Players can now explore and learn more about the medieval world set in Shiro Games' RPG title, Wartales. Publishers from Shiro Unlimited have launched the newest region for Wartales, The Capital City of Gosenberg.
Also called The Great Gosenberg in the province of Grinmeer, it is the fifth region of the open-world game. Arnaud Richard, Marketing Director for Shiro Games, said it was, by far, their largest update for the title's Early Access Mode.
Wartales' largest Early Access update is here, featuring boundless opportunities for our mercenaries to chase,
he said. The Capital City of Gosenberg also happens to be the second major update. It will serve as an extension of the main story,
Richard said. The city of Gosenberg offers new strategies, tactics, and mechanics ready to be weaponized in the pursuit of power and wealth,
he added.
The Great Gosenberg
Developers said The Great Gosenberg would have the characteristics of what a medieval metropolis would look and feel like. The main storyline in Gosenberg centers on the murder of a former member of an important council. In turn, players can expect detective-like functions to uncover the truth.
Beyond the murder mystery, the new points of interest found in the capital city include an embassy, a brothel, and several manor houses.
Battles in Gosenberg can range from street-level fights to gladiator-esque tournaments. Gamers can also make allies with streetwise folks, adventurers, and even outlaws. And like most ancient capitals, Gosenberg will also have its share of the glitterati, with their songs and sonnets.
Shiro Games released the Early Access mode for Wartales on Steam in December 2021. It will run for approximately 12 months. During Early Access, the developers planned to add more content, such as new battle modes.
The first major content update for Wartales was Harag's Marshlands, released last March.
