While the fighting is at the very core of Mortal Kombat 11, NetherRealm Studios has given themselves a reputation for storytelling within their games. MK11 came with its own solid campaign with EarthRealm fighting against Kronika, but now NetherRealm is teasing the continuation of the story.
Here’s the teaser:
If anything, the end could be mistaken for a crossover with Avengers: Endgame what with the fiery portal and three silhouettes walking through it. Though Raiden says it’s Shang Tsung, I have a feeling that someone else entirely is walking through that portal.
With Spawn completing the first Kombat Pack, I have a feeling this continuation of the campaign is here to add even more characters to Mortal Kombat 11. We don’t know who we should expect for now, but I imagine more classic faces like Ermac, Rain, Bo Rai Cho, or newer character Fujin. Besides that, I think we’re also going to get more characters from various other franchises owned by WB.
If I had a wishlist, I think Watchmen’s Rorschach would be a good fit, or maybe even the violent Batman from The Dark Knight Returns. How about Max from Mad Max? You think the game would be crazy enough to add Voldemort from Harry Potter?
We don’t know when this expansion will drop, but hopefully we get the full details tomorrow. Fingers crossed it comes free for anyone who already owns the game.
