Critias Empire is a Nation Builder with Disasters . Think one scale up from a city builder, it plays like a turn-based strategy game, but without war &amp; combat. Instead natural disasters rained down by the ancient Gods challenge your rise! For those who like the empire building of 4X Games.. <ul class="bb_ul"><li>Build a mighty empire through careful resource and land management. </li><li>Prepare for disasters foretold and lead your people through tumultuous times. </li><li>Adapt your strategies to the capricious whims of the Gods.</li></ul> Critias Empire will give you a range of ways to build your empire and manage precious resources. To give you a flavour of what you can expect, here are some features that have already been made or are in production: Transport - Bind your empire together and allow it to flourish by connecting far flung lands and distant cities. Unlocks the ability to build a network of roads and sea routes, which in turn boosts production of nearby tiles. Oracle - Call upon the mystics and soothsayers of your empire to divine the true intentions of the Gods. Unlocks the ability to preview the effects of an upcoming disaster within a limited area, and with a variable amount of uncertainty. Festivals - Appease the Gods and delight your citizens with extravagent celebrations. Unlocks the ability to throw festivals, which give time-limited boosts to your empire, at varying costs. After full launch, we hope to continue adding features to the game, including genre fan favourites like tech trees and trade. That said, we won't release a feature if it isn't fun or somehow breaks the game. The order in which we develop and release the features may also change Some more features we have concepted include: Leaders, Education, Health, Husbandry, Trade, Happiness, Politics, Tech Tree, City Buildings. In Critias Empire, the ancient Gods are vengeful and scheming. They will rain disasters down on your civilization, altering the map as volcanoes spew lava, floods wash away the land and earthquakes cause mountains to rise and crumble. Each God will have their own signature disaster. Pray too much to Zeus and Poseidon may get angry, and wash away your coastal settlements with a terrible storm! The core gameplay of Critias Empire, along with the majority of the art, UI and music/sound have all already been completed. The game will be balanced during the remainder of 2022, as well as having more features and disasters added before full release in early 2023. We also aim to translate the game into a number of languages before launch, with more to be added after as well, though exactly which ones are still to be decided.
