Narco Terror is a literally explosive and rollocking ride through an ‘80s action flick. While it does become increasingly and frustratingly difficult to play alone and suffers from bland storytelling, Narco Terror delivers in its co-op gameplay, and is both great looking and easy to quickly pick up and play with a friend.

But a game so brazenly ridiculous as this deserves some equally outrageous statements to be made about it in return. So here we go: Narco Terror is a surprisingly enjoyable old-school arcade romp; it offers some of the greatest fun I've had on XBLA this year; and is one of the silliest games you'll ever play. But once the high wears off, you'll be left craving for a dose of something a little more substantial.

With a friend, there’s certainly some mindless fun to be had with Narco Terror, especially during the opening hour or so – but even then the title misfires on a technical level, and shoots blanks when it comes to providing a truly addictive hook. As a single player game, though, this is the epitome of a bad trip, with an explosive difficulty curve that eventually detonates any sense of prior enjoyment into tiny little pieces.
