Blizzard defined a genre when they released Diablo II back in 2000, and though Diablo III has been thriving since 2012, it looks like Blizzard wants to bring the hit game back to a whole new generation of gamers to celebrate its 20th Anniversary.
Here’s the announce trailer for Diablo II: Resurrected:
While Diablo II had originally been available for the PC only, this remaster is going to be coming to consoles as well, and players will also be allowed cross-platform progression.
Some of the developers behind this remake were the ones behind the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, as well as the remaster of the original Tony Hawk Pro-Skater games. For a deep dive into Resurrected, you can check out the panel from BlizzConline 2021:
With Diablo II being one of the most celebrated titles in its genre, it’s going to be great that some younger players will be able to experience the game remastered for the current generation. Of course, the developers also have the original players in mind, so they should expect Resurrected to completely pander to their nostalgia.
No specific release date has been announced for Diablo II: Resurrected, but the game is expected to launch sometime in 2021 for the PC, Nintendo Switch, PS5\PS4, and Xbox Series X|S. Find more games in our respective lists for Upcoming Switch Games and Upcoming PS4 Games.
