We're finally back!

The past two months have been a tumultuous time for us here in whatoplay. Desperate to plug leaks in our finances, we made the painful decision to shrink our staff to the very bare minimum. This meant having to abandon our tradition of sharing weekly game recommendations.

But we're bringing it back. :)

The rules are simple:

For me, it's Loddlenaut! It's a simple clean-up adventure game on the PC. Cute, vibrant, and fun.

Recommend a Game: Nov 20 to 26, 2023

Video games are being released mostly every day, and sometimes we are getting overwhelmed with how much choices of games we wanted to play but barely get the games we play. There are times that we could not play the games we wanted to play due to limited hardware to run the game.

I always wanted to play Gears of War 4 and Halo 5, but I do not have an Xbox One or any Xbox Series hardware. If you suggest to play in on a PC, I am sorry but I use my PC as productive tool. Also, I wanted to play Nights of Azure 2 on the Nintendo Switch, but the system cannot handle the game. Best advice from a friend is to play that game on PlayStation4 instead.

What reason that hold you back in order to play that specific game?

What are your favorite Windows 7/8 era games? I just received an old laptop that is equipped with Windows 8.1.  So I decided that since I never played any games of that Era, I would go through the greatest hits catalog.

I recommend playing [CRYMACHINA ](https://whatoplay.com/switch/crymachina/)for the Nintendo Switch. If you have played the game called [CRYSTAR](https://whatoplay.com/switch/crystar/), this is the sequel of the game (or so they say). Similar to [NIER: AUTOMATA](https://whatoplay.com/switch/nierautomata-the-end-of-yorha-edition/), this game is an Action-RPG. This may be a hidden gem if you miss this out.

Second, I recommend you to play [MARVEL'S SPIDER-MAN 2](https://whatoplay.com/ps5/marvels-spider-man-2/) for the PlayStation5. Sony has outdone their system with a great game this year. Hopefully, they will make more games like this (I am talking to you [INSOMNIAC GAMES](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Insomniac_Games)).

Recommend a Game (October 23 to 29, 2023)

I'm not sure if this has been discussed before in here ,but hey, what's there to lose.

So here are my hopes and expectations for the latest MH entry.

1. Less old monsters and more new. I get that Rathalos and Rathian are like staples to the franchise. But I hope that if they ever have to bring back old monsters, just bring them back as their variants, subspecies or Apex. 
I am perfectly fine facing a Dreadking Rathalos or a Dreadqueen Rathian the moment I hit G-Rank without facing a normal Rathian or Rathalos.
2. A mix of both worlds. What I mean by this is having the same quality of life changes found in New World but the combat of Old World. MH4U was the last (and best) of the old world entries and it had perfect combat. No flashy gimmicks, wire bugs or hunter arts. Just the knowledge you have on what weapon you are using and the monsters moveset.
3. Bring seasons back. The first MH game I played was DOS. And the seasons really brought a whole new change on how you do hunts. Gathering points will change and different monsters/elders would show up on different seasons on specific maps. In some maps, a new entry or path will open depending on what season it is. 
4. Bring old end-game elder dragons back. Examples are Dalamadur, Dire Miralis, Gogmazios, Yama Tsukami, Ahtal-Ka, Akantor and Ukanlos. 
5. Bring tracking back. Yes, paintballs. I don't care if you hate it Fiver. Gathering is waaaay easier than it is back then. I don't see a reason to remove paintballs.
6. Bring back temperature pots. They were not an issue back then so I was puzzled as to why they removed it in Rise. 
7. Crossplay.
8. Underwater combat? Hmmm, I hated it back then in Tri. But its 2023/2024. I'm sure Capcom could make underwater combat fun.
9. A new weapon. There are hints during the 20th anniversary stream. But it could just be "smoke in the air" for all we know.  I have no idea as to what it might be. I hope it would be cool. And knowing Capcom, I wont be disappointed. 



And yeah, that my list of hopes and expectations for the newest MH entry. Wonder what yours are.

I recommend playing [Super Mario Bros. Wonder](https://whatoplay.com/switch/super-mario-bros-wonder/). I tried the game, and it feels different from the other Mario games. Most video game stores have a display stall where they demo the game, one of them is that game. Please check it out. It can accommodate 8 players at the same time. It may be fun when it comes to Party With Friends Game Night.

I would like to share this with your all because there are some websites that are having a FIRE SALE this week on all video games. But not all people will be going to get the sale. Check your local video game stores if they have one.

We are now in the digital age where physical games are not important. But some people prefer "subscription" based service where they can play their games on the provided service. Others are buying their games Day One either digital or physical. Most of us games are going to get their games when the price is right, if they are on sale, or someone will give us games.

I will hand this question to you. How do you purchase your games? Are you a subscription based" gamer? A DAY ONE purchase gamer? An "All Digital" lifestyle gamer? Or a "cheap" gamer? (That last one does not count, but that is up to you). :))

I recommend playing **[SHIN MEGAMI TENSEI V](https://whatoplay.com/switch/shin-megami-tensei-v/)** for the Nintendo Switch. I have put this on my 90% of my backlog shelf, and now I have the time to put more gameplay to this game. This game is a Pokémon-like game, but for adults. More demon summoning and more demon collecting, than monsters. I highly recommend you guys play this game, and WhaToPlayers reviews are 10 rated!

I'm stuck to playing AC6. I've been playing it for about a month, having clocked 50 hours on it. I'm the last chapter and I can't wait to finish the game. It really is a fun game to play. It can get frustrating but the pay off after each run is so rewarding.

Some games give a huge advantage to melee characters, but in other games, it's the other way around. It always depends on the video game itself as well as on your playstyle, and for me personally, I am much more of a melee type of gamer since I played countless roam positions on different MOBAs and I honestly enjoyed it. I tried playing range heroes, but reality slapped me that I should stick on using melee characters xD
