Creators of the upcoming adventure game Koa and the Five Pirates of Mara have postponed its launch until next year. Chibig Studio, Talpa Games, and Undercoders, announced on November 30 that they will release Koa and the Five Pirates of Mara in 2023 on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Series X.
Koa and the Five Pirates of Mara will be the first of (the) planned releases for 2023,
portions of their press release stated.
Earlier reports said that the Summer in Mara spin-off was supposed to come out this year. Developers and publishers have yet to provide details on their decision to push back its release.
In the meantime, console players can get physical copies of Koa and the Five Pirates of Mara. Chibig Studio has worked with distributor Tesura Games to bring physical formats of the game.
There will be two editions, Chibig said. These are the standard version and the Collector's Edition, which features exclusive elements. Developers added that the launch of its physical edition would follow the digital release of the 3D action-adventure game.
In Koa and the Five Pirates of Mara, gamers will continue to play as Koa and Napopo. But this time, they will be exploring a new region in Mara. Their task is to reclaim a stolen treasure from a group of mischievous pirates.
The creators also released a limited demo during the Steam Next Fest last June.
Koa and the Five Pirates of Mara had a warm reception at the Steam Next Fest last June,
they said. [And this is] something that has served to gather feedback from players and reinforce the strengths of the game, as well as to show the community what this new adventure has in store for them at the beginning of the year,
they added.
