Marvel Contest of Champions Kicks Off Halloween with New Champions and More

Indie game developer Joe Richardson is set to release the third and final installment in his absurdist Immortal John Triptych series, Death of the Reprobate. Releasing on November 7, it will continue the developer's trademark mix of classic <a href=https://whatoplay.com/pc/best/point-and-click/>point-and-click</a> adventuring, Renaissance art, and Monty Python-inspired humor.

Death of the Reprobate follows the success of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/four-last-things/">Four Last Things</a> and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/the-procession-to-calvary/">The Procession to Calvary</a>. This new chapter promises a new wave of dark humor, quirky characters, and surrealistic puzzles. 

The game follows Immortal John, who is back for some reason. Despite the Immortal in his name, he’s currently facing his final days in the mortal realm.

Throughout the game, player’s are tasked to aid John’s heir, Malcolm the Shit. They must complete seven good deeds before sundown, in hopes of securing a generous inheritance. Players must guide Malcolm through the bizarre world of Renaissance paintings and quirky dialogue. Just remember, the Lord God is always watching.

Crow Country received an ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ rating on Steam from over three thousand users. On whatoplay, it also received playscores of 9.0 on PC and 8.9 on PlayStation 5. 

Gamers called its gameplay and story ‘Peak,’ which is Gen-Z for something really good. Critics on the other hand praised the game for its excellent presentation and subversive elements. According to them, this is a game best played blind.

SEGA has announced a new content update for its latest 3D action-platformer. This major <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/sonic-dream-team/">Sonic Dream Team</a> update is exclusive to Apple Arcade, introducing fresh gameplay features, power-ups, and tweaks that enhance the experience for Sonic fans.

Among the new changes include new power-ups and customization features. Players can now unlock and equip 16 powerful new abilities, including Stomp, Super Fly, and Turbo Dash. These power-ups, earned through Tails' challenges, allow users to tailor their characters' abilities to fit their unique playstyle.

‘Sonic Dream Team’ Receives Major Update on Apple Arcade

Astragon Entertainment alongside Team17 Digital announced the release of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/conscript/">CONSCRIPT</a>’s physical copies for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5. 

The physical copy acts as a deluxe version of the game, priced at $34.99/£29.95 for the Switch and $29.99/£26.99 for PS5.

The Deluxe Edition includes two digital DLC packs.: The ‘Golden Gun Pack’ and ‘Trench Raider Pack.’ 

The Golden Gun Pack features a gold-plated replica of the Mauser C96 pistol as a weapon skin.The Elite Trench Raider pack on the other hand consists of three additional uniforms, namely the Elite Trench Raider, Pilot and English Tommy outfit. 

Developed solo by Jordan Mochi, CONSCRIPT takes players into the terrifying trenches of World War 1. It is set during the Battle of Verdun in 1916. Blended with a stylistic pixel art style, players assume the role of a lone French soldier on a desperate mission to find his missing brother. 

The gameplay involves intense resource management and solving a variety of puzzles as players fight to survive in a bleak, war-torn landscape. Astragon Entertainment alongside Team17 Digital announced the release of CONSCRIPT’s physical copies for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5. 

CONSCRIPT: Switch and PS5 Physical Versions  Now Available

Following its successful launch on Steam in August, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/five-nights-at-freddys-into-the-pit/">Five Nights at Freddy's: Into the Pit</a> is now available on PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch for $19.99. 

Into the Pit is unlike previous Five Nights at Freddy’s titles. Instead of sharing the classic’s signature first-person exploration, Into the Pit showcases the series’ first-ever 2D pixel <a href="https://whatoplay.com/xbox-series-x/best/adventure/">adventure</a>. One thing remains: deadly animatronics still roam the pizzeria. 

The game is a new chapter in the popular Five Nights at Freddy's horror franchise. This takes players to take control of Oswald, a teenager who stumbles upon a time-bending secret hidden in a pizzeria's ball pit. 

Oswald must travel between time periods to save his father and other children from the haunted animatronics.

It also gained a 9.2 playscore rating on the Whatoplay database. 9 critics including Game Rant and Comic Book gave Into the Pit perfect scores. It was clearly a step in the right direction for the series’ future after its series of middling sequels. 

The game was developed by Mega Cat Studios, a Pittsburgh-based studio responsible for games like WrestleQuest, Bite the Bullet, Backyard Baseball ‘97 and more.

Into the Pit will serve as the series’ first installment, paving a new story to the expanding universe of Scott Cawthon’s Five Nights at Freddy’s.

'Five Nights at Freddy’s: Into the Pit' Now Available on Consoles

After years of demand, SQUARE ENIX has officially brought some of its most beloved titles to Xbox platforms. 

The FINAL FANTASY Pixel Remaster series, Legend of Mana, and Trials of Mana are now available for the first time on Xbox Series X/S and PC via Windows. 

The news was unveiled during SQUARE ENIX’s <a href="https://whatoplay.com/post/xbox-tgs2024/">Xbox Game Showcase at this year’s Tokyo Game Show.</a>

Fans have been expecting to see the old <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/final-fantasy/">FINAL FANTASY</a> titles on Xbox and now this is the perfect time to celebrate. 

Players can purchase each game individually or as a bundle in the <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/final-fantasy-i-vi-pixel-remaster/">FINAL FANTASY I-VI Pixel Remaster</a> package. Xbox players now have access to the same quality of life improvements previously introduced on PlayStation, Switch, and <a href="https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/21478/FINAL_FANTASY_IVI_Bundle/">Steam</a> versions.

As for the Mana series, both <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/legend-of-mana/">Legend of Mana</a> and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/trials-of-mana/">Trials of Mana</a> will debut on Xbox consoles as well, including its addition to the Xbox Game Pass Catalog. 

(Note that FINAL FANTASY Pixel Remaster is not included in the Xbox Game Pass catalog.)

Legend of Mana serves as the fourth entry in the legendary Mana series. The remastered version will be finally available on Xbox, featuring enhanced visuals and sound as well as the freedom to switch between the remastered and original soundtrack. 

Trials of Mana also makes a return to modern audiences with its full HD remake of Seiken Densetsu 3. It takes players once again into the <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/best/jrpg/">hit Switch JRPGs</a> fantastical Mana universe. The remake includes improved combat systems, character class upgrades, and a variety of accessibility options.

Players need only purchase an Xbox Game Pass subscription to play these JRPG classics. 

All titles are available digitally, with the FINAL FANTASY Pixel Remaster series currently offered at a discounted price for a limited time, ending October 3, 2024, at 3am PDT.

This major announcement marks SQUARE ENIX’s new foray on Xbox Consoles. Rumor has it that <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/final-fantasy-xvi/">Final Fantasy XVI</a> is set to arrive on Microsoft’s family of systems as well. Overall, this is but the first step to experience SQUARE ENIX’s growing library of iconic JRPGs.
