<p>While Steam has made it easier for users to buy games, they also have a nifty option to let you send games as gifts for other people.
The process is simple enough for any user.</p>

<p>First, go to the main page of the game you want to buy. Then, click ‘Add to Cart’. You can add multiple games to your cart at one time.</p>

<p>After adding your games, you should be able to view them in your cart. Right next to the main image of the game, you’ll see a gray bar that says ‘For My Account’. Click the button and select the option ‘This is a gift’. This means that you want to buy the game for another person.</p>

<p>Afterwards, you can click on ‘Continue to Gift Options’ and finish the payment process.</p>

<p>Remember that the person you’re giving the gift to needs to have a Steam account. Plus they should also be a part of your Friends List.</p>

<p>When it comes to sending your gift, Steam will also give you the option to send a message along with your gift. Make sure to write down the name of the recipient and your sentiment to them while signing off on your gift.</p>

<p>Steam also gives you an option to have the gift delivered on a specific day.   This could be useful for scheduling gifts ahead of time.</p>

<h2>Aside from games, can you gift DLC? Soundtracks? Bundle?</h2>

<p>Of course. All you have to do is go to the main page of the DLC/Soundtrack/Bundle and follow the same process. Steam's gifting options for DLCs, bundles, and soundtracks are the same as those for regular games.</p>  

<h2>Epic doesn’t support gifting yet, or does it?</h2>

<p>Officially, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/post/epic-gifts/">there are still no gift options on Epic Games Store</a>. The best you can do right now is send money directly to the person you want to send a gift to. That way, they can buy a game on the Epic Games Store themselves.</p> 

<p>Others suggest logging into your friend’s account and buying the game there to keep them surprised.</p>

<p>Even though there isn’t an official option yet, multiple players have discussed it on the forums. It’s possible that EGS is already keeping the gifting option in mind for future updates.</p>

<h2>Does GoG support gifting?</h2>

<p>Yes, <a href="'https://whatoplay.com/post/gog-gifts/">GOG.com also supports gifting</a>. Simply purchase the order like usual. But before you pay for it, make sure to check the ‘Gift This Order’ option. This will open a window which will let you input the e-mail of the person you are gifting the game to. You will also have the option to leave a message along with your purchased gift.</p>

<p>I am OBSESSED with cozy games.  If there’s a genre  that I play the most right now, it’s cozy. I’m just addicted to the vibe. Chances are, you are too… have you ever wondered why?</p>

<p>Cozy games have taken the industry by storm.  Every direct, showcase, or state of play, there’s bound to be games specifically for the cozy community… But what even are cozy games?</p>

<h2>What are cozy games?</h2>

<p>What is the first thing you think of when you think of cozy games?  It’s probably <a href="https://whatoplay.com/3ds/animal-crossing-new-leaf/" title="Animal Crossing: New Leaf on 3DS">Animal Crossing</a> or <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/stardew-valley/" title="Stardew Valley on PC">Stardew Valley</a>… a cute little farming game where you interact with a colorful cast of NPCs.  It’s all very chill, you can do whatever you want to do at your own time.</p>

<p>Is that all there is to cozy games?  Nope.</p>

<p>Unlike most video game genres, the “<a href="https://whatoplay.com/best/cozy/" title="Best cozy Games">cozy game genre</a>” is not bound by mechanics.  <a href="https://whatoplay.com/best/first-person-shooter/" title="Best FPS Games">First person shooters</a> are games where you shoot things in the first person perspective… </p>

<p>Cozy games are more defined by how they make us feel.  Warm.  Relaxed.  Intimate.  <em>Cozy</em>.</p>

<p>I’d say there are three kinds? Types? Hmm it’s more of the main points in the spectrum of cozy games.</p>

<p>Number one.  <strong>Pure Cozy</strong>.  These are games that are cozy through and through… from the gameplay, to the sound and visual… to the story so think Animal Crossing or Stardew. Also non-farming games like <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/melatonin/" title="Melatonin on PC">Melatonin</a>, a very aesthetically pleasing rhythm game… or <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/a-short-hike/" title="A Short Hike on PC">A Short Hike</a> or <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/lil-gator-game/" title="Lil Gator Game on PC">Lil Gator Game</a>… these are small, short <a href="https://whatoplay.com/best/open-world/" title="Best Open World Games on PC, consoles, and mobile">open-world games</a>, with really simple quests… and you can just do whatever you want for the most part.  I’d also add <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/new-pokemon-snap/" title="New Pokemon Snap on Switch">Pokemon snap</a>… a game where we literally just take endless photos of cute pokemon.</p>

<p>There’s a lot of pure cozy games on mobile… a really popular one on Tiktok is <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/good-pizza-great-pizza/" title="Good Pizza, Great Pizza on PC">Good Pizza, Great Pizza</a>… and tons of other cute cafe style games. </p> 

Number two.  <strong>Dark Cozy</strong>.  These are the games that may be cute and cozy on the outside… but the story is deep and you have a 100% chance of crying… or at least I do.

<p>Games like the <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/life-is-strange/" title="Life is Strange on PC">Life is Strange</a> series – where I just cry at the end of EVERY episode.</p>

<p>Or <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/planet-of-lana/" title="Planet of Lana on PC">Planet of Lana</a> –  a side-scrolling <a href="https://whatoplay.com/best/platformer/" title="Best Platformer Games">platformer</a> with beautiful backdrops, but then your sister gets kidnapped by alien robots.</p>

<p><a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/spiritfarer/" title="Spirit Farer on PS4">Spirit Farer</a> – a game that I love but I can’t finish because I am not ready to  let go.  I’ve been hurt way too many times.</p>

<p><a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/omori/" title="Omori on PC">Omori</a> – a very cute and colorful pixel game with themes of depression, anxiety and unaliving oneself. </p>

Number three.  <strong>Part Cozy</strong>.  These games are not really cozy games but they have cozy elements.  Significant sections in the gameplay that really have the vibe.

<p>A few examples would be…</p>

<p><a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/the-legend-of-zelda-breath-of-the-wild/" title="The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on Switch">The Legend of Zelda Breath of the wild</a>.. Or even <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/hollow-knight/" title="Hollow Knight on PC">Hollow Knight</a>. controversial. Yes, this game is difficult.  But when you find a place to rest and just enjoy the view…, it’s so beautiful and relaxing.</p>

<p>Still, I think cozy games are a spectrum.  A lot of these games are in-between pure and dark… like <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/cozy-grove/" title="Cozy Grove on PC">Cozy Grove</a> – a game about a spirit scout and the cute ghosts they help.  It has dark elements, but it’s still pretty light.</p>

<p>Or <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/dont-starve/" title="Don't Starve on PC">Don’t Starve…</a> a traditionally NOT Cozy game.  It’s a <a href="https://whatoplay.com/best/survival/" title="Best Survival Games on PC, consoles, and mobile">survival game</a> where you get kidnapped to this alternative world called the Constant and you have to survive not only from hunger but also from the creatures that lurk in the dark…   With a few tweaks in the settings, or downright installing a mod, it can be played mostly cozy.</p>

<p>So yeah, Pure Cozy, Dark Cozy Part Cozy.  My favorite kind is Dark Cozy because it challenges me to reflect a bit more.  Let me know what yours is in the comments below.</p>


<h2>Why do I play cozy games so much?</h2>

<p>Now that we have established the different kinds of cozy games, here’s why I play them so much.</p>


<h3>1. Easy peasy, pumpkin peasy / Cozy games are easy.</h3>

<p>I am not a very patient person… and I’m gonna be honest, I don’t really have that much time to play games.  So when I start a new game, I don’t want to have to learn so many things before I get to the good parts.</p>

<p>That’s one of the things I love about cozy games.  Most of them are casual games that are super easy to get into.  There’s no need to wade through an hour-long tutorial…</p>

<p>So less time trying to figure out how everything works… more time getting to what actually matters.</p>

<h3>2. This game made me feel feelings / Cozy games as a form of self - care</h3>

<p>I play games as a form of self-care.  To escape the hustle and bustle of life for a little bit.  Reset.  Look at something pretty and low-stress.</p>

<p>Sure, I sometimes need something hype and intense to de-stress… but most days, I  just need some lofi beats in the background, and a game that doesn’t take too much brain capacity to play.  Like a spa day… but for my brain.</p>

<p>It’s more than that.  Remember my favorite kind of cozy game? Dark Cozy.  One of my all-time favorite cozy games is <a href="https://whatoplay.com/android/gris/" title="GRIS on Android">GRIS</a>… a beautiful platformer with no dialog.. It made me cry at least 4 times the first time I played it.  I interpreted the very subtle story as one about overcoming grief… specifically the death of a loved one, in this case, her mom.</p>

<p>Some cozy games can be pretty dark… but never traumatizing, really.  Instead, a lot of these games invite the player to be introspective… to reflect on their lives and emotions through the beautiful, soulful, and sometimes gut-wrenching stories they tell.</p>

<p>A new game I played recently that really moved me was <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/venba/" title="Venba on PC">Venba</a>.  It’s a very short game about an immigrant family.  They are migrating from India to Canada.  We play the game for the most part through the eyes of Venba, the matriarch of the family.  Like most asian moms, she expresses her love for her family through food.  Delicious Indian food.  Playing this made me so hungry.</p>

<p>Even though I am not an immigrant, nor am I Indian, I still connected so much with this game. It made me think about my cousins and what it was like for them to grow up in America as Filipinos.  I thought about the sacrifices my mom had to make to feed me and send me to school, and then realizing in retrospect just how ungrateful I was by not eating my lunch.</p>

<p>While the game was short, because it was still a slow game where I could take as long as I wanted to think and absorb the story, it effectively gripped my heart and left me in tears.</p>


<h3>3. Escaping the doom and gloom of real life / Cozy games to escape.</h3>


<p>Animal Crossing was the golden game of 2020. The game that saved the entire world from completely falling into the depths of depression in the height of the pandemic – and for good reason.</p>

<p>Animal Crossing, and games like it can transport us to a world without woe.  A world where everything is perfect, unlike the hell we were in a few years ago.</p>

<p>While I did not play Animal Crossing in 2020, I sympathize with these escapists because at the time, I could think of nothing better than frollicking in the wide fields of Hyrule, solving simple little <a href="https://whatoplay.com/best/puzzle/" title="Best Puzzle Games on PC, consoles, and mobile">puzzles</a> to find Koroks, and discovering all the recipes I could create on a crock pot with nothing more than 5 random ingredients, and endless gluttony as Link.</p>

<p>Even now, post-pandemic, we’re still playing cozy games to escape.  Life didn’t get easier after Covid.  Cozy games are still here because life is hard.</p>

<p>We all need something that isn't going to stress us out more than we already are.</p>

<h2>Future</h2>

<p>I think cozy games will keep getting popular. There is a huge audience for it.</p>

<p>The main cozy playerbase are in their 20s to late 50s (depending on the game). These are people with disposable income for the games they want to play, and all the cute things related to them.</p>

<p>While the vocal audience and content creators that help spread the word of cozy games are predominantly feminine, the genre isn’t really constrained by gender.  Despite how it looks on the outside, the audience (at least on our channel) and playerbase of cozy games are closer to 50/50 between males and females.</p>

<p>The genre is so diverse, there are endless possibilities for potential concepts. It’s near impossible to get bored of it. </p>

<p>The developers, publishers, and brands see this trend and they’ll continue to create more games and merch.</p> 

<p>Just as there is space for heart pumping, skill-based, high-energy games… There is also room to get cozy… and I can’t wait to play more.</p>

<p>The best game to beat the heat this summer is Ice Cream Truck - Yo.Doggies.  As the name suggests, it’s an ice cream truck simulator.  It’s so adorable, I want stickers for all the animals and all the ice cream toppings! The gameplay is simple, and since this game is new, it’s still pretty short.  I’m so excited to see the future updates and upgrades.</p>

<h2>2. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ios/boba-story/" title="Boba Story iOS game">Boba Story</a></h2>

<p>If bubble tea is more your cup of tea, then try Boba Story.  We’re currently playing this game on our Tiktok on Wednesdays. In this game, you introduce boba to a world of animal people.  The best part is you can actually create recipes for the drinks you sell — that way you can recreate all of your favorite milk tea flavors!</p>

<p>Moving on to games you can play while doing other things… Cats and Soup. This is an <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ios/free/idle/" title="Free Idle iOS Games">idle</a> game where you can watch cute kitties make endless bowls of soup. It’s the perfect game to play on the side while working or studying… the cats in this game take breaks… it is like a gentle reminder to take it easy every once and a while.</p>

<h2>4. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ios/cats-and-soup/" title="Secret Cat Forest iOS game">Secret Cat Forest</a></h2>

<p>Another idle cat themed game that was recommended by one of our Channel Members, Raj, is Secret Cat Forest.  In this, you decorate a tree-house to make it as cat friendly as possible. If the cats like what they see in your treehouse, the might stay a while!  So, collect sticks to craft the cutest furniture with, and catch some fish.  Next thing you know, you got a full house of cats.</p>

<p>For those of us who like games with touching stories, check out Summer of Memories Ver 2. You might have guessed from the title that this game will make you feel nostalgic for childhood summers.  And true, this is about one boy’s summer at his dad’s place. Yes, this is also an idle game but it’s not endless.  There are characters you’ll meet here that you will think about long after you’ve finished.</p>

<h2>6. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ios/sky-children-of-the-light/" title="Sky: Children of the Light iOS game">Sky: Children of the Light</a></h2>

<p>This next game might be something you’ve already heard about, but in case you haven’t yet… you’ve got to try Sky: Children of the Light. Their tagline reads “play together with compassion.”  And that’s exactly what this whole experience is about. There are seven realms to journey through with friends we meet along the way.  We can take our time relaxing and playing around, or we can go uncovering the mysteries of the stars.</p>

<h2>7. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ios/love-is-in-small-things/" title="Love is in… small things iOS game">Love is in… small things</a></h2>

<p>Another one that will make you go “awww”, is Love is in… small things. It’s a hidden object game with art made by Puuung… from the drawings, to the music. It tells the story of a young couple, from how they met, to how they fell in love, and more.  Don’t worry, this is not a sad game. It’s described as a stress-free emotional healing art game.</p>

It’s a puzzle that may teach you a thing or two about color perspective.  You solve the puzzle, by arranging the colors into a perfect gradient. Nintendo Indie World Showcase: Full List of Unveiled Indie Games

<p>I love my Nintendo Switch. But I don’t think it’s a great buy right now…Here are 3 reasons why.</p>

<h2>Reason #1: The switch is not as affordable as it seems.</h2>

<p>Sure, it’s cheaper than a <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/">PS5</a>, or a decent <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/">PC</a> set up. You can get a <a href="https://amzn.to/3RVjWDE" rel="nofollow">brand new Switch on Amazon at $350</a>. Compare this to the <a href="https://amzn.to/3K5sru5" title="nofollow">Xbox Series S, which is priced at $300</a>. And while the Switch can play games fine, it won’t run nearly as well as the Series S.</p>

<p><a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/best/" title="Best Switch games">Games on the Switch</a> are also notoriously expensive.  Big first party games rarely go on sale. Even some older third party games are more expensive on the Switch than on other platforms. There’s a cheaper alternative.  Buy or trade used physical switch games.  But let’s be real, most of us will end up buying digital games anyway, for the convenience.</p>


<h2>Reason #2 The next generation is on the horizon, maybe.</h2>

<p>Nintendo releases a brand new console every five to five and a half years.  We’re at the 6 year mark now.  Let’s be generous and say that the lifespan of the Switch as the golden boy of Nintendo will be 7 years, that’s only 2 more years before they release a new console And then the FOMO sets in.</p>

<p>Worst yet, Miyamoto of Nintendo has gone on record to say that compatibility between generations is not their main focus when developing a new console. <a href="https://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/pdf/2022/221109_2e.pdf">Source</a></p>

<p>If they stick with this philosophy, then that plays a part in how future proof the switch is. If you play switch games, you will notice frame rate drops, or decreased graphical fidelity.  And it affects even first party titles. It’s often not that bad, and most games on the platform are perfectly playable. But I worry about future game releases.</p>

<p>So will there be a new Nintendo console soon?  Nintendo is pretty quiet about whether or not they’re releasing a new console this year.  Looking back, they officially announced the Nintendo Switch 5 months before its release. If they release a new console in time for Tears of the Kingdom, they have until later this month to reveal it.</p> 


<h2>Reason #3: There are better alternatives in the market.</h2>

<p>The <a href="https://whatoplay.com/steamdeck/">Steam Deck</a> is a popular handheld alternative, as it’s a full PC in the palm of your hands.  That means a huge library of cheap games.  All hail the steam sale.   It isn’t widely available, though, and third party sellers usually add a premium.</p>

<p>My next recommendation is the Xbox Series S.  Because it’s affordable, and gamepass is an amazing deal. This is perfect if you tend to finish single-player games once and never return to them. Like I do.</p> 

<p>And next is, a hot take, an iPad. iPads these days are pretty powerful, they have amazing screens, plus great support.  Apple Arcade is pretty good too, but there are still not a lot of big games and it is more expensive.</p>


<p>UNLESS, you really want to play exclusive nintendo switch games, in that case  go get it, right now.</p>

<h2>10. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/bayonetta-3/" title="Bayonetta 3 on Nintendo Switch">Bayonetta 3</a></h2>

<p>Ahh, the pigtailed witch herself.  This one got widely different ratings from critics.  Some gave it a 6, while others closer to a perfect 10/10.  Is it the worst? Or is it the best of the series? Which is it?</p>

<p>Blame it on the Infernal Demons that you can summon in battle. These incredible monsters can imbue Bayonetta with extra powers, too.  However, while they are active Bayonetta can still sustain damages. You really have to be strategic about when you release your demons.</p>

<p>But the best part of Bayonetta 3 has to be the other characters you get to play.  Jeanne in her 2D stealth missions, or Viola with her unique movesets. These two may challenge the habits of long term fans and contribute to the game feeling fresh all throughout.</p> 

<p>And with that, this highly replayable game gets a <strong>playscore of 8.9</strong>.</p>


<h2>9. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/mario-rabbids-sparks-of-hope/" title="Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope on Nintendo Switch">Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope</a></h2>

<p><a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/mario-plus-rabbids-kingdom-battle/">Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle</a> was an unexpectedly great game.  The sequel is even better.  This seems to be the running theme of the video.</p>

<p>Sparks of Hope gets its name from Sparks. These cute little creatures give buffs that you can mix and match with the 9 characters you unlock in the game. Since a lot of characters can already be unlocked after beating the first world, it’s so much easier to learn how they synergize with each other, making this tactical RPG that much deeper.</p> 

<p>As expected, this mario game remains accessible to anyone from little kids to adults.  Actually, maybe this time even more so with the customizable difficulty – like how much health is restored at every new level, enemies’ health and damage, and more.</p>

<p>Sparks of Hope shines with a <strong>playscore of 8.9</strong>.</p>

<h2>8. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/splatoon-3/" title="Splatoon 3 on Nintendo Switch">Splatoon 3</a></h2>

<p>At first, it might seem a little redundant. Why would Nintendo release Splatoon 3 on the Switch when we already have <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/splatoon-2/">Splatoon 2</a>? Well, that’s because they made it better.  Quality of life improvements, better visuals, better lobby systems, new classes, new weapons, and even new moves (squid roll, and squid surge).</p>

<p>If you’ve played the <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/splatoon-2-octo-expansion/">Octo Expansion on Splatoon 2</a>, this one will feel very familiar – even down to the server problems, let’s be honest.  But the new story, the training systems and all the little things Nintendo added on release nets this game a <strong>playscore of 8.9</strong>.</p>

<h2>7. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/no-mans-sky/" title="No Man’s Sky on Nintendo Switch">No Man’s Sky</a></h2>

<p>It’s truly shocking how well No Man’s Sky works on the Switch.  This is what happens when the team keeps working on making their games better. Is it the most high definition version of the game you can play out there– psh no… BUT games are more than their graphics!  This one remains to be an interplanetary explorer’s dream.</p> 

<p>Plus there’s so much to do!  Learning alien languages, looting other space ships, or even just building your home on an idyllic planet somewhere. We really miss having the multiplayer mode on the Switch version.  As a single-player only experience, it gets a <strong>playscore of 9.0</strong>.</p>

<h2>6. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-shredders-revenge/" title="Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge on Nintendo Switch">Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge</a></h2>

<p>Now if you want to play multiplayer, Shredder’s Revenge is a great pick up.  Sure, you can play this solo, but it’s just not the same.</p>

<p>This is a great tribute to old-school arcade beat-em-ups – from the art direction, down to the controls and mechanics. The story mode is so much fun and easy enough for beginners to enjoy, while <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/best/arcade/" title="Best Nintendo Switch Arcade Games">arcade</a> is the mode where most veterans will get their fix from. This one gets a 9/10.</p>

<h2>5. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/ai-the-somnium-files-nirvana-initiative/" title="AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES - nirvanA Initiative on Nintendo Switch">AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES - nirvanA Initiative</a></h2>

<p>For the uninitiated, this one’s a murder mystery visual novel with hard puzzles, great writing, and a cast of quirky characters. The way we solve the mysteries in this game involve going deep into our suspects’ subconscious to look for possible clues and motives.</p>

<p>New in NirvanA Initiative are the VR sequences for recreating crime scenes.  These remind me so much of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/detroit-become-human/">Detroit Become Human</a>’s Connor investigation scenes. I don’t want to spoil it, so that’s it for a game that has a <strong>playscore of 9.1</strong>.</p>

<h2>4. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/kirby-and-the-forgotten-land/" title="Kirby and the Forgotten Land on Nintendo Switch">Kirby and the Forgotten Land</a></h2>

<p>This post-apocalyptic, cute as heck game about a pink ball who likes to suck just feels so right.  This is how Kirby should be played – in a true 3D setting.  It’s intuitive, colorful, and the new mechanics are oh so satisfying.</p>

<p>Kirby games are primarily aimed at kids so they’re usually super easy, but this one’s FINALLY got a wild mode.  It’s still not Elden Ring hard, of course, but we finally get a hint of a challenge for older Kirby fans. This adora-ball gets a <strong>playscore of 9.1</strong>.</p>

<h2>3. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/13-sentinels-aegis-rim/" title="13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim on Nintendo Switch">13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim</a></h2>

<p>As Jayne from whatoplay.com puts it, <q>there are some stories that would only work in [video] game[s].  This one is a perfect example</q>.</p>

<p>This game has an extremely complex story starring 13 playable characters who are destined to eventually pilot machines called the Sentinels.  It’s a post-apocalyptic story  filled with so many plot twists and multiple endings. </p> 

<p>It’s a beautiful mix of visual novel storytelling and mech strategy. During mech battles, frame rate drops are noticeable but ultimately don't affect gameplay all that much.  And so, it gets a <strong>playscore of 9.2</strong>.</p>

<h2>2. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/nierautomata-the-end-of-yorha-edition/" title="NieR: Automata The End of YoRHa Edition on Nintendo Switch">NieR: Automata The End of YoRHa Edition</a></h2>

<p>5 years after first being <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/nier-automata-game-of-the-yorha-edition/" title="NieR Automata - Game of the YoRHa Edition on PC">released on PC</a>, the Switch finally gets NieR: Automata The End of Yorha Edition which is the base game plus all the DLCs in one package.  And it is nothing short of a miracle.</p>

<p>While it’s not as detailed as on other platforms, it’s crisp and vibrant.  It only runs on 30 fps on the switch, whoa, big surprise there, but it’s absolutely fine.  Frame rate drops for this big of a game is expected on the switch, but it doesn’t happen enough times to spoil the experience.</p>

<p>This portable version of a modern classic gets a <strong>playscore of 9</strong>.</p>


<h2>1. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/xenoblade-chronicles-3/" title="Xenoblade Chronicles 3 on Nintendo Switch">Xenoblade Chronicles 3</a></h2>

<p>This was so worth the wait.  Just like Nier, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is a revelation on the switch.  It’s a huge <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/best/open-world/">open-world</a> jam packed with incredible action, and well rounded characters.</p>

<p>Honestly, more than anything, the characters and the relationships they build with one another is the highlight of this game.  There are so many meaningful  moments that aren’t just exposition dumps sprinkled throughout.</p>

<p>By the time you finish the hundred hours needed to complete the game, you will be attached to all of these guys.  Friendship truly is magic. So yeah, it’s been fun. A <strong>playscore of 9.3</strong>.</p>

10 Best Nintendo Switch Games of 2022

<p>Following recent announcements by EA and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/ubisoft/">Ubisoft</a>, prices of AAA releases will soon start at $70. I wouldn't be surprised if other publishers follow suit. This trend may even trickle down to <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/best/indie/" title="Best Indie Games">indie games</a>. So expect game prices to shoot up in the next couple of years.</p>

<p>On the other hand, there are awesome hidden gems that you can buy for under $10. Here are five new PlayStation 4 games under ten bucks.</p>


<h2>1. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/mothmen-1966/">Mothmen 1966</a> ($8.99)</h2>

<p>Let's start with a pixelated, 80's style visual novel. In Mothmen 1966 you uncover a conspiracy involving winged beasts. There are quite a few mini-games to play and choices to make. While they won't exactly change the ending, one wrong decision and you can wind up dead.</p>

<h2>2. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/slipstream/">Slipstream</a> ($9.99)</h2>
<p>Here's another release inspired by the audio-visual experience of late 80s to early 90s games. An arcade racer with local multiplayer built in. To complete the experience, it even comes with a built-in CRT and NTSC filters</p>


<h2>3. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/a-memoir-blue/">A Memoir Blue</a> ($7.99)</h2>
<p>This is a short, 'interactive poem' about the deep love between mother and daughter. It may be just an hour long but the story and emotional journey is not one to miss.</p>

<h2>4. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/risk-system/">Risk System</a> ($9.99)</h2>

<p>If story based games aren't your thing and you'd rather play something action-packed, this is for you. Energy parasites has breached a dimensional gate and are on a rampage to overtake humanity. Let the bullets rain down on them. Surprisingly, it doesn't have a dedicated shoot button.</p>

<h2>5. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/blade-runner-enhanced-edition/">Blade Runner: Enchanced Edition</a> ($9.99)</h2>
<p>Be warned, this is not for everyone. It's a port (remake) of a game from 25 years ago. It didn't age well: blocky characters, outdated textures, and awkward controls. But if you're looking for just another dose of nostalgia, it might be for you.</p>
