty%20Warriors">Dynasty Warriors</a>.

In the "Battle of Sishui Gate", players find themselves in coalition forces led by Yuan Shao clash with Dong Zhuo’s army.

Players will fight alongside historical figures like Cao Cao, Sun Jian, and Liu Bei. At the same time, wielding four of the nine weapon types available in the game, including the Sword, Guandao, Pudao, and Wheels.

The demo also introduces customization options. This includes Battle Arts, gems, and accessories, allowing players to experiment with their combat style.

Origins is the latest installment in the long-running Dynasty Warriors franchise. The game immerses players in the chaos of ancient China during the Three Kingdoms period. With pivotal events from the “Yellow Turban Rebellion” to the climactic “Battle of Chibi,” the game allows players to shape history.

Dynasty Warriors: Origins also marks a return to the franchise’s roots with an emphasis on storytelling and tactical combat.

Players assume the role of a nameless martial artist with amnesia, accompanied by a travelling boy named Yuanhua.

As the story unfolds, players make key decisions that shape their journey toward the epic “Battle of Chibi,” a defining moment in the Three Kingdoms saga.

Dynasty Warriors: Origins is being developed by Omega Force.

The game will come in two digital editions: the Standard Edition and the Digital Deluxe Edition. The Digital Deluxe includes not only the base game, a digital artbook, and the soundtrack. But also useful in-game items, and 72-hour early access to the game before its official launch.

Demo Out Now for Dynasty Warriors: Origins

Game Science's action <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/best/rpg/">RPG</a> <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/black-myth-wukong/">Black Myth: Wukong</a> emerged as the biggest winner of the recently concluded 42nd annual Golden Joystick Awards.

This year's iteration of the Golden Joystick Awards crowned Black Myth: Wukong as the Ultimate Game of the Year.

In addition to its top honor, Black Myth: Wukong also earned the award for Best Visual Design.

The 42nd Golden Joystick Award was held at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London. The event streamed globally across multiple platforms. It saw over 12 million public votes cast across 21 categories.

Hosted by actor Ben Starr, the awards ceremony also featured appearances from famous gaming personalities.

This included actors Alex McKenna and Patricia Summersett, composer Alex Moukala, and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/cyberpunk-2077/">Cyberpunk 2077</a> developer Monika Janowska. Content creator GeeNelly and past winners from Sabotage Studio were also in attendance.

Dante’s Ring takes players to a post-apocalyptic Earth packed with chaotic nature. They must navigate an unrelenting battle against the forces of nature during a catastrophic volcanic eruption on a mysterious and ancient island. 

Taking on the role of a daring explorer, the mission is not only to survive but also to rescue as many lives as possible while contending with the island’s fiery chaos. Players will face an array of natural hazards, equipped with fireproof armor and retro-styled tools designed to withstand the island’s fury.

With its distinctive anti-combat focus and immersive retro aesthetics, Dante’s Ring aims to deliver a wholly novel journey through fire and mystery. They also found out similar methods of exploration, such as traversing tricky terrain and carrying dead bodies. Yet unlike ‘Death Stranding’, it does not have a baby attached to the player’s body.

Dante’s Ring: A New Action-Adventure RPG Embracing a Non-Combat Approach

MY.GAMES has announced the first-ever console playtest for its multiplayer mech shooter, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/war-robots-frontiers/">War Robots: Frontiers</a>.

Starting today and running through December 4, the playtest will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One. The game is scheduled for full release in early 2025. It will join other great <a href="https://whatoplay.com/post/upcoming-2025/">upcoming titles scheduled for release in 2025</a>.

The playtest will offer three maps for players to enjoy: the burning refinery Catalyst, the towering industrial complex Fissure, and the sprawling urban battlefield Spectrum. Players can engage in three game modes, including Warp Rush, where teams capture and hold strategic points; Team Deathmatch, a classic elimination mode; and Last Robot Standing, a high-stakes battle for survival.

War Robots: Frontiers is a <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/best/multiplayer/">multiplayer</a> mech game and it is the closest thing players have for an Armored Core and Gundam experience. 

It transports players to the Wild Ten, a newly discovered planetary system embroiled in a cold war between three megacorporations. As mercenary Robot Pilots, players engage in intense 6v6 battles, building a garage of five customizable war machines. 

With over 60 robot parts, 20 weapons, and three Titan-class heavy mechs, players can tailor their machines to fit various roles such as defenders, flankers, or assault units. Special modules like missile launchers and smoke screens add further strategic depth.

With every competitive multiplayer game, teamwork is key. This unlocks additional tactical options and allows players to deploy Titan-class mechs capable of turning the tide of battle. With limited respawns, strategic deployment of resources is crucial, requiring players to adapt to the mission and team dynamics. It is not just about going gung-ho.

War Robots: Frontiers is currently available to play on <a href="https://store.steampowered.com/app/1491000/War_Robots_Frontiers/">Steam</a> as part of their Early Access.
