<p>Back in April, publisher <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/eastasiasoft" title="eastasiasoft">eastasiasoft</a> gave us a look at their upcoming game coming to the Switch, PS4 and Xbox One, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/empire-of-angels-iv" title="Empire of Angels IV on PC">Empire of Angels IV</a>. Now the all-women tactical <a href="https://whatoplay.com/new/rpg" title="New RPG Games">RPG</a> finally has a release date.</p>

<p>Empire of Angels IV will be available on <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/empire-of-angels-iv" title="Empire of Angels IV on PS4">PS4</a> and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/xbox-one/empire-of-angels-iv" title="Empire of Angels IV on Xbox One">Xbox One</a> on June 23. The <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/empire-of-angels-iv" title="Empire of Angels IV on Switch">Nintendo Switch release</a> is set for the next day, June 24. Take note that this will only be a digital release for Empire of Angels IV. A physical release will be expected to come out via Playasia sometime in July.</p>

<p>This will be the first time that Empire of Angels will arrive on console. It has been updated to feature ‘lush 3D graphics’ and, of course, a colorful cast of gorgeous waifus. The cast is all fully voiced in Mandarin with ‘improved English subtitles.’</p>

Empire of Angels IV Gets Release Dates for the Western Consoles

<p>Solo developer Alex Kikuchi (<a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/1m-bits-horde" title="1M Bits Horde">1M Bits Horde!</a>) has teamed up with META Publishing to bring players this new life sim <a href="https://whatoplay.com/new/rpg" title="New RPG Games">RPG</a> that promises a colorful, animated world.</p>

It encourages players to help with developing the town and boosting the economy by entertaining tourists. There are also some combat to look forward to, like fighting pirates and small creatures.</p>

<p>Spirit of the Island will be launching its <a href="https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1mbitshorde/spirit-of-the-island-a-colorful-life-simulation-rpg">Kickstarter campaign</a> soon. If it gets the funding it needs, a console version will be developed with cross-platform multiplayer support.</p>

Spirit of the Island Set to Release on PC Later This Year

<p><a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps3/mortal-kombat" title="Mortal Kombat on PS3">Mortal Kombat</a> and Street Fighter may be at the top of the <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/fighting" title="Fighting PS4 Games">fighting</a> games today, but <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/sega" title="SEGA">SEGA</a> once held a spot with Virtua Fighter. In celebration of their 60th Anniversary, SEGA is releasing the ‘definitive edition’ of Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown.</p>

<p>Chief producer of SEGA Seihi Aoki is to have new players experience one of SEGA's most important series:</p>

<p>Though <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps3/virtua-fighter-5" title="Virtua Fighter 5 on PS3">Virtua Fighter 5</a> released for the PS3 back in 2007, it has been receiving several updates over the past few years. Recently, it even appeared as a mini-game in various Yakuza games. Though some are hoping that SEGA would release a new Virtua Fighter, Ultimate Showdown is probably the closest thing they’ll have to it. At least for now.</p>

<p>Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown will release on June 1 as a <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/best/exclusive" title="Best PS4 Exclusive Games">PS4 exclusive</a>.</p>

SEGA Announces Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown

<p><a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/die-gute-fabrik" title="Die Gute Fabrik">Die Gute Fabrik</a> and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/akupara-games" title="Akupura Games">Akupura Games</a> released <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/mutazione" title="Mutazione on PC">Mutazione</a> back in 2019. After many awards and critical praise, it has finally come to the <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch" title="Switch Games">Switch</a> and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/xbox-one" title="Xbox One Games">Xbox</a> platforms.</p>

<p>Mutazione has a wonderfully hand-illustrated world and a dramatic story. But it also offers players a unique escape with the game’s customizable gardens. You can arrange your plants to "relaxing musical soundscapes." Or, collect and send unique seeds to your friends in-game.</p>

<p>A physical edition of the game will come out later in the year for the <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4" title="PS4 Games">PS4</a> and Switch. For now no release date has been set. They’ll run for $34.99 on PlayStation 4 and $29.99 on the Switch. To pre-order those, you can go  here.</p>

Mutazione Announces Arrival for Nintendo Switch and Xbox Platforms

<p><a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/abrakam" title="Abrakam Entertainment">Abrakam Entertainment</a> was set to release their new deckbuilder game <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/roguebook" title="Roguebook on PC">Roguebook</a> near the end of June, but now they’ve announced that this <a href="https://whatoplay.com/upcoming/roguelike" title="Upcoming Roguelike Games">upcoming roguelike</a> game will be releasing a week earlier.</p>

<p>Moving from its original June 24 release date, Roguebook will now release on June 17, 2021. To celebrate the release NACON and Abrakam Entertainment has released this new gameplay trailer, giving a better look at the game.</p>

<p>In Roguebook, you control a team of two heroes which will have their own set of cards. Four heroes will be available to choose from, and as the player, you get to pick which characters can create the most powerful combinations.</p>

<p>Roguebook also likes to set itself apart from other deckbuilder games via the Tower Deck. Instead of minimizing cards, the game actually encourages players to collect them as they progress, either buying them from merchants or winning them in fights; this will allow them to unlock special talents for their heroes.</p>

Roguebook to Release a Week Earlier on the PC

<p>The official PS5 Showcase gave us a tease of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/horizon-zero-dawn" title="Horizon Zero Dawn on PS4">Horizon Zero Dawn's</a> sequel. Now <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/guerrilla-games" title="Guerrilla Games">Guerilla Games</a> has announced a countdown for <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/horizon-forbidden-west" title="Horizon Forbidden West on PS5">Horizon Forbidden West's</a> feature at Sony's  State of Play.</p>

<p>An update on the <a href="https://blog.playstation.com/2021/05/25/discover-the-forbidden-west-in-our-next-state-of-play/">PlayStation Blog</a> said the countdown will launch on Thursday, May 27 at 9AM Pacific Time. The official event starts at 2PM Pacific Time.</p>

<p>The Horizon Forbidden West event is said to be 20-minutes long. It will allow fans a look at 14-minutes of brand new in-game footage, all captured on the PS5's modern tech. Hopefully the showcase will give us a look at some new robot/animal hybrids. Or, the new adversaries that Aloy will be going up against.</p>

<p>We know very little of the plot of Horizon Forbidden West. With the first game revealing what happened with the world, it would be fascinating to see how everything has grown apart from the world that Aloy lives in.</p>

Horizon Forbidden West Starts Countdown for State of Play

<p>Metal Xeno: Reborn is a remake of the 2018 title with the same name. While it already had its Japan-exclusive release on the Switch in 2020, this will mark the first time that the game will be available in the West. This also the first time it will be ported to the PC.</p> 

<p>Counting the Metal Saga games (which came about because of a licensing issue), this is the fifteenth entry in the Metal Max series. The <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/best/rpg" title="Best Switch RPG Games">RPG</a> series launched way back in 1991 and it will be hitting its 30th anniversary this year.</p>

<p>From the get-go, the game looks a lot like Mad Max, but with a special anime twist. Though you do get to roam around a desolate post-apocalyptic wasteland, Mad Max doesn’t come with giant animals, mechs, and colorful waifus like this one does.</p>

<p>Metal Max Xeno: Reborn will be coming to PC (via Steam), PS4, and Switch in 2022. Metal Max Xeno: Reborn Will Release on PC and Consoles in 2022

<p>2020 saw the release of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/crusader-kings-iii" title="Crusader Kings III on PC">Crusader Kings III</a> (CK3) from <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/paradox-interactive" title="Paradox Interactive">Paradox Interactive</a>. Besides the announcement of Victoria 3, Paradox has also dropped a reveal for CK3’s first major expansion, Royal Court.</p>
