Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is currently in gear for its second season, and though the game has a lot of great cosmetics already, Mediatonic has revealed that they will be releasing a skin that is based on one of the most popular gaming franchises out there.
During a livestream with SEGA (via GameSpot), it has been revealed that a Sonic skin will come to the game to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog. The skin is set to hit the Fall Guys store this week, with each part costing 5 crowns—meaning you’ll have to collect a total of 10 crowns in order to fully dress up as Sonic.
It’s interesting that Fall Guys would be open to cross-promotion because there’s so much potential with these mascots moving forward. Sure we have Sonic today, but down the line, players would go nuts over skins based on Pokemon or Animal Crossing. Heck, maybe they could even make skins for other ‘non-cute’ franchises like God of War or Horizon Zero Dawn. Everyone loves cute versions of beloved characters—the success of Funko POP! toys can attest to that.

The Sonic the Hedgehog skin will be available on Oct. 14. Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is now available for PC and PS4.
