<p>God of War (2018) is receiving a new patch to optimize the game for the <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/" title="PS5 Games">PlayStation 5</a>. While fans wait for the release of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/god-of-war-ragnarok" title="God of War Ragnarok on PS5">God of War: Ragnarok</a>, Santa Monica Studios is going to release a fix that would allow players to fully enjoy the game to the full range of the PS5’s ability.</p>

<p>As announced by <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/sce-santa-monica-studio" title="SCE Santa Monica Studio">Santa Monica Studios</a>, Feb. 2 will see the release of a free patch that <i>“replaces the current video graphics mode option with a new default setting that will offer the best of both performance and resolution to our PlayStation 5 players!”</i></p>

<p>Features of the ‘Enhanced Performance Experience’ are listed:</p>

<ul>
<li>Syncs to 60 FPS</li>
<li>4K Checkerboard Resolution</li>
<li>2160p</li>
</ul>

<p>Of course, players can still opt to select the ‘Original Performance Experience’ which will offer 4K Checkerboard Resolution, but synced to 30 FPS.</p>

<p>While we have yet to get a release date for God of War: Ragnarok, this patch should get everyone hyped up for the return of Kratos and Atreus; at the same time, it could also be a great jumping point for fans who are new to the franchise.</p>
