iPhone and iPad Owners Can Now Play Bugsnax

Here's some fantastic news for gamers searching for a new title to play on their iPhones and iPads.

Bugsnax, the hit indie game that features half-bug, half-snack creatures, is coming to the App Store. Developers from Young Horses announced that they will launch Bugsnax for iPhone and iPad on July 12.

The mobile version of the PC game will carry a price tag of US $19.99, as well as an overhauled user interface to accommodate touch-screen devices.

Bugsnax on the App Store includes downloadable content (DLC) called The Isle of BIGsnax. With this DLC, players on iPhone and iPad can unlock additional areas to explore and meet a wider variety of Bugsnax.

Developers confirmed that the game's App Store edition can support third-party controllers. Bugsnax first came out for PlayStation 5 consoles in 2020. PlayStation 4, PC, and macOS versions were also released simultaneously.

In the adventure game, the primary gameplay revolves around discovering and capturing creatures known as Bugsnax. As a player, you assume the role of a journalist invited to Snaktooth Island by the renowned explorer Elizabert Megafig.

However, upon reaching the area, the host has disappeared. Her camp is ransacked, and her followers are disoriented and starving. These events would ultimately set in motion Bugsnax's main campaign. Players need to solve Elizabert's disappearance while finding out the origins of the Bugsnax themselves.

Young Horses, an independent studio based in Chicago, spent six years completing the game. Since its release, Bugsnax received favorable reviews from gamers and critics.

A few days after its debut in 2020, the game was also ported to consoles such as PlayStation 5. In April 2022, Young Horses expanded to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
