Exciting news for Switch fans of the tactical roguelike deckbuilder <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/wildfrost/">Wildfrost</a>.

The physical edition of the hit 2023 game for Nintendo Switch is coming soon. Publisher Super Rare Games announced that they will roll out the physical copies on September 12.

But there's a catch.

This limited edition of Wildfrost will only have a total of 4,000 copies.
In a press release, Super Rare Games revealed that the physical versions will come in two packages. These are the Standard Editions and the Deluxe Edition.

There will be 3,000 copies of the Standard Edition which will be sold worldwide. Meanwhile, the Deluxe Edition will only be available at 1,000 copies. The Deluxe Edition will contain the base game as well as exclusive game merchandise. These included Joy-Con thumb grips and a wooden jangly charm.

Players who can purchase the Deluxe Edition will also receive a Noomlin bookmark, a fridge magnet, a CD soundtrack, postcards, trading cards, a manual, and a sticker.

Wildfrost first came out in 2023 via PC and Switch. The game is set in the fictional town of Snowdwell, where an endless winter reigns. The premise of the game is simple: players take on a quest to end the eternal cold.

To do so, they must build a powerful deck of card companions and elemental items. Not only to combat the encroaching frost but also to banish it once and for all.

Players assemble a team of randomly generated adventurers and engage in turn-based card battles against enemies.

Aside from the combination of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/best/roguelike/">roguelike</a> and deckbuilding elements, Wildfrost also features a vibrant cartoon art style.

Upon its release, the game received generally positive feedback from critics and gamers. Some critics like UK-based gaming magazine Rock Paper Shotgun, however, pointed out that 'luck sometimes seems to play too much of role.'

"(But it was still) a genuinely fun game, with charming details and rewarding tactical combat," portions of their review stated.

On whatoplay, Wildfrost receiveed a playscore of 8.6 on PC.

Due to its commercial success, the game also expanded to mobile devices. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/post/wildfrost-android-ios-announcement/">The mobile version of Wildfrost released</a> last April 2024.
