1. Psychedelica of the Black Butterfly

A new Otome is heading for the PlayStation Vita this April. Announced last year, it's about time for Otomate's visual novel to arrive in the west with Aksys Games heading its localization. Play as the lovely Beniyuri and watch her match wits with the game's collection of lovely characters.

Putting the visual in visual novels, it's set to release on the PS Vita on April 27th.

2. Forgotton Anne on PC, PS4, and Xbox One

Stepping into the realm of magic realism, ThroughLine Games' hand-animated adventure game is set in a world where objects have taken sentience. Decode the secrets that led to this strange phenomenon as you yourself take on the perilous journey towards home.

Despite being set in a 2D environment, the game has no shortage of style and depth. A charming fantasy backed by grand orchestral tracks, it's set to release on the PC, PS4, and Xbox One on May 15th

3. 7'scarlet

Set in a strange town, follow a young girl as she finds her missing brother. But that’s not entirely it, as an Otome game, seek the help of multiple Alpha males with varied personalities. Talk about mysteries, the supernatural and so much more as you get one step closer to finding your brother. Uncover its multiple endings, and lead a normal life in this mystical town.

Coming to the PS Vita on May 25th

4. Lantern on PS4 and Xbox One

Become the guiding wind to a lowly lantern in this atmospheric indie adventure by Storm in a Teacup. Light the way of love as you pass through each village, painting the monochrome landscapes with the spark of color. Reverse the sadness of the princess, and bring happiness and love to the whole kingdom.

A relaxing title whether on VR or out, it's set to release on the PS4 and Xbox One this June

5. Psychedelica of The Ashen Hawk

Just one of two otome games coming out this year from the Psychedelica series. While it boasts the same Yuiga Satoru-developed artstyle, the stories don't seem to be connected. Take on the life of heroine Jed in her life that's spent under the cover of manliness. Help her through the many interactions, and find your own best boy canon. It's coming to the PS Vita on June 29th.

6. Anamorphine on PC and PS4

As surreal as Anamorphine's world is, it no doubt brings real issues to the forefront. Tackling themes of mental health, depression, and loss in its story-rich settings by Artifact 5, play as the young Tyler in an emotional battle with his wife's death. Take a tour through the dark, dream-like recesses of his mind, and help him in his journey towards moving on.

Coming this second quarter on the PC and PS4.

7. Eden Tomorrow

It's about time for a VR survival experience. Coming from the capable hands of German developer Soulpix, put yourself into a primeval world of tomorrow. Take control of man, drone, or canine companion, and roam around the Dinosaur-laden deserts. By the looks of its trailer, it’s something VR fans should look forward to. Survive until tomorrow...or get Eden!

It's set to release on the PlayStation 4 this second quarter.

8.Echo Tokyo: Phoenix

Looks like it's a hell of a year for visual novels. Dharker Studio places their bets with their crowd-funded anime adventure starring fiery female protagonist. Dive into a world of Tokyo cyberpunk and try to survive the dark twists that lay in the life of a fixer. Uncover hidden truths, and become immersed in its exciting narrative arc.

Set to release on the PC this second quarter.

9. Lust for Darkness

Get a taste for psychological horror as PlayWay's adventure game signs you into the cult of Darkness. Journey through the borders of two worlds, and discover a world seeped in the erotic occult. Needless to say, this is not a game for kids. Roam around an old Victorian mansion, and unravel a story inspired by the Lovecraft mythos.

Sexy, dark, and endlessly haunting, it's set to release on the PC this second quarter.

10. 428: Shibuya Scramble on PC and PS4

From saturnine sexiness to the realm of weird. A visual novel adventure headed by Spike Chunsoft, it's altogether more familiar for fans of their last titles. Take on the shoes of a detective, a virus expert, or a weirdo in a catsuit and follow each of them on their way to solve a mysterious case. Try to make the best decisions in each scenario and try to find each of their 85 endings.

It's set to release midyear on the PC and PS4.

11. Transference on PC, PS4, and Xbox One

For anyone who loved Swiss Army Man, you'll be glad to know there's another dose of trippy coming for you....wait, scratch that. Wrong guy. Headed by the unmistakeable Elijah Wood, go on a one-way ticket to the land of weird in this cinematic psychological by Ubisoft that skirts the borders of game and mobile. Enter the "home of the mind" and hope you find a way out.

Set to release on the PC, PS4, and Xbox One this Spring.

12. Conarium on PS4 and Xbox One

Lovecraft's getting more loving with this suspense-filled adventure from Zoetrope Interactive. In it, chilling takes on a new meaning. Follow the story of 4 scientists as they try their best to climb back up the spiral of madness in the depths of Antarctica.

A wintry version of Lovecraft's Mountains of Madness, it's set to release on the PS4 and Xbox One sometime this year.

13. Jenny LeClue on PC and PlayStation 4

Put on your detective hats and get solvin' in this adorable, handcrafted adventure mystery. Carrying the old-timey looks within its sleek artstyle, Mografi's Jenny LeClue is a perfect tribute to the classic mysteries. As much as it's about riddles, your choices will also matter. On a quest to redeem your mother's name, don't leave any stone unturned in their snoopfest of a rich and interactive world.

14. The Walking Dead: A Telltale Games Series - The Final Season on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch

Telltale's version of Robert Kirkman's zombie comic book is coming to a close with the upcoming release of their final chapter. Time to reunite with all your favorite post-apocalypse survivors, and find out what the future has in store for them this season. While it was a thrill to watch their highlights and tragedies unfold, it will be satisfying to see how it all ties up.

15. The Wolf Among Us: A Telltale Games Series - Season 2 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One

They took their time, but after three years and a barrage of requests, Telltale has finally decided to bring us the second season of Bigby Wolf's adventures. Navigate through his semi-charmed life, and make more of those tough but necessary decisions. With Telltale's current streak though, some are more worried than excited. We'll have to wait and see.

It's set to release this year on the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

16. White Day 2: Swan Song

This follow up to the 2016 game from ROIGAMES offers the same spine-tingling chills like before. Apparently, details are scarce since their website is entirely Korean. What we know so far is that it completely changes the way we see White Day and it will offer a nightmare-inducing horror experience.

Playable with and without a VR headset, it's set to release on the PS4 sometime this 2018.

17. Dome City on PC, PS4, and Xbox One

An exploration of Martian that's different from your usual city-building escapades. Take in the sights of the red planet in an adventure that literally leaves you lost in space. With your choices and its immersive branching storylines, it puts in the place of stranded astronauts who must choose between escape and survival.

Beautiful and with a multiplayer to boot from Overon Station, it's coming to the PC, PS4, and Xbox One sometime this year.

18. Steins;Gate Elite on PC, PS4, PS Vita, and Nintendo Switch

The newest entry fromm 5pb’s critically acclaimed visual novel series. For the first time ever, this is a fully animated adventure as they use most of its footage from the anime adaptation. Every sweet minute of their beloved time-bending anime is captured exactly for this game.

Explore previously undiscovered routes with your pals Rintaro, Kurisu, and Mayuri once it releases on the PC, PS4, Vita, and Switch this year.

19. Those Who Remain on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch

The night is its own kind of hell, especially if you're in a cursed town like Dormont. Find your way to the light in this psychological horror game where darkness isn't just enveloping--it also consumes. But other than the imminent void, Camel 101's Those Who Remain also tackles with heavy issues like bullying, infidelity, and suicide.

20. Kentucky Route Zero: TV Edition

From developer Cardboad Computer comes a realist adventure game with a touch of magic. Set beneath the caves of Kentucky, follow a man lost inside a fantasy world with giant eagles, robot musicians, and so much more. It’s a title that packs a whole lot of potential with its stylish visuals and eerie atmosphere.

Set to release this year on the Switch.

21. Shinobi Refle: Senran Kagura

Before you Switch fans get excited, this game is, unfortunately, a Japan-only release. Tamsoft's Shinobi Refle isn't a lot different from your usual Senran Kagura title--except this time, you finally get a bit more handsy with your waifu. Meet the lovely Asuka and use your healing hands to heal and massage her hands, legs, and arms. Now you know why Takaki's a little reluctant about pitching it to Nintendo America.

22. Moons of Madness on PC, PS4, and Xbox One

And before you know it, we have Lovecraft ON MARS. Despite being an Outerspace adventure, it's actually more rooted in human themes than you think. Dealing with mental health issues in the coldness of space, Rock Pocket Games' Moons of Madness dares you to conquer your demons as the astronaut Shane Newart. Fight through the bouts of hallucinations and solve the supernatural phenomena in the derelict space station.

Coming this 2018 to the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

23. Unknown Fate on PC, PS4, and Xbox One

Come face to face with that which is unknown in Marslit Games' story-driven fantasy. Played in the first-person perspective, you'll get to see a gorgeous world come alive before your eyes. It's a game that promises a surreal experience through the eyes of a man lost in a strange universe. Will you find your way home?

24. Shape of the World on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch

One of the most hypnotic and beautiful walking simulators yet, watch an ethereal unfold with each careful step. A great example of a digital adventure from Hollow Tree Games that meshes simplicity with grandeur.
