We got the Rise of Skywalker update for <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/star-wars-battlefront-ii/">Star Wars Battlefront II</a> last December, but <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/ea-dice/">DICE</a> and the devs have something for us this month as well. We’re finally going to be getting the Sequel Trilogy era for Capital Supremacy, plus two new hero droids in the form of BB-8 and BB-9E.

This news comes from an <a href="https://twitter.com/BenWalke/status/1219631782062100480?ref_src">update</a> from community manager Ben Walke:

While we already know what the Jakku, Takodana, and Ajan Kloss maps look like thanks to Co-Op, we have yet to find out the interiors of the capital ships for the Resistance and the First Order. Hopefully, with the update, we can get a video which would give us a good look.

As for upcoming heroes BB-8 and BB-9E, we don’t have that much details on how they play yet, but it has been confirmed that they will move with the same speed as the droideka—which means they could be pretty fast. It’s also been said that BB-8 plays more offensively with 9E acting as support. We don’t have any specifics yet, but hopefully, everything is clarified with the next community transmission.

Things are looking up for DICE when it comes to Star Wars Battlefront II. After a disastrous launch in 2017, the devs have managed to scrape together a game that is now worthy of the Star Wars brand. Let’s hope they manage to keep this ship sailing for a few more years before the inevitable sequel.

Star Wars Battlefront II is now playable for <a href="https://whatoplay.com/xbox-one/star-wars-battlefront-ii/" title="Star Wars Battlefront II Xbox One">Xbox One</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/star-wars-battlefront-ii/" title="Star Wars Battlefront II PC">PC</a>, and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/star-wars-battlefront-ii/" title="Star Wars Battlefront II on PlayStation 4">PS4</a>.

DICE continues to deliver their promise of free service for Star Wars Battlefront II. Next week will see two new playable heroes and 4 new maps for Capital Supremacy.

BB-8 and New CS Maps Arrive at Star Wars Battlefront II Next Week

After their success with <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/the-witcher-3-wild-hunt/">The Witcher III: Wild Hunt</a>, everyone was waiting for <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/cd-projekt-red/">CD Projekt Red</a>’s next game, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/cyberpunk-2077/">Cyberpunk 2077</a>. The game was set to release this coming April, but it looks like we’ll have to wait a bit longer before we can get our hands on it.

As per an official announcement, Cyberpunk’s release has now been moved from April 16, 2020 to Sept. 17, 2020. Here’s the <a href="https://twitter.com/CDPROJEKTRED/status/1217861009446182912?">post</a>:

The announcement reads:

Night City is massive - full of stories, content, and places to visit, but due to the sheer scale and complexity of it all, we need more time to finish playtesting, finishing and polishing. We want Cyberpunk 2077 to be our crowning achievement for the generation and postponing launch will give us the precious months we need to make the game perfect."</div>

Cyberpunk 2077 is the third game to get a major delay this week. Earlier Square Enix had announced that the upcoming Avengers game has also been moved from its May release to September as well. Final Fantasy VII Remake was also delayed, but only by a month.

While a lot of people are bummed out that they’ll have to wait longer for the release of Cyberpunk 2077, at least they can be rest-assured that the developers are working hard on trying to make the game the best it can be. At least they’re not pushing crunch culture like some other developers have been doing in the past.

Cyberpunk 2077 is set to come out on Sept. 17 on the Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

CD Projekt Red's upcoming masterpiece is the next game to be hit with a delay

Cyberpunk 2077 Delayed to September

After the success of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/marvels-spider-man/">Marvel's Spider-Man</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/crystal-dynamics/">Crystal Dynamics</a> was ready to give us another big Marvel game with <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/the-avengers-project/">Marvel’s Avengers</a>. The game was supposed to come out this May but it looks like it has suffered a major delay.

In a <a href="https://crystald.com/news/important-marvels-avengers-update">statement </a>released by co-heads of Crystal Dynamics, Scot Amos and Ron Rosenberg, it’s been announced that the highly anticipated Avengers game will be release in September 4, 2020 instead. The full statement reads:

If anything, fans are kind of expecting this already when it comes to a studio like <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/square-enix/">Square Enix</a>. Besides the Avengers game, the release of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/final-fantasy-vii-remake/">Final Fantasy VII Remake</a> has also been held back; at least the good news for that is the delay is significantly shorter—from March 3 to April 10. 

When it comes to the Avengers game, a lot of fans are still kind of over the fence when it comes down to it. We know the game is banking on the popularity of the MCU, yet we’re getting a game that is taking place in its own universe, with its character design and lore. If anything, only Kamala Khan gets to be an original character since she hasn’t appeared in the films yet.

Either way, it looks like Crystal Dynamics is hard at work to deliver a game that fans will surely love. Catch Marvel’s Avengers when it comes out for Xbox One, PS4, and PC on Sept. 4.
