<h2>10. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/final-fantasy-xii-the-zodiac-age/">Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age</a></h2>

<p><a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/square-enix/">Square Enix</a> is home to many memorable JRPGs. With Final Fantasy VII Remake’s release drawing close, the rest of the FF titles don’t get enough praise. </p>

<p>XII’s massive shift to real-time from the usual traditional turn-based FF combat opened new doors for the future of the series. Players are no longer constrained by waiting for their turn and stressing about random encounters. </p>

<p>In The Zodiac Age, it further improved the original’s gameplay by introducing the International Zodiac System. An overhaul which enables players to customize their favorite characters’ Zodiac Signs and change their Jobs as they see it. Not only that, players can change between characters on the fly.</p>  

<p>In this definitive version of the XII experience, players can enjoy Vaan and his friends’ journey once more, without the clunky combat and a few upgrades. However, the story remains the same. It receives a playscore of 8.35 </p>

<h2>9. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/monster-hunter-world/">Monster Hunter: World</a></h2>

<p><a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/capcom/">CAPCOM</a>’s Monster Hunter doesn’t really fit in the JRPG scene. It has no long-winded storyline or any quirky characters as party members. Instead, it takes lowly hunters into a boss-rush slash heavy grindfest that constantly pushes you to upgrade your weapons and equipment to its full potential.</p>

<p>What separates Monster Hunter from <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/jrpg/" title="List of all JRPGs on PC">most JRPGs</a> is its action-oriented focus. You’ll be spending most of your time hunting monsters and wearing their skins as armor. Sounds morbid, yeah, but that’s how the franchise worked for almost a decade. </p>

<p>In World, the massive amount of content is unlike any Monster Hunter game ever released. More monsters, new worlds and not to mention the recent <a href="">Iceborne expansion</a> that almost felt like a whole new game. It’s one of CAPCOMs strongest achievement of last year and it keeps getting more content in the months to come. A playscore of 8.36 </p>

<h2>8. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/valkyria-chronicles-4/">Valkyria Chronicles 4</a></h2>

<p>JRPGs grounded on reality are always welcome. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/sega/">SEGA</a>’s animated take on the tactics and tragedies of war. The fourth main entry to their strategy RPG series. Building their legacy out of tactical freedom of their gameplay, Valkyria Chronicles 4 doesn't stray too far from the spirit of their first game. </p>

<p>A return to roots with new characters and the same cel-shaded graphics in a brand new engine, its small changes bring in just enough elements to make the game like new.</p>

<p>In this sequel, it refines the details of its addictive turn-based combat, while staying true to its creative and mature storytelling. It receives a playscore of 8.37</p>


<h2>7. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/zwei-the-ilvard-insurrection/">Zwei: The Ilvard Insurrection</a></h2>

<p><a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/nihon-falcom-corporation/">Nihon Falcom</a>’s steampunk-ish JRPG takes you high into the skies. After suffering from a mysterious plane crash, get lost into its aerial paradise where magic and technology go hand in hand together. </p>

<p>The Ilvard Insurrection lets players control two unlikely characters. Ragna, the treasure hunter and Alwen, the vampire princess. Together they go on a typical JRPG adventure fulfilling quests and meeting strange residents in this kingdom of Ilvard. </p>

<p>Also known as Zwei II, this PC release was greatly expanded from its Japanese version. Adding English voice acting that breathes new life into the story. The game’s unique food-based mechanic also offers more room for replay value aside from the monster slaying grind. </p>

<p>It’s league’s better than the first Zwei title and deserves more attention to the JRPG scene. A playscore of 8.43</p>


<h2>6. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/tales-of-berseria/">Tales Of Berseria</a></h2>

<p>It’s not a JRPG list without one of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/bandai-namco-studios/">Bandai Namco</a>’s long-running Tales games. Since 1995, the Tales series continue to push the limits of their storytelling and combat. Each release builds upon the previous installment’s shortcomings and makes it better.</p>

<p>In Tales of Berseria, follow a band of heroes in a Kingdom corrupted by demonic disease. It’s the sixteenth entry to the ever growing Tales series and it serves as a prequel to Zestiria.</p>

<p>It’s still an RPG set in a third-person perspective. It still shares the same combat like most of the previous Tales titles, although with a little bit of modern tweaking. Its signature Linear Motion Battle System presents a dazzling array of fast-paced combat with every enemy encounter. It’s upcoming Tales of Arise will further improve the gameplay, story and world-building like never before. Berseria receives a playscore of 8.55 </p>

<h2>5. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/ni-no-kuni-wrath-of-the-white-witch-remastered/">Ni No Kuni: Wrath Of The Witch Remastered</a></h2>

<p>Straight from the desks of renowned Studio Ghibli animators, Level-5’s wholesome fantasy adventure presents nothing but charm and color to the overgrown palette of grim JRPGs.</p> 

<p>This Remastered version of the <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps3/ni-no-kuni/">2013 original</a> feels new, yet familiar. Explore the magical worlds with Oliver and his friends in High Definition. Its quality is now on par with its sequel, Revenant Kingdom. However, as a mere Remaster, this version has no added content aside from its improved visuals. </p>

It was hailed as one of the <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps3/best/jrpg">best JRPGs on the PlayStation 3</a>. It was praised for its cheerful storytelling, vibrant atmosphere and its fantastic soundtrack by Joe Hisaishi himself. It’s the kind of game for some sweet and temporary escapism. A playscore of 8.59 </p>

<h2>4. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/the-legend-of-heroes-trails-of-cold-steel-ii/">The Legend Of Heroes: Trails Of Cold Steel II</a></h2>

<p>Nihom Falcom’s beloved The Legend of Heroes is a universe in its own right. Originally from the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 3, this JRPG continues to embrace the signature turn-based battles the genre was known for.</p>

<p>As a direct sequel to the original Trails of Cold Steel, it begins one month after its ending. It takes players once again into the shoes of Rean Schwarzer and his adventures in the middle of a crossfire between a gripping civil war. </p>

<p>Unlike the first game and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/the-legend-of-heroes-trails-of-cold-steel-iii/">Cold Steel III</a>, the main character doesn’t succumb to attending military classes. Instead, it takes players into a traditional ‘traveling around the world’ journey with a cast of memorable characters. After all, it’s a JRPG and what’s not to love about adventures? A playscore of 8.59

<h2>3. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/the-legend-of-heroes-trails-in-the-sky-the-3rd/">The Legend Of Heroes: Trails In The Sky 3rd</a></h2>

<p>Normally, we’d separate similar series in our rankings, but Nihom Falcom’s The Legend of Heroes series has two different stories set in one universe. Each veering away from its main premise. Just like Final Fantasy, every Legend of Heroes has a different character to play and a whole new chapter to uncover. </p>

<p>In Trails In The Sky 3rd, it takes place waaaay before Cold Steel and it involves the series’ iconic Septian Priest, Kevin Graham, in his quest to recover a mysterious artifact hidden in the world. It takes place after the events of the Second Chapter’s Estelle and Joshua. </p>

<p>The turn-based gameplay is still similar to its predecessors, with the addition of a few extra elements in combat. But combat isn’t Trails in the Sky’s strongest aspect, it’s in its characters and story. Fans of the series are expected to meet a few returning heroes and villains from the previous entries. A playscore of 8.59</p>

<h2>2. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/dragon-questr-xi-echoes-of-an-elusive-age/">Dragon Quest XI: Echoes Of An Elusive Age</a></h2>

<p>Square Enix’s latest Dragon Quest release was considered as the best of the series yet and it was one of the strongest contenders for <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/best/2019/" title="best PC games of the year 2019">Game of the Year</a> last year. XI excels with its fantastic presentation of living the JRPG fantasy. </p>

<p>Save the world of Erdrea and take on the role of the brave Hero as you explore this magical world full of monsters to slay and secrets to discover. For added gimmick, players can switch between 2D and 3D visuals on the fly before any combat encounter. </p>

<p>It was mostly celebrated for its heartwarming story and its overwhelming amount of memorable characters. Unlike the Definitive Edition, the PC version lacks a few bonus content that adds unique scenarios for your party members. Nonetheless, it’s still an adventure worth taking. It has a playscore of a 8.73 </p>

<h2>1. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/dragon-quest-builderstm-2/">Dragon Quest Builders 2</a></h2>

<p>The third and final Square Enix title on this list. Square’s open-world JRPG has a lot in store for die-hard sandbox fans and JRPG veterans. It’s the ideal platform for players who love <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/minecraft/">Minecraft</a>, but want more of that choose-your-own-adventure type of journey. </p>

<p>It’s a sequel to 2016’s <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/dragon-quest-heroes-2/">Dragon Quest</a> spin-off which takes us into a whole new Dragon Quest universe where we rebuild it’s fallen world after an apocalypse. </p>

<p>This sequel features the addition of a few interesting biomes and fancy gameplay improvements that wouldn’t be intimidating for new and young players. Despite it being a sandbox game with unlimited possibilities, it’s still a JRPG. You build your character, customize him from top to bottom and let your hero explore a massive open world. It has a playscore of 8.74</p>

<h2>10. Emily from <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/dishonored-2/" title="Dishonored 2 PC Game Reviews">Dishonored 2</a></h2>


<p>Emily could've just as well stuck to being the damsel in distress slash moral compass in Corvo Attano's world of assassin vengeance. But, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/arkane-studios/">Arkane Studios</a> showed us that they don't take criticism lightly. After being panned for their portrayal of women, or lack thereof, they showed us all, turning their sequel into a showcase of exactly what the former Empress of the Isles could do. </p>

<p>Through it we see Emily Kaldwin grow from the young woman she was in the first game: taking up the throne, training under Corvo Attano, and then putting it all to practice in her fight to take back the throne. </p>

<p>While we ultimately have the choice on how much chaos we bring, her journey still offers a unique perspective--basically growing out of her pretty, privileged background, and opening her eyes to the bigger picture of becoming the Queen her people deserves. </p>

<p>Emily isn't the first playable character in videogame history, but she remains a shining example for the kind of diversity in games. Dishonored 2 gets a playscore of 8.47 on the PC, 8.85 on the PS4, and 8.46 on the Xbox One.</p>


<h2>9. Anicia from <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/a-plague-tale-innocence/" title="A Plague Tale Innocence on PC">A Plague Tale: Innocence</a></h2>

<p>Clearly, badassery isn't the only thing that makes a woman.</p>

<p>While there’s a bit of magic in the sad world of plague tale innocence, anicia brings her own brand of luminosity in her role as big sister to the young, powerful, yet also vulnerable character Hugo. </p>

<p><a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/asobo-studio/">Asobo Studios</a> is known for their adaptation of movies into games and even though this is a new IP, their expertise in cinematic themes continues on, especially in how they handled the two main characters’ complex story. </p>

<p>Anicia isn’t the center of the story. She’s not the one imbued with magical mystery, but it’s exactly her humanity that makes her the hero of the story. Her nurturing and protective instincts drive to her keep forward, attempting to survive the circumstances and motivating us to do the same. </p>

<p>A Plague Tale Innocence gets a playscore of 8.67 on the PS4, 8.64 on the PC, and 8.50 on the Xbox One

<h2>8. Clementine from <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/the-walking-dead-collection-the-telltale-series/" title="The Walking Dead Collection A Telltale Series PS4">The Walking Dead Collection - The Telltale Series</a></h2>

<p>Pretty much the collective little sister for fans of the Walking Dead series, Telltale brought us indescribable joy with Clementine’s rise from vulnerable child into a whole person in her own right</p>

<p>The Walking Dead Collection spans all four seasons of the popular Telltale adaptation, starting from the first in 2012. And each one is important in telling the tale of Clementine’s journey from the protected under Lee, to the hardy protector to Alvin Jr. </p>

<p>The post-apocalypse is unforgiving for everybody, but with her, we witnessed it take away her innocence bit by bit. Through it all, she remained a shining beacon of hope, veering away from anger and disillusionment, and instead walking the path of growth and maturity. 
</p>
<p>A young, developed character--who didn’t suffer the pitfalls of sexualization-- Clementine’s was a breakthrough videogame representation and  it’s one you can witness yourself on the PS4, with a playscore of 8.62.

<h2>7. 2B from <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/nier-automata/" title="Nier Automata for PlayStation 4">NieR: Automata</a></h2>


<p>You don’t look at a character like 2B and think she’s the icon of empowerment. </p>

<p>Yoko Taro pretty much admitted that the way the character looks in-game is because, well, He Just Likes Girls.  Female empowerment was not at the heart of 2B’s conception, but, well, she IS technically a girl, albeit a robot one, who just happens to have a sexy butt and a pair of heels. </p>

<p>Looks aside, 2B’s journey is an emotional one. Despite starting out as a cold, unfeeling robot, there’s a heart within her--one that’s continually aching for escape from her cruel programming. Nier is at its core an existentialist adventure, and 2B is front and center: growing out of her cold shell, learning how to communicate, how to be kind, and even how to love. </p>

<p>Sure, she’s still the ultimate fan service, but apart from the combat impracticality, she’s hella strong and she’s definitely working it. 
3++. NieR: Automata receives playscores of 8.96 on the Xbox One, 8.94 on the PS4, and 8.20 on the PC.

<p>Even while they felt like market demands for female leads were low, Team Ninja still stuck with it--all to bring justice to an idea that Senua plays a central part in. Although she’s based on a Celtic goddess and created to capture the spirit of strong Celtic woman’s spirit, Senua’s power as a female lead comes directly from her vulnerability. 
</p>

<p>Built into her story are struggles with a necrotic arm, and most especially, psychosis. Living in Senua’s shoes isn’t just a look through a fascinating culture, it’s also a look into life with mental illness--a struggle that she fights through bravely, along with all the dangers that come her way. </p>
<p>Senua’s is an important story to tell, and with Team Ninja’s efforts, it’s also an amazing experience. Appearing on Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, it gets playscores of 8.88 on the PS4, 8.63 on the PC, and 8.57 on the Xbox One</p>


<h2>5. Bayonetta from <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/bayonetta/" title="Bayonetta for PS4">Bayonetta</a> and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/bayonetta-2/" title="Bayonetta 2 Switch Reviews">Bayonetta 2</a></h2>


<p>If there’s one thing you can’t blame a woman for, it’s being sexy af and owning it every step of the way. </p>

<p>Since her first appearance in 2009, Bayonetta has been captivating audiences from one console generation to the next, and she’s even found herself exclusively on <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/" title="List of all Switch games">Nintendo’s latest platform</a>.</p> 

<p>Being provocative may be ingrained into her DNA, but even with seductive charm and on the nose moves like the Umbral climax, Bayonetta is never trashy. She’s just one classy witch who’s just out to eviscerate every single angel in her way. </p>

<p>She knows what she’s got and flaunting it. And that’s what makes her such a strong candidate for powerful female leads. While she might be present in the fantasies of some men, what she could be for women is on another level. </p>

<p>Unlike the meek, docile characters that some people feel women should be, she becomes THE power fantasy to aspire to--whipping out her moves, and working out her intimidating aura on anyone--whether man, woman, or monster. </p>

<p>Being in Bayonetta’s heels will definitely feel good, and you can experience it yourself, with Bayonetta on the PC with a playscore of 8.85, and the Switch Collection Bayonetta + Bayonetta 2 with a playscore 8.81</p>


<h2>4. Madeline from <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/celeste/" title="Celeste for PC">Celeste</a></h2>

<p>Our fledgling mountain climber looks young but she’s definitely all woman</p>. 

<p>Surrounded by a candy-colored palette and delivered with exquisite pixel detail, you wouldn’t expect much emotion from Madeline’s trek to the top of Mount Celeste. If we learned anything from Ori and the Blind Forest though, it’s that simple, sidescrolling platformers could deliver just as much heartbreak as any other game. </p>

<p>Crafted from the fabric as Hellblade, Madeline’s journey is one that teaches us a lot about the struggles of a troubled mind. We may not always be grappling through snowy cliffs and mossy mountain edges, but her grapples with anxiety and depression could easily strike a chord with the many who’ve been through the same.</p>

<p>We learn to overcome them--punishing platforming, disturbing thoughts, and all that-- together.But if there’s one thing she tells us, it’s that whatever we’re going through, we’re not alone.</p>

<p>Celeste receives a playscore of 9.19 on the PC, 8.91 on the PS4, 8.69 on the Switch, and 8.56 on the Xbox One</p>



<h2>3. Lara Croft from <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/rise-of-the-tomb-raider/" title="Rise of the Tomb Raider for PC">Rise of the Tomb Raider</a></h2>


<p>Who could forget? As one of the first female characters to be at the helm of her own franchise, she’s regarded  as one of the great pioneers of our time. Lara Croft is a smart, agile, and gorgeous woman who could do action as well as the next man. We’ve known her since her pointy polygon days, but the changes really came with the reboot series. </p>

<p>Apart from shedding off the blocky look for a more realistic model, the character itself also evolved. She moves away from being a poster girl for unrealistic standards and into something a little more relatable. </p>

<p>Her origin story shows her pampered archeologist days to her accidental stumble into survivor mode. Adventure became her obsession, and we often see her difficulty with decisions. She’s more emotional, a lot less sure, and definitely a lot less sassy. But what’s clear is, Lara continues to be an icon to this day, and there’s more to her story yet. </p>

<p>Rise of the Tomb Raider gets the highest marks with playscores of 8.9 on the PS4, 8.86 on the PC, and 8.78 on the Xbox One.</p>


<h2>2. Aloy from <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/horizon-zero-dawn/" title="Horizon Zero Dawn for PlayStation 4">Horizon Zero Dawn</a></h2>


<p>As delicious as it is to roam around in half futuristic half-primitive world of Guerrilla Games’ creation, at the heart of what makes it all great, is Aloy--a skilled hunter from a tribe with a cynical outlook on technology.  She makes the game, simply because of her refusal to live by the limiting perspective of the people around her, thus opening us up to the impressive beauty of her world. </p>

<p>A rebel spirit, she doesn’t always get along with everybody. But as a character, that only adds to her charm.  Aside from the fact that everybody wants to play the renegade with a biting wit, we also get to bear witness to her growth and maturity. </p>

<p>It takes a while but eventually she breaks down her walls, tries hard to get better, and eventually learns to empathize with other outcasts like herself. Before it releases on the PC, Horizon Zero Dawn gets a playscore of 9.11 on the PS4.</p>


<h2>1. Claire from <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/resident-evil-2/" title="Resident Evil 2 for PC Game Reviews">Resident Evil 2</a></h2>


<p>Diving into the infected streets of Raccoon City, Claire’s is a tale that may be already familiar to the fans of the Resident Evil franchise, and, more importantly, only serves as one half of the whole narrative. Despite that, she still comes on strong. Throughout the game she shows off her strong willed-ness AND strength. As a relatively small 19 year old, she doesn’t have a problem slumming it with the bad guys, carrying her own in firefights and kicking zombie heads.</p>

<p>Other than that she also has her compassion and her smarts, teaming up with the young Sherry and infiltrating the Umbrella Corporation. Claire may be an underdog compared to the arguably more iconic Jill, but she deserves the spotlight, at least for now. </p>

<p>Resident Evil 2 is currently the highest rated Resident Evil title with playscores of 9.28 on the PS4, 9.20 on the PC. and 9.02 on the Xbox One.</p>

<h2>10. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/disgaea-5-complete/">Disgaea 5 Complete</a></h2>

<p><a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/nippon-ichi-software/">Nippon Ichi</a> has unleashed their sixth new entry to the massively popular Disgaea series. This time, the series’ proven-and-tested turn based RPG formula has been greatly improved. This Complete Edition contains all the DLCs of the <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/disgaea-5-alliance-of-vengeance/">PlayStation 4 original</a>. </p>

<p>This Switch port is the ideal platform to casually roam around the dangerous Netherworld with these colorful characters. Lead these unlikely heroes as they exact their vengeance on the evil demon emperor. </p>

<p>Old fans of this classic JRPG should know the game’s emphasis on turn-based tactical combat is its best feature. This includes its wide variety of customizations and various class options. New fans, however, will find this a tad bit intimidating due to the game’s complicated systems. Nonetheless, its replay value and addicting combat is something any Switch owner should try, dood. A playscore of 8.40</p>

<p>In this title, players assume the role of thicc-thighs Ryza as she embarks on a quest to eliminate the world of evil through the use of synthesis. If anyone’s familiar with the Atelier series, it’s an advanced way of creating new items.</p>

<p>With such a niche audience in the Western market, the Atelier games are something special and this latest entry will spark some interest to the uninitiated. If you know what I mean. It receives a playscore of 8.53 </p>

Octopath Traveler is a familiar, yet fresh spectacle of all the great things that make a JRPG great. It’s full of magic, good storytelling and personality. </p>

<p>The game takes place in one kingdom shrouded in a multitude of mysteries. Hop into its immersive HD-2D visuals powered by the Unreal Engine 4 and let videogame nostalgia do the taking. </p>

<p>Octopath Traveler might have the same feel with most JRPGs, but its selection of 8 playable characters is what makes every journey great. Choose your main hero with their own unique origin stories and embark on a grand recruitment spree to meet its entire cast of characters. </p>

<p>The Zodiac Age is the closest thing the Switch could get to a modern Final Fantasy title. Square’s underrated JRPG gets a dramatic overhaul to its combat system and fixed a few issues that PlayStation 2 players complained about 14 years ago.

<p>What makes the Zodiac Age different is the introduction of The International Zodiac System. A gameplay rework that improved the original’s ‘sluggish’ combat. Old players will notice the combat feels more alive now, especially with the addition of new features such as being able to switch between characters on the fly and more customization from its Zodiac Sign and Job trees.

<p>Its release on the Switch is the start of Square’s access to Nintendo’s portable console. Who knows, we might get the latest Final Fantasy titles soon. The Zodiac Age is a great FF title for the Switch and it receives a playscore of 8.77

The world of Ni No Kuni is a charming place with memorable characters, and not to mention renowned Studio Ghibli composer, Joe Hisaishi himself, is taking care of the game’s sweet soundtrack. Embark on a traditional RPG journey where you fight bad guys, explore dungeons and find treasure. This trifecta of game design makes Echoes of an Elusive Age a recommended title for JRPG fans. </p>

<p>This mouthful of an entry gets the best version in one Square Enix’s renowned JRPG. XI is considered as the best of the series yet. It comes with additional features built just for the Nintendo Switch console. The power to ‘switch’ (get it) between two graphical modes: the classic 2D visuals or modern 3D gives players more room to experiment with nostalgia, role-playing or just want to try something different. </p>

<p>It is a combination of all the good things Dragon Quest was known for and it’s not afraid to take risks when pushing the franchise even further. It has a playscore of 9.27</p>

Though not a direct sequel, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/void-interactive/">VOID Interactive</a>'s spiritual successor promises to bring the same realness to the FPS game that SWAT delivered.</p>

<p>As a police team, you'll have to face dangerous criminal situations with a tactical mind. Pairing shooting with puzzle-solving, Ready Or Not provides you with choices on how to deal with each criminal situation, and you'll  get to call the shots--whether that means diffusing hostile situations or facing them head-on.</p> 

<p>So far it definitely. feels like it stays true to the spirit of the SWAT series. Currently, in Alpha phase, it's set to release on the PC this June.</p>



<h2>2. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/valorant/">Valorant</a></h2>

<p>If there's one game everybody's been talking about, it's this upcoming title from <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/riot-games/">Riot Games</a> themselves. With Valorant, Riot will take themselves far from their comfort zone of massively popular MOBA, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/league-of-legends/">League of Legends</a>. Showing off <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/counter-strike-global-offensive/">CS:GO</a>-like gameplay along with characters that are up to par with the quirkiness of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/blizzard/">Blizzard</a>'s <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/overwatch/">Overwatch</a>, it also feels like Riot is prepared to square off with the big boys on their brand new ventures.</p> 

<p>Compared to LOL's hundreds of champions, there will only be 8 agents, but each will be equipped with skills that will hopefully bring balance to the fast-paced gameplay. As a new game, it also answers to the clamors of the FPS community, with higher tick rates and extensive measures against cheats and exploits.</p>

<h2>3. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/halo-infinite/">Halo Infinite on PC</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/xbox-one/halo-infinite/">Xbox One</a>, and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/xbox-series-x/halo-infinite/">Series X</a></h2>

<p>Microsoft always brings superstar treatment to their exclusive titles. But, as much as we're all excited for this upcoming latest installment, we didn't really come a long way from their cinematic story reveal.</p> 

<p>On the other hand, there's plenty of details that are sure to keep us interested. Known for their multiplayer, Split Screen will definitely make a return in this entry. And, on top of that, it's gonna be a CAPACIOUS experience, with a big and open world full of "mystery and wonder," whatever that means.</p> 

<p>Even though it's gonna be a huge, next-gen title that's gonna be packed with fresh new tools and features, Microsoft has also noted that this game will be a return to their roots. Which means bringing back classic armor from previous entries, as well as the classic theme.</p> 

<p>It's not really much, but with its Holiday 2020 release window, we might find out soon enough. It’s coming to PC and Xbox One, as well as the new Xbox Series X.</p>



<h2>4. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/nine-to-five/">Nine to Five</a></h2>

<p>Gathering developers from a laundry list of popular shooters, and trivial pursuit mobile, Nine To Five already feels like it'll be one hell of a shooter. Add dancing rabbits with guns to the mix, and you got yourself a winner. Revealed at the 2019 Game Awards, its official teaser trailer showed off a refreshing self-awareness. But beneath all that, it looks to be a serious tactical FPS about a world run entirely by corporations. You, the player, will be fighting for them.</p> 

<p>According to the developers, it's key selling point will be its 3v3v3 gameplay, where objectives keep changing and actions have consequences, and all taking place in the span of 15 minutes. If anybody wants to try out how that works, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/redhill-games/">RedHill</a> is currently accepting sign-ups for their Alpha testing phase.</p>

<p>With its promise of a dynamic and fast-paced shooting environment, it could be Redhill's answer to Rainbow Six Siege and it's coming to the PC this year.</p>

<p>A game that is decidedly NOT <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/tom-clancys-rainbow-six-siege/">Rainbox Six Siege</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/ubisoft-montreal/">Ubisoft</a> hopes to present something new to the table with this upcoming entry to the Rainbox Six series. Set several years into the future of their Rainbow Six series, Quarantine is exploring a new kind of enemy as the team fights against a mutating alien parasite.</p> 

<p>What's special about the game is supposedly its 3 player co-op mode that lets you get into gunplay and tactics with two other friends. However, after its teaser last June, we still don't know more than we did last year. But since Rainbow Six Siege community is thriving, it's easy to say the hype is still on.</p> 

<p>Delayed from its previous Early 2020 window, we'll have to expect it sometime later this year on the PC, PS4, and Xbox One. As well as next-gen consoles PS5 and the Series X.</p>



<h2>6. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/disintegration/">Disintegration on PC</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/disintegration/">PS4</a>, and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/xbox-one/disintegration/">Xbox One</a></h2>

<p>Sci-fi shooters are a dime a dozen, so it's not hard to believe that this new IP is getting more than a few comparisons. From <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/titanfall/">Titanfall</a>, to <a href="https://whatoplay.com/xbox-360/destiny/">Destiny</a>, to <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/anthem/">Anthem</a>, and especially Halo. But, if there's any similarities to that last one, it's because Halo's CO-Creator was determined to make this a reality.</p>

<p>Mark Lehto, who is behind the new <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/v1-interactive/">V1 Interactive Studio</a>, has worked on titles like <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/halo-2/">Halo 2</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/xbox-360/halo-3/">3</a>, and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/halo-combat-evolved/">Halo: Combat Evolved</a> and he set out to use these experiences to make something brand new, without all the torturous crunches of the videogame world.</p> 

<p>Disintegration balances singleplayer and multiplayer content. Its campaign puts us in the shoes of gravcycle pilot, Romer Shoal, who fights for the cause of humanity in an increasingly "integrated" Rayonne world. All that while offering three multiplayer modes, each a frantic team-based battle that tests teamwork and individual skill.</p> 

<p>It might look like a bleak future for its story, but Disintegration also presents an inspiring future for game development we can all get behind.</p> 

<p>It's coming out in 2020 on the PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with some speculations suggesting its release on the PS5</p>



<h2>7. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/xbox-one/crossfire-x/">CrossFire X</a></h2>

<p>From something new to something familiar. Crossfire is one of the biggest names in Asia's FPS market. And, while they thrived on the PC, this time, Microsoft is bringing a fresh edition exclusively to the Xbox One.</p> 

<p>Together with its debut on the Xbox are a slew of improvements to enhance the shooting experience to something worth the console's heavy-duty performance. That means making aim down sights shooting possible, as well as a brand new battle royale game mode. Despite these changes, Crossfire X still promises to be a free-to-play experience that everyone can enjoy on the console.</p> 

<p>If you're looking for a new FREE shooter on the Xbox One, you can expect this on the shelves sometime this year.</p>



<h2>8. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/medal-of-honor-above-and-beyond/">Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond</a></h2>

<p>How better to look at the future of first-person shooters than checking on what's cooking in the world of virtual reality.</p> 

<p>From the creators of Titanfall and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/apex-legends/">Apex Legends</a>, this Medal of Honor comeback is <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/respawn-entertainment/">Respawn</a>'s latest collaboration with <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/electronic-arts/">Electronic Arts</a>, taking us right into the frontlines of the explosive gore and glory of the second World War.</p> 

<p>A lot of fans are just excited for the return of the beloved Medal of Honor series, but it's made even more promising thanks to the next-level immersion that the VR platform will offer. Other than getting zero breathing moment on the anti-Nazi battlefield, Above and Beyond will also have you sneaking into bases and interacting with objects as an OSS agent.</p> 

<p>A whole new play an already beloved series, it's set to release on the Oculus Rift sometime in 2020.</p>



<h2>9. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/igi-origins/">I.G.I. Origins on PC</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/xbox-one/igi-origins/">Xbox One</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/igi-origins/">PlayStation 4</a>, and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/igi-origins/">PlayStation 5</a></h2>

<p>Speaking of world wars and espionage, it's time to get in this action from <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/toadman-interactive/">Toadman Interactive</a>'s revival of a turn of the century title. With that initialism literally meaning "I'm Going In," you can bet there are more infiltration missions to come our way.</p> 

<p>As a prequel to <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/innerloop-studios/">Innerloop Studio</a>'s <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/project-igi-im-going-in/">Project IGI</a>, Origins will take us back to the Cold War where we play an MI6 spy on a mission for redemption. With that comes stealth assignments, firefights, and an array of gadgets to play with.</p> 

<p>It's still a long way off from its 2021 release date so we don't have much right now except that's it'll clearly look sweeter than the 20-year-old original. It's coming to the PC, Xbox One, PS4, and likely also on the PS5</p>



<h2>10. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/deathloop/">Deathloop</a></h2>

<p>A most deadly combination of 2nd amendment groundhog day, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/bethesda-game-studios/">Bethesda</a> isn't playing aorund with their latest FPS venture either. They already stirred enough intrigue for the title by pulling in the hitmakers of the <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/dishonored/">Dishonored</a> Series, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/arkane-studios/">Arkane Studios</a>.</p> 

<p>In their short, cinematic presentation at E3, we got a glimpse of the mind-bending story of rival assassins Colt and Juliana in a strange world caught in a loop. One vying for escape, and the other fighting to keep everything as it is.</p> 

<p>While we don't know much about the game yet, we do know that just like Dishonored, players will be given the choice to approach each situation however they see fit. Which actually does sound pretty fucking awesome.</p> 

<p>Slated for a PS4 release as of now, there's also talk of its coming to the PS5 and The Xbox Series X.</p>

<p>If you're a fan of the Chernobyl-centric STALKER series, then you've probably been waiting for this. The updates are pretty slow so far, and with the 2021 release window looming on the horizon, we're definitely wondering where it's at.</p>

<h2>12. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/call-of-duty-2020/">Call of Duty 2020 (tentative)</a></h2>

<p><a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/activision/">Activision</a> has confirmed the release of another Call of Duty title. Other than this confirmation though, they didn't give too many details on the upcoming game. That is, other than the fact they expect it to sell less than their Modern Warfare game and that's it's coming this 4th quarter.</p>

<p>After amassing a cult following in 2013, the comic book adaptation sets out to make a stronger impression this year. Known for its impressive storyline, cel-shaded graphics, and David Duchovny, 13 will return with refreshed visuals and updated gameplay sometime in 2020.</p>

<p>From the PlayStation's China Hero Project, developer <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/surgical-scalpels/">Surgical Scalpels</a> is gonna give us a tour of the outer space. While it looks like it'll make an awesome campaign, Project Boundary will be a multiplayer-focused title with various 5v5 game modes, which military themes in their weapons and gameplay. Space is about to get loud sometime in 2020.</p>

<h2>15. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/witchfire/">Witchfire</a></h2>

<p>From the makes of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/painkiller-overdose/">Painkiller</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/xbox-360/bulletstorm/">Bulletstorm</a>, and the <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/the-vanishing-of-ethan-carter/">Vanishing of Ethan Carter</a>, Witchfire is <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/the-astronauts/">The Astronauts</a>' latest game. A gothic shooter set in a 15th Century Europe populated by magical craetures. If their previous titles are any indication, it's gonna be awesome and it's coming to the PC in 2020.</p>

<p>Well, speculation is better than nothing. After changing hands to <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/starbreeze/">Starbreeze</a> in 2016, the franchise has been in kind of a rut. Still, since they promised, all we can do is wait patiently for its arrival.</p>

It was trippy and whimsical like a robot-filled Chocolate Factory. But, unfortunately, it's been delayed from its late 2019 release date and we haven't heard much since.</p>

<h2>18. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/bright-memory-infinite/">Bright Memory: Infinite on PC</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/bright-memory-infinite/">PS4</a>, and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/xbox-one/bright-memory-infinite/">Xbox One</a></h2>

<p>One man studio <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/fyqd-studio/">FYQD</a> follows up his <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/bright-memory/">Episode 1</a> success with an expanded version of his original hack and slack masterclass. Already oozing with bullet storms and lightning-fast combat, Infinite will bring story rewrites and reworked levels that are set to make the Bright Memory experience even better. It's coming out in the 4th quarter of 2020.</p>

<p>Its fast-paced action is the ideal game to waste time with. You could also enjoy its variety of online modes such as Co-Op and Player vs Player elements. A word of warning, microtransactions aren’t very friendly in this game.</p>

Mixing <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/portal/">Portal</a>’s ‘portal’ mechanics and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/unreal-tournament-2004/">Unreal Tournament</a>’s blistering action, Splitgate: Arena Warfare offers a brand new experience to first person arena-combat with more options and strategies to choose from.</p> 

<p>It’s accessibility is built for both veteran and first-time FPS players. Dive into its futuristic playground built using the Unreal Engine 4. Maneuver in its action-packed maps with up to 10 players and rake up your top frags and air-supremacy using only your first-person shooter skills. Like every other shooter, it’s easy to learn, but difficult to master.</p>

<p>This card-game is different from the game’s version, instead, this is purely built for long-term service with a growing e-sport league. Wage war against other players across multiple game modes. Each card and faction offer hundreds of possibilities, all depending on your skill and maybe a bit of luck.</p> 

<p>The game is constantly updating, adding new cards and features. Gwent’s changes will continue to shift the meta with each update and give players enough rewards and replayability in each expansion. It’s also out on iOS and the Android version is coming out soon.</p> 

<p>It receives a playscore of 7.49</p>


<h2>6. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/the-darwin-project/">The Darwin Project</a></h2>

A familiar concept for Hunger Games fans, The Darwin Project's main focus is survival. Instead of just finding weapons and armor, you'll have to craft your way to victory in real-time.</p> 

<p>It's a constant balancing act between vigilance and creation. And just to make an awesome premise more interesting, each match also has a spectating "director" player whose job is to spice up the competition by giving heals and abilities to whoever player they choose.</p> 

<p>Wrapped in the now-familiar cartoon visuals, The Darwin Project is both intense and unapologetically playful. It receives a playscore of 7.58</p>

	<p>Yet another Battle Royale game on the list. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/darkflow-software/">Darkflow Software</a>'s Cuisine Royale is a game built for players who are still obsessed with <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/playerunknowns-battlegrounds/">PlayerUnknown</a>’s Battlegrounds or PUBG. It combines many things including realism, kitchen materials, and ironically, magic.</p> 

<p>Be the last-man standing as you face off against dozens of players in a massive arena full of other players that are somehow better than you. Despite its comedic presentation, its ballistic physics is pretty damn solid.</p> 

<p>You can shift between FPS or TPP if you want to. It basically shares the same combat mechanics as PUBG, but its addition of Rituals and Magic give more unpredictability to its already crazy moment to moment gameplay.</p>

<p>At the moment, its AI campaign is a little unbalanced, and its presentations, unpolished. But there's definitely a lot of potential brewing for this game where good plays rule over all.</p> 

<p>It has a gamerscore of 8.48 on the Android.</p>

<p>If there's one thing we can assure, it's that this game's paternal root crop is more than a little rad. From indie developer <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/thomas-young/">Thomas Young</a>, this game brings us to a colorful retro pixel world filled with puzzles, danger, and some rad kids too cool for their radish dad.</p> 

<p>It's all too easy to get pulled into the game's fun dialog, and engaging atmosphere of health food vs fast food. But, it also poses some fun challenges within its many cute levels and stages. Watch out for saws and spikes, and be extra careful with your precious double jumps. At the end of the day, though, it's the pure simplicity that makes this game great. If you can sit through a few ads, you'll love this.</p>

At the end of the day, however, it's still a gacha and the grind for those legendary items will be tough but the journey seems enjoyable enough.</p>

<p>On top of visuals, the quality is also obvious with its music and gameplay, gacha mechanics notwithstanding. Because of its visuals-heavy design, it might take a toll on your phones and wifi. And as a gacha game, you should definitely be careful with spending too much on what some see as unfair rates. </p>

<p>With some download troubles on the iPhones and iPads, it's still thriving on the Android with gamerscores of 6.97 and 9.39 respectively.</p>

<p>With challenges at every turn, the going will get tough and you might eventually need to cash in to get through. However, for the first few hours at least, you'll be treated that some sweet high-quality action you're craving.</p>

This isn't exactly new though. Set within the universe of the popular webtoon called Hardcore Leveling Warrior, Lucid Adventures continues on from the warrior's fall from the number one rank.</p> 

<p>To get back on his feet, he needs the help of four other adventurers to find out what happened to his stats and save the world of Lucid Adventure. Create the ultimate party from their various choices and level up their skills to withstand the hordes of monsters ahead.</p> 

<p>The artstyle may be on the cute side, but its sidescrolling gameplay does pack a lot of punch. Especially considering its many PvP modes that will test your grit and strategies against players around the globe.</p>

<p>The Android version may be in some trouble with a gamerscore of 7.43, it's thriving on the iOS with a gamerscore of 9.74.</p>

<p>Ambition is impressive, but sometimes all it takes is the polished execution of a simple idea. But, ultimately, it's much more than that.</p> 

<p>As you get through harder and harder levels, you find your brains don't always see the same as your eyes and in no time you'll be doubting your senses too. It's never frustrating though. You'll get used to the mixing of palettes and soon it becomes a relaxing adventure, not unlike figuring out the patterns of a jigsaw puzzle.</p> 

<p>For a not-so-wild ride of quiet bewilderment, this game has got you covered with gamerscores of 9.77 on the iOS, and 9.52 on the Android.</p>

In this new title, they retain their signature stunning visuals and bring the spunk with their roster of five characters.</p> 

<p>That might not sound like much, but the lineup covers all the basic 5v5 formula, with tanks, supports, damage dealers. Using touch controls for real-time first-person shooting will always be a little iffy, but War Games also falls short on content and affordable microtransactions.</p> 

<p>On the other hand, with portable Overwatch still a little out of reach, this is still our best alternative. That’s why it’s our best FREE game this month with a playscore of 8.00</p>

<p>Resident Evil 3 serves as a prequel to <a href="https://whatoplay.com/xbox-one/resident-evil-2/">Resident Evil 2</a>, taking place hours before Claire and Leon’s journey. It still shares the same over the shoulder shooter with deep survival-horror elements. Every bullet counts and every encounter is a risk.</p> 

<p>In addition to RE’s success, CAPCOM also included a multiplayer mode called Resident Evil Resistance as a separate mode. Players will enjoy building their own torture chamber or become the very victims of a madman’s game. Both are coming this 3rd of April, 2020 for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.</p>

	<p>There’s not a lot of Disaster games on the market. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/gz-studio/">Granzella</a>’s action-adventure game focuses on real-life calamities.</p> 

<p>Disaster Report isn’t your standard videogame, there are no boss fights to encounter, enemies to defeat or powerful weapons to obtain. It’s simply a mini-puzzle journey where you, as a player, find ways to help over 60 characters escape in this earthquake-struck city.</p> 

<p>In a way, it’s a game that teaches most players the proper procedures during dangerous earthquakes. Coming this April 7 for the PlayStation 4, PC, and the Switch.</p>


<h2>3. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/final-fantasy-vii-remake/">Final Fantasy VII: Remake</a></h2>

	<p>CAPCOM and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/square-enix/">Square Enix</a> will take over the month of April. Cloud and his friends are shedding off their polygonal bodies and are jumping into next-gen visuals in this ambitious Remake.</p> 

<p>Like Resident Evil 3 Remake, VII is also rebuilt from the ground up featuring new features that the original couldn’t even compare. Focusing more on the action-adventure perspective, players no longer engage in turn-based battles as the game shifts to real-time combat.</p> 

<p>Switch between characters on the fly and stop the greedy Shinra from destroying the planet. It’s only but Part One of VII’s ultimate adventure, but there are more surprises in store here that we can’t wait to uncover. Coming this April 10 as a PlayStation 4 Exclusive.</p> 


<h2>4. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/xbox-one/space-engineers/">Space Engineers</a></h2>

<p>If you’re itching for some tinkering then <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/keen-software-house/">Keen Software House</a>’s sandbox sci-fi game is the right kind of tool for the job.</p> 

<p>Everything in this game is explorable, destructible and buildable. Like <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/kerbal-space-program/">Kerbal Space Program</a>, it’s your sanctuary of technological feats. Build space stations, planetary outposts, and travel to the vastness of the galaxy using your basic architectural knowledge. Go solo or grab friends and pick between its Survival or Creative mode.</p>

<p>Its <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/space-engineers/">PC version</a> is already out on Steam for quite some time now, but its Xbox One release is coming this April 11, 2020.</p> 


<h2>5. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/someday-youll-return/">Someday You’ll Return on PC</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/someday-youll-return/">PlayStation 4</a>, and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/xbox-one/someday-youll-return/">Xbox One</a></h2> 

	<p>This Psychological Horror game from <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/cbe/">the creators of J.U.L.I.A.: Among the Stars</a> will elevate the walking simulator genre with its slew of unique mechanics. The story involves a father looking for his missing daughter</p>. 

<p>Instead of the usual going from point A to point B by purely walking, players will navigate around a vast Bohemian forest full of secrets. Interact around its myriad of activities such as crafting and wall climbing. Although it doesn’t really bring anything new to the table, the Karmic system adds a variety to the story, creating consequences for the choices the player makes. It’s set to release this April 14 for the PC, PS4, and X1.</p> 


<h2>6. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/nerved/">Nerved</a></h2>

	<p>This first-person psychological horror game from <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/ator-neba/">Ator Neba</a> is very much like any other horror stories out there. You Play as a Paranormal Investigator searching for clues in a large, eerie forest.</p> 

<p>If you’re familiar with Slenderman or <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/outlast/">Outlast</a>, you’ll know the more you explore its decrepit zones, the world gets increasingly demented with more eyes staring back at you in every dark corner. Its fragmented story becomes clear the longer you play the game, just don’t let its chilling audio get to your nerves. Coming this 15 of April on the PC.</p>

	<p>After crash landing on a mysterious and hostile planet, a team of space explorers tries their best to survive the alien environment. Sounds familiar? <p>Learn the alien secrets of this unpredictable planet and unlock the power of the arcane. Use these magical abilities to defend yourself from the planet’s extraterrestrial threats. It’s a whole new world for you to exploit and explore. Coming this April 16 for the PC.</p>

	<p>Enter a derelict spaceship in this action-RPG from <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/cradle-games/">Cradle Games</a>. Take on the role of a Warrior capable of decimating a horde of Lovecraftian monsters that terrorize the ship. It borrows inspiration from notable action-RPGs like Darksiders where players can equip powerful weapons with unique properties.</p> 

<p>Aside from its action-oriented plot, the interconnected nature of the ship makes room for exploration. Giving players a Metroidvania-like experience as they look for secrets and face deadly bosses. A local couch co-op is also available if playing alone seems like a chore. It comes out this 16th of April for the PC, PS4, X1, and Switch.</p> 


<h2>9. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/predator-hunting-grounds/">Predator: Hunting Grounds on PC</a> and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/predator-hunting-grounds/">PlayStation 4</a></h2> 

	<p>This upcoming game based on the Predator movie isn't exactly making the best impressions right now. Especially not with graphics that seem a little too outdated for the console.</p>

<p>On the other hand, it still offers an exciting double look at being both vulnerable human hunters and the Predator himself. Developer <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/illfonic/">Ilfonic</a> is already well-known for creating the asymmetrical co-op game, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/friday-the-13th-the-game/">Friday the 13th</a>.</p> 

<p>Now they're making use of their expertise in creating the same experience with the Predator license. It’s time to get hunt or get hunted as the game comes out this April 24 for the PC and PS4.</p>

	<p>Aside from Final Fantasy VII Remake, one of the major surprises of Square Enix’s presentation was the return of the fan-favorite JRPG. A fresh new look to the third entry of the Mana series, this remake is made for both old and new players.</p> 

<p>Players will be delighted to know that they will be returning to the magical land filled with darkness, light and a huge mystical tree. The changes are obvious and players can experience a different kind of Trials of Mana, but with the same story. It’s coming out this April 24 for the PC, PS4, and Switch.</p> 


<h2>11. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/gears-tactics/">Gears Tactics</a></h2>

	<p><a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/the-coalition/">The Coalition</a> has finally come up with the idea of transforming their critically-acclaimed cover-shooter into a Tactics game. Much like the original series, it’s a fast-paced shooter with added turn-based mechanics. This will take up a lot of your time as you devise strategies to take down the Locust Horde efficiently. It’s as if <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/xcom-enemy-unknown/">XCOM</a> has met its match.</p>

<p>Recruit a ragtag group of soldiers and customize their arsenal for some heavy firepower against your enemies and huge bosses. Microsoft has taken a huge leap for this franchise, and let’s hope this new title will please Gears fans, especially with its Triple-A price tag. Coming this 28 of April for the PC.</p>

SnowRunner is all about plowing that rough patch of snow and mud with a variety of machines to choose from.</p>

Overcome its extreme hazards by selecting from a huge roster of heavy-duty vehicles from manufacturers like Pacific, Navistar, and a whole lot more. It’s set to release this April 28 for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.</p>

<p>The sixth in the mainline entries, Project Sakura Wars plays like a soft reboot for the franchise. It's a mix of many different genres rolled into one. <h2>10. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/chivalry-medieval-warfare/">Chivalry: Medieval Warfare</a></h2>

<p>We're starting off with something straightforward with this game from <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/torn-banner-studios/">Torn Banner Studios</a>. Just from the title itself, it's already oozing with medieval-ness. But despite the name, Chivalry, the religious, moral, and social code that knights abide by, doesn't seem all too present here.</p> 

<p>As a multiplayer hack and slash game, your only goal is to fight for glory. What makes Chivalry special, is its melee combat which, like the landlords of its time, is well-executed. With its first-person perspective, you'll get to step into suits of armor to fight against opponents with swords, maces, long-bows and more from their medieval armory.</p> 

<p>Though it's set in a fictionalized world, it does present pretty believable middle ages.  complete with the appropriate artillery for dueling, pillaging, and storming the gates. Released in 2012, Chivalry, the franchise, certainly isn't dead, with a sequel coming sometime in 2020.</p> 

<p>But for now, it's a great Medieval jump-off point with a playscore of 8</p>



<h2>9. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/banished/">Banished</a></h2>

<p>Offering us a little break from the fighting is <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/shining-rock-software/">Shining Rock Software</a>'s city-building strategy. In Banished, you're tasked to be the sole authority of a community's resources and the citizens that fall under you.</p> 

<p>It's a beautiful simulation, with minimalist visuals and stunning architecture that make you feel immersed in their isolated wilderness. But, it's not the visuals that gave Banished its name, it's the fact that this game is more of a survival than your run of the mill city builder.</p> 

<p>In a world of slow growth, breakable tools, and the ravages of the seasons, the game has a way of delivering challenges at every turn. It’s that refreshing difficulty that makes it actually fun.</p> 

<p>While it means, livelihoods, and difficulties might seem pretty medieval to most of us, historians might beg to disagree. But, if you are hankering for more of castles, shiny armors, and feudal systems, Banished actually has mods that will gladly give you that experience.</p>

<p>It has a playscore of 8.09</p>



<h2>8. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/mordhau/">Mordhau</a></h2>

<p>No, you’re not seeing double. Released just in 2019, Mordhau basically improves on what Chivalry offered. It's still pretty much a multiplayer-only hack and slash game, emphasizing hand to hand combat using the weapons of the medieval age.</p> 

<p>But, with the benefit of today's tech, we get a more modern, less clunky experience. Though it may not be the best-looking game, it nails most of what it aimed to do, especially in their frontlines mode where you get to play in a large scale battlefield with up to 60 other people.</p>

<p>On top of the refined combat experience, there's also the customization which allows you to create and edit their own mercenaries, from body type, face, and voice, to armor types and weapons that affect the way you fight in the battlefield.</p> 

<p>It's a realistic take on the middle age combat, and paired with its vibrant visuals, Mordhau is a great hub for fans of the period.</p> 

<p>It has a playscore of 8.1</p>



<h2>7. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/kingdom/">Kingdom</a></h2>

<p>Though it abandons all notions of realism, this game's spin on the medieval monarchy is hard to miss. Playing as a king or queen on horseback, it challenges you to create your own kingdom amidst its procedurally generated 2D lands.</p> 

<p>With just a few gold coins at your disposal, you'll turn peasants into loyal subjects in no time, building castles out of wood and stone. But the twist comes at nighttime, with hordes of creatures bent on raiding your vaults and challenging your claim.</p> 

<p>It's ultimately a strategy and resource management hybrid, with a simplicity that makes it easy to get players hooked. However, with not enough variety despite its expansive randomly generated world, that simplicity does come at a cost. But if it's an experience you want, Kingdom's gorgeous pixel art style and beautiful soundtrack gladly deliver.</p>

<h2>6. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/assassins-creed-ii/">Assassin's Creed II</a></h2>

<p>What is arguably the height of the Assassin's Creed series, this second installment took us into the shoes of Ezio Auditore da Firenze, from his birth in Florence to the subsequent events of his life in different parts of Italy.</p> 

<p>Ezio's adventures have always been a highlight of the series, as it took us into the lives of 15th-century icons through his perspective of important events. Featuring renaissance icons, and, most especially, Desmond's time outside of the Animus, it's not strictly a Middle Age drama.</p> 

<p>But, with the use of its open-world format and its engaging assassin combat, it offers an up-close, albeit heavily fictionalized, look at the period that you won't get anywhere else. Explore the 15th and 16th centuries as Ezio takes on a quest of vengeance against his family’s traitors and the infamous Knights Templar. Live amongst the assassins, fight with their weapons, and admire the architecture.</p> 

<p>All that, for a playscore of 8.28</p>



<h2>5. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/assassins-creed-brotherhood/">Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood</a></h2>

<p>Assassin's Creed II was so good, we all wanted more. That's exactly the story of Brotherhood, and the rest, as they say, fictionalized history. It follows directly from the plot of the second installment, with Ezio back into the fore, but this time out for Borgia blood.</p> 

<p>This particular entry expands on what the previous game offered, especially in terms of its open-world variety. With Ezio's new position as Master Assassin, you get territory takeovers, assassin recruitment, and property investment that all keep you rooted in its environment of 16th century Italy.</p> 

<p>With Brotherhood, they really upped the immersion. As <a href="https://whatoplay.com/critics/gamespot/">GameSpot</a> says "few games make it such a pleasure to simply move from place to place." And they're right about that, with the choice of galloping horseback or parkouring up towers.</p> 

<p>For fans of the period, Brotherhood is a definite breath of fresh air and it gets a playscore of 8.59</p>



<h2>4. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/a-plague-tale-innocence/">A Plague Tale: Innocence</a></h2>

<p>Sure, Assassin's Creed may not all be sunshine and rainbows but with our fourth entry, things are about to get dark. A game from independent developer <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/asobo-studio/">Asobo Studio</a>, it earned top ranks in our list of the top games of 2019. Despite some lukewarm reviews from critics disappointed by its sometimes clunky writing and just-decent stealth gameplay, it still garnered rave reviews from gamers who loved its gruesome and painfully real story.</p>

<p>Telling the tale of two siblings, Amicia and Hugo, Innocence ironically paints a harrowing picture of the plague-ridden 14th century that invites all kinds of disillusionment. It's not a happy story by any means, but it's visually stunning and it's packed with puzzles that make it worth every minute.</p> 

<p>There's less of the tropes and combat we might expect from a medieval game, but as we face rats, zealots, and human nature itself, it tells its own humble yet grand approximation of how life felt like then.</p>

<h2>3. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/mount-and-blade-warband/">Mount & Blade: Warband</a></h2>

<p>Yes, we're all hyped for the coming of its <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/mount-and-blade-ii-bannerlord/">most-awaited sequel</a>, but before its decade-in-the-making second installment hits the market, we can take a moment to appreciate where it all began.</p> 

<p>Well, as the stand-alone expansion to the <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/mount-and-blade/">original Mount & Blade game</a>, it's not exactly where it all started, but it was with this title that the series delivered on the potential of their premise. Unlike the RPGs of its time, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/taleworlds-entertainment/">TaleWorlds</a>' Warband did away with all the fantasy elements and instead stayed true to medieval realism.</p> 

<p>But, as fun as it is to create your own zero to hero story from scratch, what really made the game was its multiplayer modes. With 8 different types, you get to experience the fullest of their combat, commanding warbands, dueling 1v1, and sieging castles. As a game in the 2010s, Warband had a lot to offer. But if you don't mind its obvious age, there's still a lot of fun to be had while waiting for the upcoming sequel.</p>

<h2>2. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/crusader-kings-ii/">Crusader Kings II</a></h2>

<p>After all the up-close looks, this next game provides us with a new perspective on the age. It's one of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/paradox-development-studio/">Paradox</a>'s most popular grand strategies, anchoring on the power struggles inherent in medieval systems. Where most games focus on certain periods, our 2nd spot takes us on a ride through the centuries. It's a dynasty simulator that lets you control a whole lineage, following them through the start of the 11th century, all through the 14th.</p> 

<p>As such, it's a historical field trip. We don't just get to meet various historical figures, its grand strategy scheme also lets us experience the various cultural and religious quirks that kept the era’s feudalist system moving.</p>

<p>Offering so much in terms of content and insight, the game is a bit of information overload. But, if you can get past that, you'll discover one of the best medieval strategies out there.</p>

<h2>1. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/total-war-shogun-2/">Total War: Shogun 2</a></h2>

<p>We end this list far away from the Western medieval notions we're used to. Set during the Ashikaga shogunate, Total War's return to the region is right smack in Japan's medieval period. Instead of kings and knights, we get shoguns and samurai, but all of them still fighting to gain more power and control.</p> 

<p>Unlike the previous game which had a global scope, this entry from <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/creative-assembly/">Creative Assembly</a> shines a spotlight on the Japanese islands and provinces. You get to choose between nine major clans, each with their own advantages that will change the way you play.</p> 

<p>This allows you to see firsthand the unique interactions between the Japanese territories. Not entirely guided by religion, but by different methods of diplomacy and militaristic action.</p> 

<p>In a series that usually focused on Western and Middle Eastern battlefields, this installment’s unique and effective gameplay still managed to make it Total War's highest-rated title yet.</p>

Unlike the usual bunch of dark, gothic, or medieval settings for role-playing games, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/netease-games/">NetEase Games</a>' Dawn of Isles offers something uniquely bright and charming.</p> 

<p>With its captivating island setting, you get to live your tropical adventure dreams by surviving through the work of your own hands. Collect wood for crafting, plant your own produce, go fishing, and so much more. And if it that sounds too boring, Dawn of Isles never fails to balance it out with elemental battles with the varying monsters on the isle.</p> 

<p>While there's been a lot of love for the game, it looks like there's some talk about a new update that introduces some pay to win aspects to the game.</p> 

<p>A price to pay to live a dual life, perhaps? It has a playscore of 7.84</p>



<h2>9. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/android/world-of-kings/">World of Kings</a></h2>

<p>And now we're back to some traditional MMORPGs. But, just because it follows the format of most games, doesn't mean it's not spectacular. A game from Chinese studio, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/zloong/">ZLOONG</a>, World of Kings is thought to boast some spectacular graphics. Its 3D visuals are a little reminiscent of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/world-of-warcraft/">World of Warcraft</a>, which is pretty impressive, considering it is on the mobile. World of Kings welcomes us into a world of magic .</p> 

<p>Come along with up to 25 friends and raid their 10 epic dungeons for the best loot in the land. The game has recently added a Nightborne race into the mix, rounding it up to five different races, each with their independent stories. The grinding set in place to receive that delicious FREE legendary weapon is tough though. And it's made even tougher in a game overloaded with bots.</p> 

<p>But, the journey towards high levels is fun with friends, getting a playscore of 7.97</p>



<h2>8. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/android/mobile-royale/">Mobile Royale MMORPG - Build a Strategy for Battle</a></h2>

<p>To be an MMORPG is one thing, but to mix it up with the mind work of strategy is another. That's exactly what this game from <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/igg/">IGG.COM</a> does. Telling the story of an on-going medieval war, Mobile Royale gets you into a deep dive of Lords fighting over supremacy over all the kingdoms. The only way to do it is to engage in battle using all the best in strategy, tactics, and a bit of brute force.</p> 

<p>Its RPG elements may be a little slim, although it does have a roster of heroes to summon, upgrade, and customize. For players that have already enjoyed the likes of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/android/lords-mobile/">Lords Mobile</a>, this isn't all that different, offering a layer of strategy to a fun MMO. As such, it also has most of the same microtransactions, spread about in resources for building, as well as the usual in-game currency.</p>

<h2>7. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/android/mu-origin-2-webzen-officially-authorized/">MU ORIGIN 2 - WEBZEN Officially Authorized</a></h2>

<p>MMORPGs were big way back and some names are looking to make their comeback on the mobile stage--one of them is <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/mu-legend/">MU</a>. Once a haven for players wanting MMORPG action in isometric medieval fantasy style, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/webzen/">Webzen</a> has given the go signal to bringing all that to the Android.</p> 

<p>MU ORIGIN 2 stays true to their original mission, letting players run amok in their world full of magic. It reconstructs the universe using modern visuals and allows players to take on the roles of swordsman, mage, and archer. Customize your characters, equip them with powerful items, and participate in the excitement of PvP and GvG.</p> 

<p>As an MMORPG with a free to play model, you'll have to, as usual, watch out for the pay to win mechanics that regularly haunt it. There isn't a lot of complaints about though, compared to those lobbied against the day to day bugs and crashes.</p> 

<p>Still, it gets a score of 8.1</p>



<h2>6. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/android/star-trek-fleet-command/">Star Trek Fleet Command</a></h2>

<p>From medieval fantasy, we come to science fiction. And, who better to spend a science fiction adventure than with one of the best-known names in the genre? A lot of games have explored the Star Trek universe, but <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/scopely/">Scopely</a>'s Star Trek Fleet Command expands on the missions of the Enterprise by adding star system domination to the list.</p> 

<p>Fleet Command gathers round the captains and icons of the entire franchise so that you yourself can recruit them into your journey of cosmic proportions. Enter the battle as Federation, Klingon, or Romulans, and take seige of the Alpha and Beta quadrants using the iconic ships and your own managerial skills. There's also plenty of missions to accomplish when destruction isn't always your cup of tea.</p> 

<p>A little Ferengi-like in their transactions, Star Trek Fleet Commander may test your patience with a whole load of waiting if you don’t feel like shelling out your cash. It has a playscore of 8.14</p>



<h2>5. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/android/summoners-war/">Summoners War</a></h2>

<p>From the makers of the <a href="https://whatoplay.com/android/inotia-4/">Inotia</a> series, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/com2us/">Com2Us</a> made their dive into MMORPGs in 2014 and it's still thriving to this day. Step up to the challenge of the Summoners War as you assemble the greatest team of monsters to battle for you in the Sky Arena.</p>

<p>It chooses to present their battles in cute chibi, but it doesn't take anything away from the intensity of the fights. In fact, the game's graphics is one of the things that critics praised about the game.</p> 

<p>Granted, it's been a while since its debut, so perhaps opinions on that have changed. Looking at the gamers themselves, some of them aren't all that satisfied with its drop rates on runes and monsters.</p>

<p>But, its strategic elements and beautiful character designs are what keeps players coming back for more. It has a playscore of 8.16</p>



<h2>4. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/android/era-of-legends-dragon-discord/">Era of Legends - Fantasy MMORPG in your mobile</a></h2>

<p>The Era of Legends has begun. It all sounds epic enough, evoking images of grand magical faceoffs and harrowing boss raids. Perhaps that's also true.</p> 

<p>What makes <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/101xp/">101XP</a>'s Era of Legends stand out is the fact that it's an autoplay MMORPG. And, for some, it's one of the best of its kind. Released just March of this year, it aimed to join together mobile gaming with traditional MMORPG gameplay.</p> 

<p>From the looks of things, it's delivering on all its promises. Not only does it have a vast world to explore, a number of classes to choose from, and a promising PvP arena, its autoplay makes it discovering all of these things that much easier. If that's not your cup of tea, though, you can always opt-out.</p> 

<p>Sure, the voice acting isn't all that great, and then comes the mildly annoying microtransactions. But, for all it offers, its well deserving of its 8.18 playscore</p>




<h2>3. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/android/dark-legends/">Dark Legends</a></h2>

<p>One level darker than the usual vibrant MMORPGs, Dark Legends lets you step inside the dark and gritty world of vampires and aid them in their quest for survival. In this world, vampires are hunted down by a horde of human supremacists and you must defend your tribes against or face the perils of extinction.</p> 

<p>It's just as contrived as any other kind of vampire story, but for many people, it just works. A lot of gamers enjoy the game's story, atmosphere, and especially its arcade shooter era graphics.</p> 

<p>There's still room for improvement though. As free to play MMO, there are a few complaints leveled at their PvP arena, as well as their loot system that feels a little stingy on actual rewards.</p> 

<p>Despite everything, Dark Legends remains one of the best places for a vampire-themed RPG, and it gets a playscore of 8.43</p>



<h2>2. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/android/arcane-legends-mmo-action-rpg/">Arcane Legends MMO-Action RPG</a></h2>

<p>From the same people who brought Dark Legends, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/spacetime-studios/">Spacetime Studios</a> continues the legends but this time in the comfort of the light of day. What they lack in title creativity, they make up for with polished execution and impressive content.</p> 

<p>In Arcane Legends, you'll discover the massive online world of Arlor--a world steeped in the usual romp medieval magic role-playing. Pick from three different classes and roam the lands as warriors, rogues, and sorcerers.</p> 

<p>There's still the microtransactions you'd expect from every MMO, and it comes in the form of paid subscriptions, as well as cosmetics and pets that you can't easily earn from their loot system.</p> 

<p>If the grind isn't in your mind, Arcane Legends is a more than decent RPG for the mobile and it has a playscore of 8.53</p>

<p>Everybody's probably heard of Runescape. It's one of those games some of us poured hours of our childhood into. <h2>Confirmed Titles</h2>


<h2>1. A New Bluepoint Studios game</h2>

<p><a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/bluepoint-games/">Bluepoint Games</a> is a studio known for their impressive ports and remasters. From Metal Gear Solid, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/uncharted-the-nathan-drake-collection/">Uncharted's Nathan Drake Collection</a>, and the recent <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/shadow-of-the-colossus/">Shadow of the Colossus</a>. Right now, we still don't know what game they're churning out for the PS5, but it's confirmed that they're planning to use next-gen power for some.</p> 

<p>While nothing is set in stone, there's been some talk in the grapevine about a Demon's Soul remake, a guess isn't too far off since its a Sony Owned IP. There isn't really much after that, but what with Bluepoint's great repertoire, we're already looking forward to it.</p>



<h2>2. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/dying-light-2/">Dying Light 2</a></h2>

<p>We already know that Dying Light 2 is bringing its brand of customizable zombie apocalypse to the <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/dying-light-2/">PlayStation 4</a>. But, just recently, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/techland/">Techland</a> has confirmed that it's gonna be a cross-generation release on the Xbox Scarlett, and of course, the PlayStation 5.</p> 

<p>Apparently, this has been planned since the beginning of production, according to the company's CTO, Pawel Rohleder. This news marks one of the first confirmed cross-gen titles for the upcoming console, though not much is known about how different it'll be in the different platforms.</p> 

<p>We know Dying Light will be on the PS4 by about Spring of 2020, but its PS5 release is yet to be determined.</p>



<h2>3. Final Fantasy 7 Remake</h2>

<p><a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/square-enix/">Square Enix</a>'s remake of the classic Final Fantasy VII exploded into the E3 scene this year with all its fancy new mechanics and fancier graphics, so it makes full sense that it's coming to the PS5 too. This much was confirmed when the company President and CEO, Yosuke Matsuda, told Game Informer that the title was being developed to be playable on both consoles.</p>  

<p>On the other hand, there are still some unanswered questions about what form it'll take on the way to the upcoming console. Primarily, whether it'll stay as an episodic adventure or not.</p> 

<p>We'll have a long a way to go with waiting, but at least we'll know it's coming. Eventually.</p>


 <h2>Rumored Titles</h2>


<h2>4. Cyberpunk 2077</a></h2>

<p>Well, this isn't much of a secret. In some interviews, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/cd-projekt-red/">CD Projekt Red</a> has already confirmed that their cyberpunk dystopia, with all its massive features, is being developed with the next-gen in mind. It's only appropriate that the awesome open world look into some kind of future is being future-proofed as well.</p> 

<p>From all the previews we've seen, Cyberpunk 2077 is looking like a showcase of advanced technologies. From their diverse populace to the myriad of customizations available in their character appearance, background, and modifications.</p> 

<p>With the imminent arrival of the PS5, it looks we'll get to experience all of that in more detail. But, it'll be quite a wait till then.</p>



<h2>5. Death Stranding</h2>

<p>The release of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/kojima-productions/">Kojima</a>'s latest masterpiece is already happening on the <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/death-stranding/">PlayStation 4</a>, we know that much. But, with the ambition and promise that the title seems to have, it would be perfectly sensible to release it on the next-gen too.</p>

<p>The PlayStation 5 is reported to support up to 8K graphics, which might be a great way to fully immerse in the weird and unsettling universe that Kojima has created. No actual confirmation, as usual, but a Wired report cites PS5 architect, Mike Cerny's smile as a possible suggestion that it might be happening.</p> 

<p>Nothing is certain yet.</p>



<h2>6. Ghost of Tsushima</h2>

<p>One of the scene stealers of E3, this rumor, as their propagators admit, is more of a bit of wishful thinking. It wouldn't be unexpected though. Ghost of Tsushima's trailer, telling the tale of the last Samurai on the Island during the Mongol invasion, was jam-packed with detail. So much so, that it could fully immerse us in its world.</p> 

<p>That's probably one of the many reasons why people are expecting to experience the game in its fullest potential on the upcoming PlayStation 5 console.</p> 

<p>There's a lot of speculation, sure, but <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/sucker-punch-productions/">SuckerPunch</a>, the studio behind the title, is still mum on the details.</p> 



<h2>7. The Last of Us: Part 2</h2>

<p>Sony's most beloved gems. When the first installment of The Last of Us came out, it also eventually become a cross-generational title that could be experienced on the <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps3/the-last-of-us/">PlayStation 3</a> and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/the-last-of-us-remastered/">PlayStation 4</a>.</p> 

<p>Given all that, and the fact that Part II is already slated to release on February 21, 2020-- mere months from the late 2020 PS5 release--it really wouldn't be that much of a stretch to assume the title is coming to the PlayStation 5 too.</p> 

<p><a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/the-last-of-us-2/">The Last of Us: Part 2</a> is perhaps one of the most anticipated titles on the Sony lineup, and it would be odd of them to hog it on the PS4.</p> 

<p>Logical, sure, but we're still waiting on more details to substantiate the claims.</p>



<h2>8. Starfield</h2>

<p><a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/bethesda-game-studios/">Bethesda</a>'s glossy new IP hopes to introduce us to the beauty of our own cosmos. It's a most awaited space RPG and we've been aching to hear more about since its first announcement teaser. However, the studio has kept pretty silent about it. Understandable, since it does seem that the title is still in the early development stages.</p> 

<p>There are some estimates that put Starfield's release sometime in 2020, or even later. As what seems like a massive game, though, it's almost expected that the title will stretch its frontiers to the PlayStation 5.</p> 

<p>Bethesda, unfortunately, has not made any confirmations yet.</p>



<h2>9. The Elder Scrolls 6</h2>

<p>Just like Starfield, Bethesda isn't saying much about this explosive new chapter in the Elder Scrolls series. All they had to give us was last year's 37-second announcement teaser, which everyone pounced on with all their conspiracy-theory might. Add that to the fact that it didn't have any more details in this year's E3. It's the formula for maximum hype and Bethesda knows exactly what they're doing.</p> 

<p>What we do know about the game is that it won't be releasing before Starfield, and that means, even more, waiting for us.</p> 

<p>Recently, an article from International Business Times revealed that The Elder Scrolls 6 is currently in its Concept and Design phase so we can be sure it’s still got a long, long way to go.</p>



<h2>10. Grand Theft Auto 6 (tentative title)</h2>

<p>If you thought the last few games were a stretch, we're only just beginning. What with all the success of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/gta-5/">Grand Theft Auto V</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/rockstar-north/">Rockstar</a> has been milking the cow as much as it can</p> 

<p>Because of that, it's understandable that it'll be a while for the next installment. But, if they don't go the Todd Howard way of doing things, we can logically expect that the next, new Grand Theft Auto title will make its debut on the next generation.</p> 

<p>These are all mere speculation though. As for Rockstar, it looks like they're all hands on deck with Red Dead Redemption and haven't made any particular hints on the subject as of yet.</p> 

<p>We'll have to make do with GTA 5 for now.</p>



<h2>11. Horizon Zero Dawn 2 (tentative title)</h2>

<p>The speculation continues with the cybernetic prehistory of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/guerrilla-games/">Guerrilla Games</a>' action RPG. Released a little earlier in 2017, the hype for <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/horizon-zero-dawn/">Horizon Zero Dawn</a> may not be as massive as the later titles, it remains a fan-favorite for some, and definitely worthy of sitting beside Sony's other exquisite exclusives.</p>  

<p>Since the game had a lot more time to stew, it seems a lot more likely for its sequel to come out soon--which might coincide with the PlayStation 5's arrival. There hasn't been any actual confirmation of a sequel from Sony or Guerilla Games. Horizon's voice actors, on the other hand, have spilled the beans.</p>

<p>What platform it will release on, though, remains to be seen.</p>



<h2>12. God of War 2 (tentative title)</h2>

<p>Less likely but still logical is the idea that the next God of War game is going to the PlayStation 5. Even though it just arrived on the scene in 2018, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/god-of-war/">God of War</a> has proved itself to be a worthy title in the Sony lineup, elbowing its way into top spots in almost every list. With that in mind, it's clear that this series will continue to excel and as such, a sequel is likely on the horizons.</p> 

<p>Another clue is that Corey Balrog has been quoted to say that their DLC plans were too ambitious which may mean that their next venture will require a whole lot more power.</p>

<p>Sony has not spoken a word about this at all but their actions do speak otherwise, with a number of job listings being posted by <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/sce-santa-monica-studio/">Sony Santa Monica</a> for a variety of roles.</p> 



<h2>13. Spider-Man 2 (tentative title)</h2>

<p>Another one of Sony's big-time exclusives. The new Spider-Man series will also likely continue its footing on the PlayStation 5. Like God of war, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/marvels-spider-man/">Spider-Man</a> was definitely on the top ranks of 2018's best games, which means the level is only gonna get higher in the coming sequels.</p> 

<p><a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/marvels-spider-man-silver-lining/">Spider-Man's last DLC</a> arrived in December 2018, so more content may not be expected on the PlayStation 4. What is highly likely is their preparing something for the arrival of the PlayStation 5 sometime later in 2020.</p> 

<p>As usual with these speculations, Sony has not made any comments yet.</p>



<h2>14. Project Awakening</h2>

<p><a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/cygames-inc/">Cygames</a>' take on Western role-playing games is one of the more concrete examples on this list. For one, it's actually in development and we've witnessed a lot of it thanks to its official trailer as well as a number of gameplays and interviews.</p> 

<p>Cygames built their name on their mobile titles like Granblue and this marks another venture in console gaming.</p> 

<p>From what we've seen so far, it looks absolutely stunning. While we know that's it's definitely going to happen, it's actual release on the PlayStation 5 is still pure speculation that's based on the fact that's still heavily in development right now.</p> 

<p>It still could be a PS4 title, but it's likely that it'll make some slight adjustments to work on the PS5 too.</p>



<h2>15. Watch Dogs Legion</h2>

<p><a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/ubisoft/">Ubisoft</a>'s ambitious entry to their Watch Dogs is also a possible runner in the PlayStation 5 launch. Legion continues the technological innovations, both in their story as well as their features. Watch Dogs Legion sees players being allowed to play as absolutely anyone who chooses to take part in the rising revolution.</p> 

<p>That's a lot of variety in gameplay, and it's an ambitious feat, to say the least. Since its <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/watch-dogs-legion/">PS4 release</a> will hit close to the the PS5 launch, it's only reasonable that it'll follow shortly after.</p> 

<p>That's exactly what Ubisoft has been hinting at recently. When it will be, we'll have to wait and see.</p>
