More players can finally own a physical copy of Stray, the critically acclaimed game where players become cats. Annapurna Interactive, iam8bit, and Skybound Games all confirmed that they had released the retail physical edition for PS4 on November 8.

PS4 owners can also buy it online at iam8bit's official website. Aside from the game, its physical copy contains six full-color art cards.

Cat fanciers and fans of imaginative adventures can complete their purrfect Stray collection today, distributors said in a press release. PS4 players can also upgrade the game to its new-gen version for free, distributors added.

According to earlier reports, the PS4 retail physical edition costs US$39.99. It is the second physical edition gaming companies have released for Stray. They launched a physical edition of the third-person adventure game earlier in September. However, it was exclusive to PS5 consoles only.

Due to popular demand, distributors announced later that they would also ship physical copies for the PS4 in November.

Meanwhile, iam8bit, the American creative production company, has begun accepting pre-orders for its Exclusive Edition of Stray.

In the fourth quarter of 2022, PS4 and PS5 owners will be able to buy the upcoming Exclusive Edition. It includes a poster, six art cards, and a fuzzy cat patch.

iam8bit will also release a double LP vinyl soundtrack by composer Yann Van Der Cruyssen. They said fans could expect to get their hands on this game collectible early next year.

After approximately seven years in development, Stray launched on PC, PS5, and PS4 last July. It was developed by BlueTwelve Studio and published by Annapurna Interactive. Players take control of a cat as it attempts to escape a walled city infested with mutant bacteria, deadly robots, and machines.

At that time, the game only had a digital version. Stray received wide, critical acclaim with a playscore of 8.9 on PC.
