<p>Solo developer Alex Kikuchi (<a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/1m-bits-horde" title="1M Bits Horde">1M Bits Horde!</a>) has teamed up with META Publishing to bring players this new life sim <a href="https://whatoplay.com/new/rpg" title="New RPG Games">RPG</a> that promises a colorful, animated world.</p>

<p>The official description reads:</p>

<div class="direct-quote">Spirit of the Island is a colorful life <a href="https://whatoplay.com/new/simulation" title="New Simulation Games">simulation</a> RPG set on a tropical paradise. Help the locals, grow crops, take care of animals, and turn a desolate archipelago into a prosperous tourist destination!</div>

<p>The game draws inspiration from titles like <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/stardew-valley" title="Stardew Valley on PC">Stardew Valley</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/moonlighter" title="Moonlighter on PC">Moonlighter</a>, Legend of Zelda, and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/3ds/animal-crossing-new-leaf" title="Animal Crossing New Leaf on 3DS">Animal Crossing</a>. It encourages players to help with developing the town and boosting the economy by entertaining tourists. There are also some combat to look forward to, like fighting pirates and small creatures.</p>

<p>Spirit of the Island will be launching its <a href="https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1mbitshorde/spirit-of-the-island-a-colorful-life-simulation-rpg">Kickstarter campaign</a> soon. If it gets the funding it needs, a console version will be developed with cross-platform multiplayer support.</p>
