Delve into the 6 New Cultures:
1. Era 1 - Pama-Nyungan (Aesthete):
Pama-Nyungan speakers settled in Australia during the mid-Holocene era. They brought their language, social systems, and new cultural practices.
2. Era 2 - Polynesians (Expansionist):
The Polynesian culture began in Tonga, Samoa, and Uvea islands in the last centuries during the first millennium BCE. They contributed innovative navigation techniques that led them to conquer the Pacific.
3. Era 3 - Rapa Nui (Builder):
The Rapa Nui people thrived on Easter Island around the 1100s. They overcame challenges to create their society. They built monumental statues and ceremonial structures.
4. Era 4 - Māori (Militarist):
Settling on the North Island (Te Ika-a-Māui), the Māori built a complex society. Their society is based on clans and extended families. They maintain unity through conflicts and wars.
5. Era 5 - Hawaiians (Agrarian):
The late 1700s marked a period of transformative shifts in Hawaiian society. As political unification and contact with foreign cultures change their systems, they still value their connection to the land and sea.
6. Era 6 - New Zealanders (Scientist):
During the 1940s and 1950s, New Zealand started moving towards independence from British rule. After the Seddon and Savage governments, leaders expanded the social model and invested in energy independence technologies.
