<p>It has been two years since the release of the last Yakuza game and SEGA is looking to bring the franchise back this year with <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/yakuza-like-a-dragon">Yakuza: Like a Dragon</a>. Announced last year,  now we have the official release date for the next-gen title.</p>

<p>According to SEGA, Yakuza: Like a Dragon will be launching this November 10 for the PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 4. The game will also come with a Smart Delivery upgrade for owners of the Xbox version of the game.</p>

<p>While Like a Dragon is coming to the next-gen Xbox this year, PS5 owners will have to wait a bit longer. It’s also been announced that Yakuza: Like a Dragon will come to the PlayStation 5 on March 2, 2021—that’s four months after the November launch. We don’t know exactly why the PS5 release is delayed, but purchasing the PS4 version already guarantees players a free upgrade for the PS5.</p>

<p>While <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/overwatch">Overwatch</a> may have seen its last hero update with Echo, it looks <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/paladins">Paladins</a> is still keen on adding more heroes to their roster. Just in, they’ve announced the arrival of Vora, a ‘herald of chaos’ that seems like the perfect hero for the Halloween season.</p>

<p>With Paladins' frequent comparisons to Overwatch, it is kind of funny how this scythe-wielding character has a voiceover that sounds awfully like Reaper; the fact that she’s also wielding a scythe feels kind of on the nose.</p>

<p>We don’t know what the exact play-style for Vora is yet, but by the looks of it, she could have speedy teleportation powers which will allow for good coverage of the battlefield. Her attacks could also mostly be melee, and having her very mobile is a good balance to that. We should expect a full breakdown of her abilities within the week.</p>

<p>Despite the Overwatch comparisons, Paladins manages to set itself apart with great characters and engaging gameplay. With Overwatch 2 on the way, you can’t help but think what else Evil Mojo and Hi-Rez have in store for this shooter title.</p>

<p>Vora becomes available this coming October. Paladins announces the arrival of Vora, a ‘herald of chaos’ perfect hero for the Halloween season.


Paladins Announces New Hero Vora

<p>Though Spider-Man: Miles Morales is going to be a launch title for the PlayStation 5, it’s also going to release alongside a remaster of the PS4’s Spider-Man. We just got a big update from Insomniac Games about the new edition, and it’s been revealed that the studio has decided to change the face of Peter Parker.</p>

<p>While the internet is currently griping that Sony made the change to make sure the character looked like Tom Holland, the studio has explained that this was done so that Peter would more resemble Spider-Man actor Yuri Lowenthal. Community director James Stevenson writes:</p>

<div class="direct-quote">“In order to bring the best performances to players with our next-generation Marvel’s Spider-Man games, we have recast the face of Peter Parker. We loved working with John Bubniak on the original game; however, to get a better match to Peter Parker/Spider-Man actor Yuri Lowenthal’s facial capture, we have cast Ben Jordan to be the face model for Peter Parker on the PS5 console. He looks incredible in-game, and Yuri’s moving performances take on a new life.”</div>

<p>If anything, fans of the first game are not having it and are demanding that Insomniac #BringBackBubniak. Personally, the original face never really sat well with me; I mean, it didn’t even really look like Bubniak. I guess I can understand the frustration of some fans, because to them the PS4 Spider-Man had become the definitive version. Hopefully Insomniac looks at this backlash and makes the original face an unlockable skin.</p>

<p>One of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/best">the most celebrated games to come out on the Switch</a> this year is Nintendo’s <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/animal-crossing-new-horizons">Animal Crossing: New Horizons</a>, and players are all enamored with this latest update on the classic franchise. What’s great is, Animal Crossing has announced their Halloween update for the fall season, and it’s sure to be some spooky fun for players.</p>

<p>For the update, players will be able to prepare for the Halloween season by growing pumpkins that you can customize with your own DIY projects. What’s more, you can collect candy and change costumes, all culminating to Halloween night where you can run into other players who have also geared up for Halloween.</p>

<p>Animal Crossing has also announced their smartphone app called the “NookLink App Update”. Here’s the official description:</p>

<p>With Halloween probably being cancelled in some places this year thanks to COVID-19, this is probably the closest thing some people are going to get to it. If anything, it all looks adorable, and it would be fun gearing up for the fall season.</p>

<p>With the success of remakes for <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/final-fantasy-vii">Final Fantasy VII</a> and Resident Evil, it’s no wonder that developers are looking at their IP bank for classic games to bring to the next generation. What’s interesting is, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/konami">Konami</a> could be reviving what is considered one of the greatest games for the original PlayStation.</p>

<p>A rumor from <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wIehCmr4erY">RedGamingTech</a> (via <a href="https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/ps5-playstation-5-games-ps1-metal-gear-sold-remake/">ComicBook</a>) suggests that Konami is looking to remake the first Metal Gear Solid for the PlayStation 5. The full remake is said to be a console exclusive; and besides that, it’s said the studio is also looking to supplement Metal Gear Solid with remasters for <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps2/metal-gear-solid-2-sons-of-liberty">Metal Gear Solid II: Sons of Liberty</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps2/metal-gear-solid-3-snake-eater">Metal Gear Solid III: Snake Eater</a>, and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps3/metal-gear-solid-4-guns-of-the-patriots">Metal Gear Solid IV: Guns of Patriots</a>.</p>

<p>Should this be true, Hideo Kojima’s entire Metal Gear Solid series would be available to play on the PS5, as Metal Gear V: The Phantom Pain will be playable via backwards compatibility.</p>

<p>Admittedly the Metal Gear Solid series was said to have floundered when Kojima left the studio, and not too many people were pleased with 2018’s Metal Gear Survive. With the remake though, Konami is going to be banking on the nostalgia of several players, but I guess it would also be a cool introduction to the MGS series, seeing as the story has gotten pretty convoluted over the years.</p>

<p>Sadly, we should just take this as a rumor for now, but like I said, remakes have been all the rage recently, and Konami may just as well try to bank on one of their most popular titles.</p>

RUMOR: Konami to Remake Original Metal Gear Solid for PS5

<p>CD Projekt Red’s <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/cyberpunk-2077">Cyberpunk 2077</a> is one of the <a href="https://whatoplay.com/upcoming?sort-by=release_date">most anticipated games</a> of the year, but Merge Games and Antab Studio are teaming up for another Cyberpunk-based shooter, but this time it’s going to be heavily influenced by the comic aesthetic.</p>

<p>I guess you could say that one big difference that this game has from Cyberpunk 2077 is that the player has to follow only one character’s story, and you don’t have to trouble yourself so much on character creation element. Like Cyberpunk though, your character looks to have his own cybernetic enhancements that you can customize to your play style.</p>

<p>If anything else is special about Foreclosed, it’s the comic panel visuals that change as the story moves forward. It’s also kind of corny, but I like how you can read the sound effects when they happen, from the doors closing to every shot you fire with your gun.</p>

<p>While open-world games seem to be all the rage right now with your Red Dead Redemptions and Witcher, I think there’s still something great about games with tight narratives like The Last of Us Part II.

Instead of dystopias, we get an opportunity to get lost in their beautiful outer space setting in 2.5D. Play as an astronaut stranded after a mission and explore the perils of Titan's terrain. Kickstarter creations have found their way to success many times before, and with the beauty and immersion that it brings, it could easily be one of the platform’s next hits.</p>

<p>The N. Sane trilogy's enhanced comeback was a marvel for fans of the Crash Bandicoot series but now Vicarious Vision has set out to bring something new to the table with this fresh sequel. Sure enough, it's about time, and amid all their inter-chronological adventures, we'll finally get to play as Coco Bandicoot in our quest to defeat Dr. Cortex. It’s been more than twenty years since the last main Crash Bandicoot title and hopefully, this one lives up to its legacy.</p>

<p>The starfighters have always been one of the more iconic emblems of the Star Wars franchise and with <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/ea-motive">EA</a>'s latest venture in the franchise, we're gonna get a first-hand look at the action. In Squadrons, you'll get to pilot X-Wings and TIE fighters in thrilling, outer space dogfights. Its main draw seems to be its <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/multiplayer">multiplayer mode</a> that pits players in team-based 5v5 battles. However, Squadrons is also set to bring in a <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/single-player">singleplayer campaign</a> set sometime around the Galactic Civil War.</p>

<h2>4. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/foregone">Foregone on PC</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/foregone">PlayStation 4</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/xbox-one/foregone">Xbox One</a>, and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/foregone">Switch</a></h2>

<p><a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/motion-twin">Motion Twin</a>'s <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/dead-cells">Dead Cells</a> was a hit for its action-packed <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/metroidvania">Metroidvania</a> action, and now developers <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/big-blue-bubble">Big Blue Bubble</a> has seemingly created a worthy successor to the game's recent legacy. With its detailed pixel artsyle, Foregone's world looks stunning, their bosses terrifying, and the actions and animations, fluid, and satisfying.</p> 

<p>Clearly, there's a  lot to look forward to here, and we'll get our chance soon as it comes out on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch on October 5</p>

<h2>5. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/ride-4">RIDE 4 on PC</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/ride-4">PlayStation 4</a>, and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/xbox-one/ride-4">Xbox One</a></h2>

<p>One of the few good motorcycle games out there has finally come with a new sequel. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/milestone-srl">Milestone</a> has been hitting it big with their games lately, and many are hoping this fourth RIDE installment reaches the same caliber. Introducing a lot of changes to the series, in terms of its career mode plus some brand new modes to boot, it's looking good for the entry so far.</p> 

<p>It's set to release on the PC, PS4, and Xbox One on October 8th</p>

<h2>6. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/the-signifier">The Signifier</a></h2>

<p>Sometimes, all it takes is a story and an ominous atmosphere. In The Signifier, we get both as we dive deep into a world of tech-noir mystery that explores the realm of the human mind. We only know so much from a few of their trailers. However, with an array of puzzles surrounding the psychological and philosophical realms of reality, memory, and dreams, it should be a great haven for puzzle fans on the PC looking to immerse in a fascinating story.</p> 

<p>It's releasing on October 15</p>

<h2>7. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/dirt-5">Dirt 5 on PC</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/dirt-5">PlayStation 4</a>, and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/xbox-one/dirt-5">Xbox One</a></h2>

<p><a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/codemasters">Codemasters</a> has got to be one of the greatest in <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/racing">racing games</a>, and we're glad to announce that the latest in their outstanding rally racer is coming out soon. In this fifth entry, DIRT moves away from the ultra punishing environment of their previous titles. While their deep simulations are here to stay, we'll still see an entry that will have a more relaxed arcade feel. Their new career modes will feature Nolan North and Troy Baker, and you'll get to share the excitement with friends in the four-player split-screen mode.</p> 

<p>A hell of a cross-gen racer, it's coming out on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on October 16</p>

<h2>8. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/remothered-broken-porcelain">Remothered: Broken Porcelain on PC</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/remothered-broken-porcelain">PlayStation 4</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/xbox-one/remothered-broken-porcelain">Xbox One</a>, and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/remothered-broken-porcelain">Switch</a></h2>

<p>The sequel to <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/stormind-games">Stormind</a>'s 2018 <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/remothered-tormented-fathers">"Tormented Fathers"</a> will arrive next month too. A <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/horror">horror</a> <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/survival">survival game</a>, Broken Porcelain makes us return to the haunted Ashman Inn, this time with all the marvels of their new real-time cutscenes and expanded lore. Pull yourself together amidst all the madness, use your weapons, and find the answers to all the ghastly mysteries of the estate.</p> 

<p>Upping the ante with a new level of immersion, the adventure continues on the PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch this October 20</p>

<p>The series most ambitious title yet may have had to go through a few bumps on the road to release, but we'll finally get to see the beginning of the massive revolution. Legion promises a more emergent and varied experience in this installment, with all of its London citizens available to be recruited into the resistance. Their last presentation showed us just how much experimenting we can do in the <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/open-world">open-world</a> playground. Take London back with guns, drones, stealth, and so much more.</p>

Dive deep into the mysteries of the remote town and help the 4 college students escape the fog of haunted visions from their past.</p>

<p>We don’t really get a good look at the game yet, but we do have some voiceover from Kratos saying, “The time draws near. You must prepare yourself,” then we get a tagline “Ragnarok is coming.”</p> 

<p>Besides that, we get the return of the revamped “Omega” symbol with Nordic runes, but this time it’s blue; plus we have that sweet God of War theme from Bear McCreary playing over everything.</p>

<p>While the first game had teased that Kratos would be jumping into other mythologies like Chinese and Egyptian myths, it looks like this sequel is going to stick with the Norse setting. If anything, this could wrap up the whole reveal of Atreus’ true identity, plus we get to see Kratos face off with the most infamous Norse god, Tho</p>r.

<p>Man, imagine what the fan reaction would be if they killed Kratos off in the middle of the game and have you play as Atreus in search of revenge on Thor?</p>

<p>No specific release date has been set for <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/god-of-war-ragnarok">God of War: Ragnarok</a>, but it’s set to come to the PS5 sometime in 2021. God of War: Ragnarok Revealed for 2021

<p>A Harry Potter game had been teased to us back in 2018, but so far we haven’t had any relevant updates besides the mobile Wizarding World games.</p> 

<p>Now Portkey Games has dropped the first trailer for <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/hogwarts-legacy">Hogwarts Legacy</a>, and it looks to be an open-world adventure for anyone wanting to be a student of the finest school of witchcraft and wizardry.</p>

<p>Since there is already established lore for the Wizarding World around the 1920s and 90s, Hogwarts Legacy has smartly set the time period in the 1800s where players can interact with a more open story.</p>

<p>Not only do you get sorted into houses and attend magic classes, but it also looks like you’re going to be able to pick a moral side, from the good guys to whatever this era’s Death Eaters are called.</p>

<p>Admittedly the Wizarding World franchise has been in a bit of stumble since the last Fantastic Beasts film (and the recent controversy with J.K. Rowling), but Hogwarts Legacy is sure to keep people hyped for the magic world next year. With so much potential for the world, Portkey Games could be looking at their version of The Witcher III.</p>

<p>Edgar Wright’s adaptation of Bryan Lee O’Malley’s Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is a cult classic, and so is the tie-in game which also came out in 2010. With the movie hitting its 10th anniversary this year, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/ubisoft">Ubisoft</a> has decided to drop a trailer for <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/scott-pilgrim-vs-the-world-the-game-complete-edition">Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game – Complete Edition</a>.</p>

<p>With the complete edition, you’ll get access to DLC which includes characters like Knives Chau and Wallace Wells. While the movie is already a love letter to retro video games, the tie-in game is not any different, what with the pixelated graphics and classic beat-em-up format.</p>

<p>Though the movie is already a decent adaptation of Scott Pilgrim’s story, it admittedly pales in comparison to the events of the manga. Good thing the game looks to be influenced directly by the source material rather than the film. If reading comics isn’t your thing, then maybe playing the Scott Pilgrim game will be the best medium to experience Scott’s journey.</p>
