Ragnarock, where players beat Viking drums in a race, has begun welcoming more players into the game.
Indie game developer WanadevStudio said that they were able to get Ragnarock to work on PlayStation devices. The French developer said the virtual reality (VR) game went live for the PSVR 2 on February 21.
The entire team is very proud to bring our work on Ragnarock to the PlayStation community,
said Côme de Percin, Creative Director of WanadevStudio.
The experience of playing Ragnarock on PS VR2 is going to be a great experience. We can't wait to challenge all the new Vikings in multiplayer races,
he added.
Ragnarock on PSVR 2 will feature the game's complete list of 36 tracks and the six worlds of Norse mythology. These are Asgard, Nidavellir, Muspelheim, Alfheim, Midgard and Helheim.
In Ragnarock, players compete in a boat race as Viking captains. With two hammers, they must crush runes and speed through rivers, lakes, and seas 'in sync with epic music' playing.
The PlayStation VR 2 edition has multiple modes, including PvP, single-player, and multiplayer. In multiplayer, up to six gamers can team up to race.
Wanadev first released the game in 2021 for PC via Steam. The developers later expanded it to include Oculus Quest. The game received positive reviews from gamers and critics alike. It received a playscore of 9.2 on whatoplay. Whatoplay also rated it 9.9 based on the reviews of over 3,300 gamers from Steam and Oculus.com. Game critics praised Ragnarock for its visuals and "simple but fun" rhythm mechanics. The game won the Best Multiplayer VR Game in Steam's ETR Community. It also got shortlisted in the 2021 Steam Awards for the VR Game of the Year.
Since its launching, Wanadev has produced close to 30 DLCs for Ragnarock. / ###
