DON'T NOD, the game developer behind the Life is Strange series, is working on a new project. And like their hit 2015 narrative game, it features a protagonist with superhuman abilities.
During The Nintendo Direct event on February 8, DON'T NOD unveiled updates on their latest title, Harmony: The Fall of Reverie. The choice-based RPG will launch on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam this June.
Developers from DON'T NOD promised players to deliver a 'unique narrative experience' with Harmony: The Fall of Reverie. The French game studio also confirmed collaborating with award-winning composer Lena Raine. They tapped Raine to produce its original soundtrack to give the game a colorful, vibrant, and futuristic atmosphere.
It is a unique game in its narration with an incredible art direction,
said Oskar Guilbert, CEO of DON'T NOD. We hope players will find this experience stunning and refreshing and that the unique narrative will connect deeply with them,
he added.
Following their Nintendo Direct announcement, DON'T NOD also published a teaser trailer for their upcoming game.The video, which ran for over a minute, shows more than just its art style. It also tells the story of the protagonist, Polly.
The 2D game takes players into the futuristic Mediterranean city of Alma. There, Polly begins her quest to find her missing mother. Along the way, she discovers her gift of clairvoyance that connects her to a distant world called Reverie. In Reverie, Polly becomes the powerful goddess Harmony.
Like in the Life of Strange games, what players do as Polly or Harmony will affect both worlds. [These will also] open up different narrative paths,
developers added.
