Goodbye World, an indie game where players take on the role of two struggling game developers, is expanding its player base in June.

Publishers PM Studios and Isolation Studio announced that Goodbye World would go live on Xbox and Playstation consoles.

A press release said they will roll out the game on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/|S this June 30.

The two indie game studios' announcement also came as they marked Goodbye World's first anniversary. Goodbye World first came out for PC and Nintendo Switch in April 2022. Since then, the interactive fiction game has earned a cult following.

Goodbye World is a single-player that features a pixel-style illustration. In it, players navigate the lives of two game creators, programmer Kanii and graphics artist Kumade. They journey through Kanii and Kumade's story, told in 13 chapters.

The game follows Kanii and Kumade as they navigate the harsh realities of independent game development.

[Kanii and Kumade] met in college and are trying to create a product that sells. However, they struggle to sell their games, causing them to spend most of their time working part-time jobs to make ends meet, developers added.

Aside from the main story arc, players can enjoy a puzzle platformer mini-game called BLOCKS. The game has 12 stages, each with its own unique challenges.

Meanwhile, PM Studios and Isolation Studio said the physical edition of Goodbye World for PlayStation and Switch consoles is still available.

Players are encouraged to head over to the VGP site to learn more about this special edition and place their orders, they added.
