Echo has been introduced to the world of Overwatch way back in 2018, but two years have passed and she hasn’t been a playable hero. With her announcement last month, Blizzard has now revealed when Echo will officially become accessible to all players.
According to the official post, Echo will arrive to Overwatch tomorrow, April 14.
Echo has been classified as a damage hero and has the unique ability to mimic enemy heroes. Her ultimate will give her the choice to pick a hero from the enemy team and duplicate them—including their ultimates (which charge up 6 times faster for Echo). It’s worth noting that Echo cannot die when she’s mimicking an enemy hero, and what’s more, the hero on the enemy team being duplicated cannot change characters.
Characters usually come to Overwatch a month after the announcement, but with COVID-19 effectively delaying everything, everyone was guessing that Echo would arrive a little later than planned. What’s great is, it looks like she’s going to come right on time, and is sure to keep players interested while they try to self-isolate.
Echo arrives April 14. Overwatch is currently playable for Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
