The nominees for the Game Awards 2022 have been revealed. On November 15, the Game Awards announced the complete list of nominees for the upcoming year-end event. The organizers will be giving out a total of 31 awards.

Sony's God of War: Ragnarok leads the race with ten nominations, including the Game of the Year and Best Game Direction. It also got nominated for Best Narrative, Best Art Direction, Best Score and Music, Best Performance, Best Action/Adventure, and Innovation in Accessibility.

Six titles will vie for the coveted Game of the Year award. Aside from Ragnarok, the nominees include A Plague Tale: Requiem, Elden Ring, Horizon Forbidden West, Stray, and Xenoblade Chronicles 3.

Elden Ring, Horizon Forbidden West, and Stray were the next most nominated games after Ragnarok. Elden Ring and Horizon Forbidden West each got seven nominations, while Stray got six.

The Game Awards 2022 has shortlisted 108 games, esports teams, content creators, events, and even game adaptations.

They said they would introduce a new category, Best Adaptation. (Best Adaptation Category) celebrates game-inspired projects across entertainment, they said.

Nominees for "Best Adaptation" included at least three Netflix series. These are Arcane (League of Legends), Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, and The Cuphead Show! In the same category, the theatrical game adaptations of Hedgehog 2 and Uncharted were also nominated.

An international jury of over 100 media publications and influencer outlets screened the nominees for The Game Awards 2022.

The ceremony will take place on December 8 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The event will also be broadcasted live across 40 digital video streaming platforms. In the meantime, fans and gaming enthusiasts can start casting their votes. They can send them in through the official website and Discord server of the Game Awards. Polls will close on December 7.

The Game Awards 2021 named the action-adventure game It Takes Two, from Hazelight Studios and Electronic Arts, the Game of the Year.
