The award-winning indie game <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/sky-children-of-the-light/">Sky: Children of the Light</a> will debut on PlayStation 4 this month. 

<a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/thatgamecompany/">Thatgamecompany</a> confirmed that Sky: Children of the Light will go live on PlayStation beginning this December 6. The Santa Monica-based gaming studio also said the game could support cross-play. This means players can save their progress between mobile and console devices.

<q>PlayStation players can look forward to wandering Sky: Children of the Light's beautiful world, unraveling its history, and forming bonds with other adventurers from around the globe,</q> they added.

Meanwhile, Thatgamecompany also announced that Norwegian singer <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aurora_(singer)">AURORA</a> would headline the game's upcoming virtual concert.

Organizers are expecting more than 4,000 players of Sky: Children of the Light to join the occasion on December 8. They said that the event would be "revolutionary." They added it will be "powered by a proprietary game engine."

Thatgamecompany unveiled its plans to expand Sky: Children of the Light to PlayStation last August. Their announcement came a year after they <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/sky-children-of-the-light/">released the game for Nintendo Switch</a>.

<a href="https://whatoplay.com/ios/sky-children-of-the-light/">Sky: Children of the Light first came out in 2019 for iOS devices</a>. A year later, they <a href="https://whatoplay.com/android/sky-children-of-the-light/">welcomed Android players into the Realms</a>. The game received positive reviews and even multiple awards and accolades.

Apple gave Sky: Children of the Light the 2019 iPhone Game of the Year award. Its developers also received the Game Developers Choice Awards 2020 a year later. Google also named it the Play Store's Best Indie Games of 2020.

Since its launch in 2019, Sky: Children of the Light has generated over 160 million downloads.
