Dark Alliance was set to come to the Nintendo eShop on May 7, but the game had a last-minute delay. Now it looks like Black Isle has set a solid release for today, May 20.
The original Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance was developed by Snowblind Studios as a spinoff of BioWare's Baldur’s Gate games.
BG: DA is set in the Forgotten Realms campaign of the Dungeons & Dragons roleplaying games. It was notable for having the updated gameplay that followed the rules of the third edition which came out in 2000.
Though the Baldur’s Gate franchise is best known for being a PC title, Dark Alliance was the first game to be exclusive to consoles. It was released on the PS2 and Xbox in 2001. The game received high praise upon initial release. The PS2 version won the DICE Award for ‘RPG of the Year’.
Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance is coming to the Nintendo eShop on May 20. The game is also available on the PS4, PS5 and the Xbox Series X|S. Check out our list of upcoming Switch games for more titles.
