Detroit: Become Human

It's a movie...a badly written one no matter what path you take but hey it's a movie.

It's already 2022 and yet it's my first time experiencing this masterpiece. Thanks to the new PS Plus Extra on PS5. Oh, man! I love this game through the moon and back. I loved it so much and was able to finish the first playthrough within 3 sittings. Detroit Become Human is actually one of those few games I experienced in which you will really invest yourself on a deeper level. This time, you don't need to invest through collecting items and making your characters powerful and etc. This is a narrative-driven, interactive movie-type game. I am still in amusement up to this moment for the fact that this game actually made me care so much about the characters. The story of Connor, Kara, and Markus as Androids trying to get out of their comfort zones actually made me think if this kind of scenario will ever happen in the future. This is too thought-provoking in many different ways.

  

The graphics of this game was fantastic. Considering this was released last 2018. The PS5 hardware only accelerated some minor details in the graphics but improved the loading speeds. The soundtrack, the dialogue, and the overall story. Everything with this game is fantastic. This game will let you decide what kind of game will it be. It's up to you whether you want to play it as a nice guy, a rebellious dude, or a caring mother. My favorite character between Markus, Connor, and Kara as the main protagonist is Kara. Kara's story in my opinion actually really captured the real feelings of a mother. Kara's care and love for Alice have been exceptionally unconditional. I always get excited whenever their scenes are rolling. But got really sad and cried like a baby with my first playthrough with Alice dying at the hands of Kara after the boat scene. This really breaks my heart especially the part when Alice said "I love you mom" to her. This was so meaningful to me, to be honest as I reap all of the consequences of my actions throughout the game. Detroit Become Human actually does not focus on your choices with one character but rather those choices may also affect the whole world the other characters are in. For example, Markus' decision to attack the police actually caused fear in the public which may lead to Kara and Alice's escape being so much more difficult. Connor's relationship with Hank can also affect the outcome of the entire story as well. Hank can be your friend, or he can also be your worst nightmare. Markus' relationship with North and the others actually created a certain bond that makes the other androids follow them. I won't be mentioning everything but you get the point. One playthrough is not enough to fully experience this masterpiece. 2018 is really a wonderful year for gaming.

  

Lastly, I won't end this review without mentioning the most adorable and beautiful character I've met in Video Game. That is Chloe. I've never been interested in taking the time to navigate the main menu. Chloe's interaction with me is creepy at first but eventually got my attention as I keep on coming back to the main menu. It felt like she was there. Her emotions for every decision you make will really make you guilty if you really have chosen the right decision. This is the future of gaming everyone. I hope to see some more concepts like this in the future.
