Let me say a few things. Dark Souls 2 is a masterpiece and I don´t understand the hate this game gets. To be fair, it´s the weakest part of Dark Souls trilogy, but it´s still a masterpiece. Lot of people don´t like the bosses in this game and I have to agree that some bosses are boring and not very creative, but the rest of the game is brilliant and I had so much fun playing it. What surprised me most was the quality of DLCs. They were great, locations where they took place were beautiful and the lore was really interesting. An underrated masterpiece.

Underrated masterpiece

Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin

Gothic, ghastly, and grisly, Dark Souls 2 is as evocative and weird and brutal as any other entries in the series, but is noticeably less deep. It takes two steps forward, and one step back, innovating here and there but ultimately feeling less rewarding than its siblings. A solid play for Souls fans, but not the best place for newcomers to start.
