<p>Back in the 90s, Apogee Entertainment was an indie game developer that had launched several franchises from Duke Nukem to <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/shadow-warrior" title="Shadow Warrior on PC">Shadow Warrior</a>, and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/max-payne" title="Max Payne on PC">Max Payne</a>. Admittedly, the studio hasn’t been as big as it once was, but thanks to a team-up with <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/orangepixel" title="OrangePixel">OrangePixel</a>, Apogee is back and has just announced a relaunching of the studio starting with the release of the game, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/residual" title="Residual on PC">Residual</a>.</p>

<p>Since the 80s, Apogee Entertainment has developed and published several franchises. Aside from Duke Nukem and Shadow Warrior, they helped out in games like Max Payne and Wolfenstein 3D.</p>

<p>Recently, the company had issues with <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/gearbox-software" title="Gearbox Software">Gearbox</a> in the Switch release of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/duke-nukem-3d-20th-anniversary-world-tour" title="Duke Nukem 3D 20th Anniversary World Tour">Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary Edition World Tour</a>. But with this new title,  Apogee sparks their return to indie publishing.</p> 

<p>They just  released  a full showcase teasing their upcoming games. It showed off both new titles and remasters of Apogee’s greatest hits. We don’t have any list of titles yet, but the studio does promise to reveal more in the coming months.</p>

<p><a href="https://whatoplay.com/post/dying-light-2" title="Dying Light 2 development process">Though we don’t have a release date for Dying Light 2 yet</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/techland" title="Techland">Techland</a> is teaming up with <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/facepunch-studios" title="Facepunch Studios">Facepunch Studios</a> for a limited in-game crossover event.</p>

<p>The Rust bundle will be available for free for Dying Light players. It will include some new skins and weapons inspired by the former. Sadly, this crossover will only be available for PC. But, the devs promise that the event will also be coming to consoles sometime next month.</p>

<p>The Dying Light x Rust crossover takes place from April 19—26 for the PC. The crossover event will also be available for Xbox One and PS4 sometime mid-May.</p>

Dying Light Announces Crossover with Rust

<p>COVID-19 itself is a disease on its own, but the pandemic has also been affecting people’s mental health and depression. To raise awareness about this, DisneyXD star and Youtuber Parker Coppins a.k.a. Parker Games has decided to hold a fundraiser called with a dash of David Blaine’s tests of endurance.</p>

<p>For ten days, Parker Games will isolate himself in a 12’ x ‘9 plexi-box in his studio for 10 days. ParkerGames will have no physical contact with anyone. But, he will be live-streaming his experience and playing video games for his 1M followers. Parker hopes to encourage his watchers to donate to Take This, a non-profit org that specializes in mental health for gamers.</p>

<p>This is the latest release from publishers Versus Evil. They were recently under fire for abandoning their buggy Switch port of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/pillars-of-eternity-complete-edition" title="Pillars of Eternity on Switch">Pillars of Eternity</a>. Hopefully, this hasn't affected the results of their latest project.</p>

With Ashwalkers, the emphasis is on survival. Try to find food and keep your group from tearing itself apart. You'll also face some ‘moral dilemmas’ with each decision being crucial to the end of the campaign.</p>

<p>Each playthrough runs for about 2 hours. But you'll have fun trying to land all 34 different endings.</p>

<p>GetsuFumaDen was a side-scrolling <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/best/action" title="Best Switch Action Games">action</a> game released by <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/konami" title="Konami">Konami</a> way back in 1987. Though it was exclusive to Japan, it featured in other game franchises like Castlevania and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.</p>  

<p>The Switch teaser is kind of tame. But, Konami has released a preview that is much more intense:</p>

<p><a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/best/roguelike" title="Best Switch Roguelike Games">Roguelike</a> games usually focus on the persistence of pulling off a clean run without dying. Meanwhile, rogue-lites are generally easier, focusing more on reaching the end of a level and making some progress.</p>

<p>An Early Access version of Undying Moon will be available on Steam this May.</p>

GetsuFumaDen: Undying Moon Announced for the Nintendo Switch

<p>Last February, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/square-enix" title="Square Enix">Square Enix</a> showed off the <a href="https://whatoplay.com/post/ff7-remake-intergrade" title="Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade to Feature New Episode with Yuffie">upgraded version</a> of the Final Fantasy VII Remake for PS5 called <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/final-fantasy-vii-remake" title="Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade on PS5">Intergrade</a>. It’s going to come with an extra episode with Yuffie Kisaragi being a playable character. Now, Square has just given us a new look at Yuffie’s model and has introduced her voice actress Suzie Yeung.</p>

<p>Much like the other characters in the game, Yuffie is pretty much inspired by her original design from the 90s. Her ally in the episode, Sonon Kusakabe, is an entirely new character created for Intergrade.</p>

<p>In the original Final Fantasy VII, Yuffie is an optional character, which means you could finish the game without her joining your party. It looks like she will play a more major part in Remake, but we’ll have to wait and see to find out.</p>

<p>Yuffie is the youngest member of the party, and you can see some of her cockiness in the teaser. The game focuses on her agility as a ‘ninja’ as she goes around areas much more creatively than Cloud or anyone else in the party.</p>

Though the game isn’t really triple-A, it is set to come to the current generation of consoles.</p>

<p>The game basically has you take control of Bibi or Tina. You'll have a selection of 10 different horses that you can ride across an open game world. Not only do you ride horses, but you also get to clean and care for them; plus, you can take pictures of them around the scenery.</p>

<p>Bibi & Tina at the Horse Farm also comes with 18 riding missions, which will have players doing timed challenges and races.</p>

<p>The game is based on the animated Bibi & Tina series which itself is based on a radio drama Bibi Blocksberg which started back in the 90s. A German live-action series had also recently launched on Amazon Prime Video last year.</p>

<p>Bibi & Tina at the Horse Farm is set to come to the PS5 in North America on May 11. The game is also available now for the Nintendo Switch and PS4. Bibi & Tina at the Horse Farm is Coming to the PS5

<p><a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/dr-bloc" title="Dr BLoC">Dr. Bloc</a> had originally given gamers a look at their upcoming VR title <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/straylight" title="Straylight on PC">Straylight</a> last year. Now, the game is ready to launch in the third quarter of 2021. With the announcement also comes a new look at the game.</p>

<p>Straylight makes use of the Fling Engine which is designed to make moving in VR more comfortable. Not only will players be able to marvel around the different galaxies and visuals in the game, but they also get to navigate them with ease.</p>

<p>Straylight is also set to launch on platforms Oculus Quest and Quest 2, Oculus Rift, Valve Index, HTC Vive, and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/straylight" title="Straylight on PS4">PlayStation VR</a>.</p>

<p>VR has always been a playground for stunning and immersive visuals. Straylight gives players that same stunning experience, with an emphasis on comfortable navigation. Though the game is yet to get a release date, you can check it out on Steam Early Access via a <a href="https://store.steampowered.com/app/1215000/STRAYLIGHT/" title="Straylight Free Demo on Steam">free demo</a>.</p>

<p>No official release date has been set for Straylight. But, it's expected to launch Q3 of 2021 for the Oculus Quest and Quest 2, Oculus Rift, PSVR, Valve index, and HTC Vive.</p>
