The newest downloadable content (DLC) for the hit train simulation game Train Sim World 3 will be dropping this month. And it's all about the United States of America.
After months of speculation, Dovetail Games confirmed that their upcoming DLC would feature locomotives and rails from the Land of the Free.
We have more than just one new train to announce this month. We have a new route, new liveries and upgrades to some existing Train Sim World routes too!
they said. In a press release, the UK-based game developer announced that the newest additions to Train Sim World 3 would go live this February 21. Among the highlights will be the iconic Amtrak Acela and the Fallen Flag freight.
Acela, Amtrak's flagship passenger train service, will be making its first appearance in the game, Dovetail said. Players can get ahold of the Amtrak Acela once developers roll out the DLC, which will come in two bundles. These are the Train Sim World 3: U.S. Passenger Bundle and the Train Sim World 3: U.S. Freight Bundle.
Dovetail will also introduce the historic American locomotives in the game with the Fallen Flag freight. Gamers can expect at least six scenarios featuring the Fallen Flag. Developers said they would take place on the upgraded version of the Sherman Hill route. Fallen Flag is the name given to defunct railroads in North America.
Aside from the trains themselves, Train Sim World 3's newest DLC will feature new routes from the US. These included the Northeast Corridor: New York-Trenton track. It will have 16 stations, including the line between New Brunswick and Trenton Transit Center. It will also serve as the primary route for the Amtrak Acela, said Dovetail.
Train Sim World 3 is the sixth installment in Dovetail's popular train simulation franchise. It was released in September 2022 on PC, PS5, Series X|S, PS4, and Xbox One. A few months after its debut, producers released several DLCs for the game.
It was only in the last quarter of 2022 when Dovetail began publishing teasers about the arrival of an Amtrak train in the game. /##
