Xbox was one of the first to showcase their games for Tokyo Games Show 2024. In their live event, the studio delivered an exciting array of announcements for games coming to Xbox consoles and PC.

The showcase had a mix of remasters like the Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/suikoden-iii-hd-remaster-gate-rune-and-dunan-unification-wars/">Suikoden I & II HD</a>, alongside new titles like <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/slitterhead/">Slitterhead</a> from Silent Hill creator Keiichiro Toyama.

Another highlight was the new trailer for <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/metal-gear-solid-delta-snake-eater/">Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater</a>, the remake of the classic stealth-action game. 

The show also featured several announcements aimed at JRPG enthusiasts, including the reveal of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/atelier-yumia-the-alchemist-of-memories--the-envisioned-land/">Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land</a> coming to Xbox for the first time, and the highly anticipated <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/dragon-quest-iii-hd2d-remake/">Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake</a>.

In their live event, the studio delivered an exciting array of announcements for games coming to Xbox consoles and PC.

Xbox @ Tokyo Games Show: All 21 Games Featured

The PS5 Pro, the latest in Sony's long line of powerhouse consoles, will be released on November 7, 2024 and we already have a few games to look forward to.

At $699.99, the PS5 Pro boasts a few choice upgrades. Not only will it feature an upgraded 2TB Solid State Drive, it will also have advanced ray-tracing, an upgraded GPU, and the PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution which uses AI to enhance image quality.

Sounds like the end of all pixels and loading screens.

<a href="https://whatoplay.com/post/ps5pro-reveal/">The response hasn't been all great</a>. Users have criticized the PS5 Pro for its price point and its minimal upgrades from the supposedly "next-gen" PS5.

However, there is one cause for celebration. The PS5 Pro Game Boost will allow more than 8,500 of the <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/best/">top PS4 games</a> to be backwards compatible on the PS5 Pro. 

And on top of that, there a few specially enhanced games are on the way to the PS5 Pro's collection.

Upcoming Enhanced Games for PS5 Pro

Exciting times for indie.io. The independent video game publisher announced on September 12 its participation at the Tokyo Game Show (TGS).

In a statement, indie.io revealed they will showcase at least 10 upcoming titles in the week-long event.

From September 26 to 29, attendees can visit indie.io at Booth 09-E49 in the Indie Game Area to experience hands-on demos. They will also have the opportunity to connect with developers behind these exciting projects.

Indie.io revealed they will showcase at least 10 upcoming titles in the week-long event

indie.io is Going to Tokyo Game Show

Exciting news for Switch fans of the tactical roguelike deckbuilder <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/wildfrost/">Wildfrost</a>.

The physical edition of the hit 2023 game for Nintendo Switch is coming soon. Publisher Super Rare Games announced that they will roll out the physical copies on September 12.

But there's a catch.

This limited edition of Wildfrost will only have a total of 4,000 copies.
In a press release, Super Rare Games revealed that the physical versions will come in two packages. These are the Standard Editions and the Deluxe Edition.

There will be 3,000 copies of the Standard Edition which will be sold worldwide. Meanwhile, the Deluxe Edition will only be available at 1,000 copies. The Deluxe Edition will contain the base game as well as exclusive game merchandise. These included Joy-Con thumb grips and a wooden jangly charm.

Players who can purchase the Deluxe Edition will also receive a Noomlin bookmark, a fridge magnet, a CD soundtrack, postcards, trading cards, a manual, and a sticker.

Wildfrost first came out in 2023 via PC and Switch. The game is set in the fictional town of Snowdwell, where an endless winter reigns. The premise of the game is simple: players take on a quest to end the eternal cold.

To do so, they must build a powerful deck of card companions and elemental items. Not only to combat the encroaching frost but also to banish it once and for all.

Players assemble a team of randomly generated adventurers and engage in turn-based card battles against enemies.

Aside from the combination of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/best/roguelike/">roguelike</a> and deckbuilding elements, Wildfrost also features a vibrant cartoon art style.

Upon its release, the game received generally positive feedback from critics and gamers. Some critics like UK-based gaming magazine Rock Paper Shotgun, however, pointed out that 'luck sometimes seems to play too much of role.'

"(But it was still) a genuinely fun game, with charming details and rewarding tactical combat," portions of their review stated.

On whatoplay, Wildfrost receiveed a playscore of 8.6 on PC.

Due to its commercial success, the game also expanded to mobile devices. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/post/wildfrost-android-ios-announcement/">The mobile version of Wildfrost released</a> last April 2024.

Now, with China's notable entry in Black Myth, it seems like we will have a new contender for the top spots in gaming. Upcoming Chinese-developed Games to Look Forward To

Just after the <a href="https://whatoplay.com/post/gamescom-onl-2024/">Gamescom 2024 presentations</a>, Nintendo chimed in with their own set of exciting news and updates. Nintendo took a new approach with their August 2024 Nintendo Direct by combining the Partner Showcase with the Indie World presentations.

Future Games Show's gamescom event offered viewers a slew of world premieres, developer presentations, and reveals for some of the most anticipated games of 2024 and beyond.

In a move that is sure to delight fans, CD PROJEKT RED has announced that the critically acclaimed <a href="whatoplay.com/best/open-world/">open-world</a> RPG <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/the-witcher-3-wild-hunt/">The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt</a> is now available to PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers. 

This means that players with an Extra or Premium tier PlayStation Plus membership can download and play through the entire base game. The game is available on PlayStation 4 and 5 consoles.

Beyond the core game, the PlayStation version also includes all the bonus content inspired by the Witcher series on Netflix.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has long been heralded as one of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/best/rpg/">the greatest RPGs of all time</a>. Currently, it stands as one of the all-time best games on Playstation and PC. 

The Witcher 3 first launched in 2015 to universal acclaim, winning over 250 Game of the Year awards. 

In 2022, the game received a substantial next-gen update bringing with it visual enhancements, faster load times, and technical improvements. These incude faster load times, integrated mods, and ray-tracing.

PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers can now experience the full scope of this masterpiece, from its engrossing main storyline to its wealth of side quests and optional content.

Developer and Publisher 11 Bit Studios is launching <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/creatures-of-ava/">Creatures of Ava</a> on August 7. The upcoming exploration game is their latest work with developers Inverge Studios and Chibig.

Creatures of Ava is an environmental story about the planet of Ava. Under the threat of an infection called The Withering, Ava and its wildlife inhabitants are on the brink of collapse.

Players take on the role of Vic, an explorer who crashes onto the planet alongside her companion Tabitha. It's up to Vic the players to wander around Ava and save the planet's beautiful creatures. 

Unlike most games, Creatures of Ava is a non-violent adventure. Instead, players will use a magical flute that will help them tame and befriend the wildlife.

Aside from the game's gorgeous visuals, Creatures of Ava also features a heartfelt story. It explores themes of empathy, environmental protection, and the wisdom of letting go.

Creatures of Ava is co-written by the award-winning videogame writer Rhianna Pratchett. She is renowned for her work on <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/mirrors-edge/">Mirror's Edge</a> and Crystal Dynamics' <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/tomb-raider/">Tomb Raider</a>. In 2016, D.I.C.E awarded her with the Outstanding Achievement in Videogame Writing for her work on <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/rise-of-the-tomb-raider/">Rise of the Tomb Raider</a>.

Creatures of Ava is the latest game from the publisher and developer, 11bit Studios. The studio has worked on Frostpunk which remains one of <a href="whatoplay.com/ps4/best/">PS4's all-time best games</a>. Its sequel, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/post/frostpunk2-delay/">Frostpunk 2</a>, is set to release on PC on September 20 following a delay.

Creatures of Ava is set to release on PC via Steam and Xbox Series X|S.
