Paradox Interactive and Triumph Studios just announced the release date for the latest downloadable content (DLC) for the strategy fantasy game. Titled Age of Wonders 4: Primal Fury, the newest expansion pack will launch this February 27.
It will be available for PC and consoles for US$9.99. Owners of the Premium Edition and Expansion Pass for Age of Wonders 4 can get it for free.
Age of Wonders: Primal Fury is the third content update for Age of Wonders 4, which made its debut in May 2023. The previous DLC, Age of Wonders 4: Empires & Ashes, was released on November 7, 2023.
The studios also revealed a comprehensive list of what fans can expect in the new expansion pack.
These included a new Primal Culture which will allow players to select one of the seven primal animals to worship and influence their empire. They can also do quests with their chosen primal animal - be it the Tunneling Spider or the Glacial Mammoth.
In addition, the newest DLC will contain new human physical forms - the Lupin and Goatkin, ultimately enabling players to create a faction of arcane wolves or forest-dwelling satyrs.
Primal Fury also features new Tomes of Magic to cast spells. These are the Tome of Fey Mists and Tome of the Stormborn. Both will grant players the power to manipulate mists, water, and lightning, and even turn their armies into nagas.
Other new items in the expansion included four New Mounts, six New Wildlife Units, and a free Wolf Update. On the other hand, Primal Fury will also introduce quality-of-life improvements such as new Primal Fury interface skin. Players can also expect a rework of necromancy, new randomly generated items, and War Bounties to help allies in wars. / ###
