<h2>1. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim/">Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition</a></h2> 

	<p><a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/bethesda-game-studios/">Bethesda</a> isn’t gonna stop showing their award-winning RPG, especially for the Nintendo users. The Switch gets to taste what it feels like to be the Dragonborn and roam around its beautiful world filled with Dragons, Skeletons and everything fantasy.</p> 

<p>Skyrim on the Switch is still the same Special Edition found on other consoles. It contains all the DLC’s with new and improved textures, lighting, foliage and more. Its primary addition lies in its Joy-Con features. It enables players to use the controllers to move around and aim for ease of use. Amiibos are also supported, which adds a few Nintendo surprises in store.</p> 

<p>It’s coming this November 17, 2017.</p> 

<h2>2. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/xenoblade-chronicles-2/">Xenoblade Chronicles 2</a></h2> 

	<p>Explore a land filled with exotic flora and fauna and scale towering titans. This sequel to the Nintendo Wii original came as a surprise to fans of the Xeno franchise. Once again, get ready to dive into a dynamic open world filled secrets and monsters to discover. Follow the lives of two heroes in search of the mysterious land of Elysium.</p> 

<p>Gameplay and exploration remains a core feature in the game. Making every bit of grinding and adventure worth your time. It’s biggest selling point revolves around its beautiful and atmospheric worlds. Its recent trailers gave us a few shots of their open-world wonders, and it’s looking so good.</p> 

<p>It’s finally coming out this December 1st!</p>

<h2>3. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/battle-chasers-nightwar/">Battle Chasers: Nightwar</a></h2>

<p>A modern turn-based RPG game from developer <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/airship-syndicate/">Airship Syndicate</a> that borrows elements from popular JRPG’s of old. With their colorful dungeons and stylish character designs, it feels like a turn-based version of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/runic-games/">Runic</a>'s <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/torchlight/">Torchlight</a> series.</p> 

<p>Choose up to three heroes, and begin your journey in the town of Harms Way. Venture into the randomly-generated dungeons, uncover secrets, collect loot, and upgrade your skills with every level. It delivers beauty in the third and second dimension, with cute dialog and stunning landscapes.</p> 

<p>No release date yet, but it’s coming out soon. </p>

<h2>4. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/project-octopath-traveler/">Project Octopath Traveler</a></h2>

	<p>A Switch Exclusive, Project Octopath lets you choose between 8 characters, each with their own journeys around the world of Orsterra. It's a blend of old and new as they show off the HD 2D artstyle and demonstrate their exciting combat. Introducing characters like Olberic and Primrose, we're hoping it has the same top-notch quality we've come to expect.</p>

<p>It’s pretty much synonymous to old-school RPG, and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/square-enix/">Square Enix</a> proves that once again that they’re still making it with a tender heart and care similar to its Bravely Default games.</p> 

<p>It's set to release sometime in 2018.</p>

<h2>5. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/stardew-valley/">Stardew Valley</a></h2>

	<p>Yes, guys. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/chucklefish-games/">Chucklefish</a>’s and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/concernedape/">ConcernedApe</a>'s adorable farming simulator is still coming out to the Switch. Inspired from the classic Nintendo hit, Harvest Moon, fulfill your grandfather’s dying wish and rebuild his farmstead to its optimal degree. Cultivate crops, upgrade your silos, take care of your farm animals and find the love of your life in the quaint little town of Stardew Valley.</p>

<p>Packed with a tranquil soundtrack, colorful 16-bit visuals and a story to soothe your heart, Stardew Valley is a worthy addition to the portable capabilities of the Nintendo Switch. No release date yet, but it’s coming very soon!</p> 

<h2>6. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/yiik-a-postmodern-rpg/">YIIK: A Post-Modern RPG</a></h2>

	<p>Take a quick rewind to the golden year of 1999. Haunted by an otherworldly threat, accompany your friends in a Japanese style RPG from <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/ackk-studios/">Ackk Studios</a> where visual novel meets Western influences. It’s a surreal adventure that lures you into its six beautifully crafted dungeons. Engage in exciting turn-based battles and listen to the game’s sweet soundtrack.</p>

<p>It’s a colorful RPG journey that kicks some nostalgia to the year before 2K. It’s coming to the Nintendo Switch sometime this 2017.</p> 

<h2>7. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/cat-quest/">Cat Quest</a></h2>

	<p>From developer <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/the-gentlebros/">The Gentlebros</a> comes a cat-tastic RPG with the pawesomest of cats. Go on a feline frenzy in the purrsuit of the evil Drakoth to find your catnapped Sister. Explore the large overworld of Felingard and pounce in its fantastic characters, fuzzy story and unlimited cat puns.</p> 
 
<p>Aside from its cutesy visuals, engage in its real-time combat where you cast powerful feline spells such as LightNyan, Flamepurr, Healpaw and so much more. I think we should stop now.</p> 

<p>It’s coming to the Switch this late 2017.</p> 

<h2>8. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/dragon-marked-for-death/">Dragon: Marked For Death</a></h2>

	<p>A 2D side-scrolling RPG adventure from developer <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/inti-creates/">Inti Creates</a> where you play as a character from one of the Dragonkin. Sworn heroes with powerful magic imbued in their destinies. Choose between its wide range of classes such as a Princess, Warrior, Witch and so much more.</p> 

<p>Players can also gather their friends in a 4 co-op adventure where you topple down gigantic bosses in its dark fantasy world. It has over a hundred hours of content, and there’s so much stuff to learn especially with its unique character skills.</p> 

<p>It’s coming sometime this Winter 2017.</p> 

<h2>9. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/harvest-moon-light-of-hope-special-edition/">Harvest Moon: Light Of Hope</a></h2>

	<p>Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon are on the same list. Nice. The pioneer of farm-simulators make a return to Nintendo’s latest console. Unfortunately for <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/marvelous-inc/">Marvelous</a>, they moved on to greener pastures with their <a href="https://whatoplay.com/3ds/story-of-seasons/">Story of Seasons</a> series, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/natsume/">Natsume</a> returns to their golden years with this latest Harvest Moon title.</p> 

<p>Shipwrecked and lost, bring yourself back on your feet by taking care of a lovely farm. Its tagline involves going back to their roots. That means more crop cultivation, more farming, more relationships, and more relaxing fun. With the Switch’s hardware, it’s expected to shine with quality visuals.</p>

<h2>10. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/re-legend/">Re: Legend</a></h2>

	<p>If Stardew and Harvest Moon lets you tend to your farm animals and grow crops, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/magnus-games/">Magnus Games</a>' Re:Legend lets you raise MONSTERS. Not the blood-thirsty mangling beasts of nature, but cute little monsters that feels like a modern Digimon game without the cheesy Japanese turn-based fun.</p>

<p>Focus your love, care, and devotion to these innocent little monsters called Magnus. Throughout the game, they evolve and grow inside your ever-loving arms. Watch them unlock their hidden potential as you also grow on your own by forming relationships around your world.</p> 

<p>Unfortunately, no release date yet but it would make a great addition to the Switch.</p>

<h2>11. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/lost-sphear/">Lost Sphear</a></h2>

<p>A spiritual successor to <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/tokyo-rpg-factory/">Tokyo RPG Factory</a>'s own <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/i-am-setsuna/">I Am Setsuna</a>, Lost Sphear shares the same somber yet memorable familiarity. Inspired from Square Enix’s long line of JRPG success such as Final Fantasy and Chrono Trigger, play as a young man who awakens the power of memory restore the world to defeat a powerful force.</p>

<p>They've improved on many of Setsuna's mechanics, bringing back the same traditional JRPG atmosphere. In addition to their nostalgic battle system, new powerful gears called Vulcosuits increase your chances of victory and it serves as a platforming mechanic. That’s all we know so far.</p> 

<p>Ready your memories because it’s set to release on January 23rd next year.</p> 

<h2>12. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/dragon-quest-builders/">Dragon Quest Builders</a></h2>

<p>Serving as an alternate world after the events of the original Dragon Quest game, you have to fix the universe and start from scratch. It’s a different kind of Dragon Quest from what we’ve all known and love.</p> 

<p>Directly inspired from <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/mojang/">Mojang</a>’s <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/minecraft/">Minecraft</a>, set your horizons on open fields and destructible objects in a voxel-based universe. Craft, collect and build from the game’s wide array of possibilities, all powered by the player’s imagination. Since it’s a Dragon Quest game, the RPG elements are present but with a lighter tone. Set to release on a portable console like the Switch, it’s bound to create endless fun for the older, and younger people.</p> 

<p>It’s coming this Spring 2018.</p>

<h2>13. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/indivisible/">Indivisible</a></h2>

	<p>From <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/lab-zero-games/">the makers</a> of the critically acclaimed <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/skullgirls-encore/">Skullgirls</a> comes a new adventure where another tomboy takes center stage. Follow the story of Ajna as her life gets thrown into a spiral of disaster after awakening her powers. Explore beautiful worlds in its colorful fantasy setting powered by mythological references.</p> 

<p>This side-scrolling RPG is reminiscent of their Skullgirls series but offers a unique mythical flair. Search for incarnations spread around its world and absorb their powers.</p> 

<p>It has no release date as of the moment, but expect more news in the coming days.</p> 

<h2>14. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/dragon-quest-builders-2/">Dragon Quest Builders 2</a></h2>

<p>The Switch is starting to get some Dragon Quest love. The original Dragon Quest Builders isn’t even out yet and a sequel is on its way. According to sources, it will feature stuff not present during the first game including slopes, creating waterfalls, and underwater swimming. Additional features include a new hang glider to traverse places quickly.</p>  

<p>But the biggest addition? MULTIPLAYER! Call your friends and rebuild this magical world. Details are scarce but it’s looking pretty good so far.</p> 

<p>No release date yet, but expect it to drop anytime soon.</p>
 
<h2>15. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/dragon-quest-x/">Dragon Quest X</a></h2>

	<p>This is part of the two massive Dragon Quest games coming out on the Switch. Being the first online-only game on the series, embark on a grand adventure in its massively multiplayer online experience. Create your own character and develop powerful traits as you progress through its deep-RPG system. Transform into one of the five major tribes of the game including Orcs and Elves.</p> 

<p>Throughout your journey, you engage your enemies with its active battle system. Each character differs due to its class-based system. With these powers, defeat the evil Negel and save the Kingdom of Astolia from his demonic threats.</p> 

<p>It really looks promising but it has no release date yet.</p> 

<h2>16. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/dragon-questr-xi-echoes-of-an-elusive-age/">Dragon Quest XI</a></h2>

	<p>Compared to X, this serves as the true Dragon Quest experience without the online features. It was originally a 3DS game. It’s originally a 3DS game but ported to the Switch.</p> 

<p>This eleventh main entry of the series features a huge open world to explore, like the majority of Dragon Quest games. It’s new and enhanced third-person perspective adds more flavor the RPG lovers. The gameplay is similar to its predecessors but with an added switch to 3D and 2D.</p> 

<p>Square Enix has slated for a 2018 release date and we’re looking forward to hearing more of it in the coming months.</p>
