1. Starfield

PCXbox Series X|S — Sept 6

Starfield. Ahh. Bethesda. Bethesda. Starfield is easily Microsoft’s favorite baby lately and they’re not backing down with its 30fps limitation on consoles. Yeah, it’s a bummer for anyone who’s into 60fps gaming. But who are we kidding? Even with all that, us Skyrim and Fallout fans will gladly step inside Todd Howard’s new science fiction world. So hit us with that deep RPG mechanics, a thousand planets to explore and a customizable ship. We’re ready.

2. Lies Of P

PCPS5Xbox Series X|SPS4Xbox One — Sept 19

Lies Of P is also something we’re looking forward to next month. Not because it looks like Bloodborne with robotic puppets, but because it’s a souls-like that is ACTUALLY good. We enjoyed our time in Krat even if we totally suck dealing with Geppeto’s terrifying monsters.

3. Mortal Kombat 1

PCPS5SwitchXbox Series X|S — Sept 19

Fighting game fans are also eating good this year with Mortal Kombat 1 coming next. This is a Reboot of a Reboot. Yes, it can get confusing, but hey, it’s MK and combat should be first. We’ve seen the trailers and we are ready to get our hands soaked with blood from all its gory fatalities. Not only that, with Kameo Fighters, we can call heroes like Homelander and Peacekeeper to fight for us. Cool, right?

4. Baldur’s Gate 3

Sept 6

It’s a good year for Larian Studios now that Baldur’s Gate 3 is getting the love and attention it deserves. From 800 THOUSAND CONCURRENT STEAM PLAYERS, sex speedruns to hundreds of possible D&D tomfoolery, Baldur’s Gate 3 is the best rated PC game this year. And good news, it’s coming to PlayStation 5 this early September. So prepare those dream character builds!

5. Cyberpunk 2077

PCPS5Xbox Series X|S — Sept 26

Cyberpunk 2077 also had its fair share of glory on the Steam charts when it came out years ago. Y’know, before it turned into a disaster. But hey, CD Projekt Red is back and they’ve fixed most of the game’s issues. This massive expansion will take us to a new area outside Night City and Keanu Reeves’ Johnny Silverhand will join us in this neat spy thriller DLC. Plus, we have Idris Elba on our side too!

6. PayDay 3

PCPS5Xbox Series X|S — Sept 21

PayDay 3 is officially coming out after a decade. Apart from GTA V, it was home to many gamers who enjoy heists and fooling around with friends. Now that it’s nearing release, we’re seeing glimpses on how the game works and so far it’s looking pretty good. Only downside is its poor performance in the Beta according to a lot of angry PC gamers. Let’s hope they fix it before launch.

7. Anonymous;Code

PCPS4Switch — Sept 8

For Visual Novel enthusiasts, Anonymous;Code comes out next month too. Fans of Steins;Gate will find this type of game familiar. There’s a lot of reading, obviously, but this time you’re not playing as a mad scientist who can time travel. You’re a hacker who has a mysterious ability to load and save progress. Meta.

8. Baten Kaitos I & 2 Remaster

Sept 14

Two JRPGs will duke it out this September, starting with Baten Kaitos I & 2 Remaster. If you’ve heard about this 20 year old game, you’re probably eligible for a Senior Citizen card. This Remaster brings out the best of its old-school card-based gameplay with its touch of modern controls. Not only that, the improved visuals and soundtrack will take you back in time.

9. The Legend Of Nayuta: Boundless Trails

SwitchPS4 — Sept 19

The Legend Of Nayuta: Boundless Trails is the other JRPG going face to face with Baten Kaitos next month. We’re already 12 games deep into the Trails series and they’re not stopping anytime soon. But don’t worry, this spinoff features a new story with fresh faces so you won’t get lost in all its craziness. You might have to check out the other games for the full experience though.

10. Fae Farm

PCSwitch — Sept 8

September is also a month of cozy titles… like Fae Farm. There doesn’t seem to be an end to farming games and that’s not really a bad thing. We want to relax and unwind and games like Fae Farm know what’s up. Using magic, we can make our own cozy sanctuary where we can even play with up to three people. It’s your own little cottagecore fantasy turned into a videogame.

11. Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos

PCPS5Xbox Series X|SSwitchPS4Xbox One — Sept 26

When it comes to farming, Harvest Moon owns the crown. Being the OG has its perks and longtime fans of the series will enjoy the Winds Of Anthos. It’s the latest of this classic franchise and it comes with a breadth of content to make our cozy hearts satisfied. We’re not sure, but it could be the biggest Harvest Moon game ever made since we get to explore five unique towns with their own seasons. We’ll see about that once it comes out next month.

12. My Time At Sandrock

PCPS5Xbox Series X|SSwitchXbox One — Sept 26

For fans of My Time At Portia, My Time At Sandrock awaits us in its sand-soaked town. Building your own workshop takes effort with the desert heat, but playing with friends makes the grind easier. It’s addicting and it has a story you can pour your heart into. It’s currently on Steam’s Early Access, but it’s officially coming out next month.

13. Mineko’s Night Market

PCSwitch — Sept 26

It may not be entirely cozy, but Mineko’s Night Market is an adorable game that we can’t get our hands on. For starters, it’s ultimately about Japanese culture and CATS. Its cute art style and fascinating characters encourage exploration as we walk around its bustling marketplaces, alleyways, and forests.

Here are other great games coming out next month:

14. NBA 2K24

PCPS5Xbox Series X|SSwitchPS4Xbox One — Sept 8

NBA 2K24. Another year, another NBA 2K game. This annual celebration of Basketball may not look very different from its previous entries, but it does have Crossplay now so you can finally play with your buddies from different consoles.

15. Mythforce

PCPS5Xbox Series X|SSwitchPS4Xbox One — Sept 12

Mythforce. Inspired by classic Saturday morning cartoons, this is a high-fantasy first-person shooter where you slay beasts and monsters in a roguelike design. Of course, you’re not always alone. With its four player co-op, work together with friends and gain powerful gear for better survivability.

16. Bomb Rush Cyberfunk

PS5Xbox Series X|SPS4Xbox One — Sept 1

Bomb Rush Cyberfunk. Jet Set Radio’s spiritual successor. They even have the original composer to work on the game’s soundtrack! 17. Party Animals

PCXbox Series X|SXbox One — Sept 20

Party Animals. Surely you’ve seen this game before. If you don’t, well you’re gonna have a good time. It’s a party game with stuffed animals that beat the living hell out of each other. Don’t worry, there’s no blood and gore here unlike Mortal Kombat. It’s just a good ol’ rumble with friends and it’s coming out next month!

18. Super Bomberman R 2

PCPS5Xbox Series X|SSwitchPS4Xbox One — Sept 13

Super Bomberman R 2. This is Bomberman on steroids. If you enjoy its explosive hijinks many years ago, you can now play with 63 other players in a chaotic arena. Just imagine the craziness inside one lobby.

19. Cocoon

PCPS5Xbox Series X|SSwitchPS4Xbox One — Sept 29

Cocoon. Annapurna Interactive’s space-bending puzzle adventure is a feast for the senses. You play as a space beetle solving intricate dimensional levels in the infinite universe. Warp between time and space and find solutions to this cosmic cutie.

20. RIN: The Last Child

PCPS5Xbox Series X|SSwitchPS4Xbox One — Sept 21

We end this list with RIN: The Last Child. If you feel like Silksong is taking too long to come out, this Metroidvania might fill that hole for you. RIN’s spellbinding world feels like you’re playing Hollow Knight, but with visuals from Ori and the Blind Forest. Like all metroidvanias, this one requires patience to conquer.
