<p>Miriam, the protagonist of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/bloodstained-ritual-of-the-night" title="Bloodstained Ritual of the Night on PC">Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night</a> is making a crossover with another platforming title, Blasphemous. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/developers/team17" title="Team17">Team 17</a> has dropped a new trailer for the free update, Strife & Ruin, and it brings Miriam into the world of the Penitent One. Players have to find a way to bring her back to her own world.</p>

<div class="direct-quote">Tasked with helping Miriam return to her world, players must complete a series of platforming challenges and collect shards to repair her portal home. Filled with traps that force the player to hone their precision platforming abilities, those who pass the test and help Miriam return to her world will have a special reward bestowed upon them.</div>

<p>Miriam isn’t the only addition to Strife and Ruin either. The update is bringing in ‘Boss Rush Mode’ which will be available after completing the main story. The course will contain a selection of bosses that players can take on using any of their save files.</p>

<p>A ‘Demake Area’ is also added that will pay homage to classic 8-bit <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/platformer" title="Platformer PS4 Games">platformers</a> (like <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/castlevania-anniversary-collection" title="Castlevania Anniversary Collection on PS4">Castlevania</a>); this area is available via a hidden arcade cabinet in Cvstodia, with core mechanics changed to match the classic style. New render modes will also be made available that emulate old TV effects—all of which you can apply to the standard game.</p>

<p>Blasphemous: Strife and Ruin is set to launch on <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/blasphemous" title="Blasphemous on PC">PC</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/blasphemous" title="Blasphemous on Switch">Nintendo Switch</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps4/blasphemous" title="Blasphemous on PS4">PS4</a>, and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/xbox-one/blasphemous" title="Blasphemous on Xbox One">Xbox One</a> on Feb. 18.
