One of the most anticipated indie, souls-like titles this year came out earlier than expected

Indie developer Jyamma Games on September 16 launched <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/enotria-the-last-song/">Enotria: The Last Song</a> for PC via <a href="https://store.steampowered.com/app/2102450/Enotria_The_Last_Song/">Steam</a>. On the same day, they also rolled out the game's Early Access for PlayStation 5 (PS5).

The Milan-based studio said they moved up the PC release date by two days to coincide with the PS5 launch. The decision served as a gesture of appreciation for the game's dedicated PC community. In addition, this will allow PC players the same amount of time as those who pre-ordered for Early Access on PS5.

To recall, devs initially planned to release Enotria: The Last Song last June 21. Enotria: The Last Song is a souls-like RPG set in an Italian-inspired world. There, a mysterious force known as the Canovaccio has trapped the world in a perpetual, unnatural state. Players become the Maskless One, the only person who holds the key to break the spell.

Then they set on a quest to defeat tyrannical Authors who created the Canovaccio. At the same time, they must also harness the energy of Ardore to free the world from its 'stagnant existence.'

The game features intense combat and a unique mask system that grants new abilities.

Creators of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/remnant-2/">Remnant II</a> are preparing to close the chapter on the popular <a href="https://whatoplay.com/ps5/best/third-person-shooter/">third-person shooter</a>.

Arc Games and Gunfire Games announced on September 10th the release date of the final downloadable content (DLC) for Remnant II. Titled 'The Dark Horizon', it will launch this September 24.

The upcoming expansion will also arrive alongside a free major content update. And it will introduce a brand-new 'Boss Rush' game mode. Both content updates will roll out simultaneously on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

'The Dark Horizon' marks the culmination of the Remnant II DLC saga. And it will feature a brand-new storyline.

It takes players back to the world of N'Erud. There, they will discover a mysterious place preserved in time, where alien farmlands had once been tended by a long-gone civilization.

But time corrupts all. Rogue AI and robotic creations emerged as threats while Travelers searched for the secrets of the colossal entity that dominates the skyline.

New features found in 'The Dark Horizon' DLC will include new locations such as dungeons, and new items. Like a new gear, a new Archetype, additional allies, and a new glider traversal system not found in other worlds. Along the way, as they set off to defeat the colossal entity that looms over N'Erud, they will also encounter new threats and enemies, developers said.

Alongside the paid DLC, a free content update will introduce a "Boss Rush" mode. In it, players will go face Remnant II's most formidable bosses. They can choose from solo or cooperative play with fellow "Travelers," and tackle three difficulty options. These are Triple Threat (three bosses), Trial by Fire (seven bosses), or The Gauntlet (all nineteen bosses).

The goal is simple yet incredibly demanding: survive relentless enemy waves and conquer boss fights to earn coveted rewards. This included elusive weapons.

The update also introduces a new system called Prisms. Prisms further refine the fragment system and allow players to level up for additional stat bonuses.

A new boss rush title is heading its way to PC and Nintendo Switch soon.

Indie developer GodziPixel will roll out its newest game, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/nimbusfall/">Nimbusfall</a>, this September 13. In a press release, the studio announced that they will release the revenge-fueled boss rush game on PC via Steam and Switch.

Indie game publisher DevilishGames had partnered with GodziPixel for the launch of Nimbusfall.

GodziPixel (Daniel Agulló) is an independent developer and pixel art artist based in Alcoy, Spain. Some of his published projects included the webcomic "Chop Chop" and video games like "What a Show!

Nimbusfall promised a thrilling boss rush experience fueled by vengeance.
"Dive into a new and thrilling boss rush-style video game where revenge is the only motivation," portions of the game's description read.

In the game, players assume the role of the sole survivor of a race annihilated by a celestial entity known only as "The Moon." Driven by a thirst for retribution, they must navigate a series of 25 challenging boss encounters. Each demands strategic combat and mastery of various skills.
Along the way, they must also unravel the truth behind their past and the fate of their species.

Parcel Corps is a satirical bicycle courier game developed by Billy Goat Entertainment and published by Secret Mode.

Players navigate the streets of New Island, choosing a side among three rival courier companies.

But the lighthearted story takes a turn for the unexpected. A sinister plot by oil tycoon Rich Villainé threatens the very existence of the city. Players must then master their bike-handling skills. They need to deliver packages on time, and ultimately save the day.

The gameplay involved players choosing a side and engaging in “two-wheeled rivalries”. Their goal is to capture market share and influence. All the while, dodging the nefarious schemes of oil tycoon Rich Villainé. As the game unfolds, players will find themselves unexpectedly thrust into a world-saving mission. At the same time, battling the clock to deliver vital packages within a 32-minute timeframe.

Billy Goat Entertainment is a video game developer based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. It was founded in 2010.

Parcel Corps Skids to a Later Release Date

One of the most <a href="https://whatoplay.com/upcoming/indie/">highly anticipated indie titles</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/mexico-1921-a-deep-slumber/">Mexico, 1921: A Deep Slumber</a>, has finally gotten a release date.

Creators from Macula Interactive announced on August 28 that the game will launch this September 13. The historical narrative <a href="https://whatoplay.com/pc/best/adventure/">adventure</a> game will be available for PC via Steam. It will also land on Xbox devices but at a later date.

"We're thrilled to finally share the release date for 'Mexico, 1921: A Deep Slumber,'" said Paola Vera, general director of Macula Interactive.

"This project has been a labor of love for our team, and we've poured our hearts and souls into creating an authentic and immersive experience that brings the history of Mexico to life," she added.

Set in 1921, the game follows Juan Aguirre. As a young photojournalist, he navigates the political and cultural landscape of Mexico City. Players will explore iconic landmarks. These included the National Palace and the old Merced Convent.

In addition, they will not only get to interact with historical figures. But also uncover the mystery behind the assassination of President Álvaro Obregón.

In "Mexico, 1921: A Deep Slumber," players can embark on a historical journey through 1920s Mexico City. They get to interact with influential figures and immerse themselves in the era's culture. The game also features in-game photography. This will allow players to capture their own unique memories and gather clues. Additionally, players can collect over 100 historical artifacts.

Mexico, 1921: A Deep Slumber has garnered international acclaim. The game received multiple nominations at prestigious gaming festivals. Like the London Games Festival, IndieCade, and the Latin American Games Showcase.

In the meantime, Macula Interactive confirmed that the demo version for the upcoming game is still live. Interested players can download it on Steam for PC.
