25. Arizona Sunshine
One of the first wave of quality VR games. This game has shown us the fun of basking in post-apocalyptic heat and gunning down zombies in sunny Arizona. A twist on the usually dark genre, the VR title shows off a rich shooting experience. Hunt down the source of a radio distress call, loot some items and share the world with a friend in co-op mode.
It has a playscore of 8.07
24. Angry Birds VR: Isle of Pigs
Rovio's angry birds have been everywhere, but this was still pretty unexpected. Following their box office success, they bring their physics-based puzzles to the VR stage and it isn't bad at all. Its 3D environment matches their new film franchise, letting you jump from one to the next to find the best angle of attack for your angry birds' slingshot.
It has a score of 8.09
23. From Other Suns
A truly out of this world experience from beyond the cosmos. Gunfire Games' action-adventure feels like being inside a sci-fi parody. Take command of your very own spaceship, and try to get rid of the hostile aliens you attracted in the unexplored reaches space.
One of the funniest VR co-ops, it's a fully-featured title with lots of content and replay value, earning a score of 8.1
22. Wilson's Heart
A VR game made, especially for the Oculus Rift. Set in a black and white world, put yourselves in the shoes of Robert Wilson as he discovers his heart replaced by a mysterious device. Released relatively early into the dawn of VR, this game is more than a demo reel of VR capabilities, it's a full game with six to eight hours of engaging puzzles and a playscore of 8.15
21. BONEWORKS
Looks like Stress Level Zero's experimentation has paid off. With the goal of creating an action-adventure out of experimental physics, we get a taste of some of the most exciting action on the VR. Throughout its campaign, you'll get to use everything from guns to crowbars, and even your own head. All of it creating a delightful romp of satisfying combat and a playscore of 8.18
20. Raw Data
From the same studio that brought us Arizona Sunshine comes this gorgeous sci-fi shooter. Take to a robotic future and play as hackers plotting to bring down Eden Corp's sinister robot line. A lot of other VR games may look better now, but Raw Data still serves quite a dose of polished gameplay, presentation, content, and co-op capabilities.
It has a playscore of 8.19
19. Chronos
Gunfire Games has also made its successful jump to VR with this action RPG. Far from their Darksiders series, Chronos revolves around the concept of time, drawing you in with satisfying combat, intriguing puzzles, and breathtaking environments. It's Legends of Zelda with a twist. Add years to your life with every death, gaining new perks at the cost of being grayer, slower, and closer to death.
A playscore of 8.25
18. Pistol Whip
There's not much time to immerse yourself when you have bullets flying at you in every beat. This is the kind of fast-paced action you can expect from Cloudhead Games' VR game which combines FPS and rhythm mechanics for a breathtaking techno-fantasy shooter experience.
It's not quite as deep a VR title, but it's still one of the best arcade games on the platform with a score of 8.34
17. FORM
A VR that will take you places, not just anywhere in the universe, but to whole new dimensions too. It's one thing to emulate reality. Creating a surreal and wondrous place to immerse in is a whole another thing entirely and FORM does it with style. It's an hour-long title from Charm Games where you get to puzzle over their varying conundrums at your own pace while taking in their hypnotic and almost psychedelic visuals.

16. Lies Beneath
If you love comic books AND horror, then you'll probably adore this horror game from Drifter Entertainment. Drifting away from their usual fast-paced titles, Lies Beneath plays it slow, letting the creepiness grow on you as you explore their sleepy town of Slumber Alaska.
A one-two punch of cel-shaded graphics and gruesome images, you'll be confused about whether to appreciate the surroundings or watch out for the next monster. It has a score of 8.37
15. Overload
From the makers of Descent, Revival brought six degrees of freedom to the VR. It's got everything you need from a classic flying shooter. Take your friends along with you in the multiplayer mode with both public and private matches, and play around with their customization options, as well as their intense survival mode. With 15 levels in their campaign, it's great for both a multiplayer and singleplayer experience.

Aside from it being completely free, there are so many other reasons why Valve's The Lab is one of the most downloaded VR games out there. More like an X-men and Sherlock hybrid than your usual James Bond fare, I Expect You to Die anchors on the powers of the mind. With telekinetic abilities on top of your inherent ingenuity, your goal is to stop Zoraxis from sabotaging the pharmaceutical industry.

After being one of the most awesome puzzle games on the mobile, Fireproof Games took they are tried and tested formula to the VR and it's just as captivating as ever. But, this time, it's all on your hands. Walk around in their renowned environments, gather clues, and leave no virtual stone unturned.
It might be a short, one-off experience, but it's worth your while with a score of 8.5
9. Brass Tactics
Not quite the kind of VR most of us would expect, but it definitely shows that the platform is for everyone. With a lot of avid PC strategists, these folks can get comfy in Hidden Path Entertainment's title. With the designer of Age of Empires, rack up the strength of your armies and win the wars in their fun, fantasy battlefields.

8. A Fisherman's Tale
Playing with both new environments and a whole different scale, Innerspace's VR adventure challenges you to think in terms of big AND small to solve the riddles that haunt their friendly, french fisherman. Its interactivity is what sells it, letting you play around with all the objects in the lighthouse.
Short as it is, it's a game you should try on for size and it has a score of 8.54
7. Thumper
This rhythm game from Drool existed on platforms before its VR version. However, once it did get out, it was clear that it was made for it. A new take on the rhythm game, Thumper's booming bass, and captivating stages is particularly breathtaking when you're in it for yourself.
We didn't think it could get any more absorbing, but Thumper exceeds expectations. It has a playscore of 8.57
6. Robo Recall
EPIC Games’ FREE action-packed VR shooter provides the endless fun of graphically appealing robots in a seamless FPS experience. Once you get in, you'll find a world taken over by rogue robots and your job is to survive. Whether it's by using bare fists or high-powered machines, it'll take reflexes, skills, and awareness to get through each punishing stage.

5. Asgard’s Wrath
A taste of the old Norse myths. This title from Sanzaru Games offers the kind action and adventure we expect from the consoles and PC, but it does so with style as a VR experience. It's another step forward for the platform, pushing us into the future with a meticulously detailed Old World.
Delivering a straightforward story using great RPG mechanics, excellent combat, and a friendly interface, it gets a score of 8.75
4. SUPERHOT VR
Already a market success when it released on the PC and Xbox One, this VR port of the critically awarded indie FPS is a welcome addition to the collection. In SUPERHOT, time moves when you do, making it an incredible experience to feel like you're fully in the world and in control of the action. With no bad realism insight, their sleek minimalism just adds to the illusion.

3. GORN
Another shining example of "you don't need realism to have fun." In fact, Free Lives' GORN has gone so far away from reality, that it's just a whole load of silly fun. Simulating a gladiator arena, play around with their large arsenal of wacky and occasionally rubbery tools, and hack, smash, and decapitate your way through their bumbling opponents.
Ultraviolent in the most hilariously satisfying way, it has a score of 8.78
2. Lone Echo
An early hallmark of VR excellence from Ready at Dawn. As echo units tasked to deal with repairs and overhauls on a deep space ship, you'll go through a series of anomalies, solving each problem to save the ship and the crew. It's a deeply absorbing tale, with seamless navigation around a gorgeous and eerily quiet outer space.
It lives up to VR standards two years on and it earns a playscore of 8.87
1. Half-Life: Alyx
Valve has stirred the foundations of the platform with one of the most groundbreaking titles we've seen yet. Building upon the legendary history of their Half-Life series, Alyx is a prequel set between Half-Life 1 and 2, putting us in the shoes of Alyx Vance and into City 17. It's a world that's familiar, but just as terrifying, and this time, a lot more real. Everything we love about Half-Life presented with incredible graphics, believable physics, and intuitive controls.
It earns the number one spot with a playscore of 9.46
