You might be aware of the recent news regarding Unity's revised pricing model for their game engine. They have introduced a royalty fee structure based on the number of installs for games using their engine. Is there anyone here who is a game developer? I'd love to hear your opinions on this.

I'm curious, what games do you specifically play on your phone?  Not on a tablet... just on a phone.

Ever since I got an iPad, I've been preferring to play mobile games on it than on my phone.  But there are just games that I prefer playing on a smaller screen.

A few I enjoy more on my phone are: **finity. ,  satisgame, like dino!,** and **nekograms**

For the vast number of games, we have bought in our lifetime, we all know that we each of us gamers have that special game that we always go back to. What game/s we always go back to when we just need that gaming fix. Some of you there go back to **PROJECT ZOMBOID**. Some are just wanting to hack their way back to Hyrule and play **HYRULE WARRIORS: AGE OF CALAMITY**. And others just want to play **DOTA 2** and make it a day.

For me, I always play **STREET FIGHTER 2: HYPER FIGHTING EDITION**. Every Street Fighter fan knows the game, and most of them go back to play this game because of their root history of the game. What game do you always go back to?

There are soo many streamers right now and, at least for the most popular ones, they seem to have plenty enough people in their chats. Makes me wonder how many streamers avid viewers usually watch. It's Monday again, which means we released a new batch of changes to the site.

The fixes and additions this week were focused on the Listing (Best, New, Upcoming) and Profile Pages.

Game Entries now have actions, allowing you to more conveniently add reviews and update your collection.

You can also start creating posts wherever you are on the website using the "Add" button on the Navigation Bar.

In response to feedback from Jezreel, the Profile Page now features a simple "Stats" section. Currently, it displays the number of games you have marked "Owned," your wishlisted games, and the combined number of your Ratings and Reviews. In the future, we plan on merging the Reviews and Ratings tab into one.

Last week, we found more than a few bugs on the game page review form we released last week. These have been addressed in this week’s updates, along with a few more tweaks to the Review flow.

- New and Top tabs added. New displays posts by date added. Top displays discussions with the latest replies.
- Image display fixed. Wide images now fit to page. No more maximum height for vertical images. 

Other changes

- Fixed upload image error. Error messages for uploads have been updated
- GIF uploads have been disabled.
- You can now add images up to 20MB.



Whatoplay Changes 9/04

The rules are simple:

As with last week, I still recommend Armored Core VI (PC). I've been playing it over the weekend and is very much stuck at the first boss (Balteus). I've wasted close to 3 hours trying to defeat it. The closest I got was <15% of its life left and this happened twice.

This week, I'll try different builds that will match my play-style. I'm gonna kill it soon!

Movies with superb stories and magnificent visuals are rare and converting them into a video game will totally give excitement to everybody. What movie do you think will gather most players once its video game adaptation will be release out in the market?

Pakistan's player Atif defeated our PH representative during the final round of the IESF Tekken 7 tournament. AK did his best and even used his signature hero Shaheen, but Atif's Akuma overwhelmed our country's representative and ended the match with a 5-2 result.

Team Sibol secured the gold medal on the recently concluded 15th IESF world championship MLBB tournament held at Romania and proved again that PH meta is not yet out of the equation. It is indeed another pride for our country and again, we can still say that "Pinas pa rin malakas".

With the rise of games as a service, It seems like more and more new games are hitting the market in an unfinished state. They either don't have all the features promised or they're filled with bugs.

To me, this feels like a bad trend. It's like these companies are getting lazy, knowing they can just update the game later instead of making sure it's good to go from day one.

What's your take on this? Do you feel it's acceptable for gamers to pay full price for a game that isn't finished? Do you believe that gamers should get a fully completed product for their money?

If you are an MLBB player, this question probably also popped out in your head. According to the data given in this link https://activeplayer.io/mobile-legends-bang-bang/ we can clearly see that from the average daily players last December 2022 which is 13, 459, 492, it narrowed down to only 5, 410, 519 last January 2023. This is also one of the concrete reasons why match making takes a longer time. In your opinion, is MLBB truly dying? What do you think are the reasons behind it?

The recent launch of FromSoftware's AC 6 has once again sparked discussions among gamers on social media, much like when Elden Ring was released. The debate often centers on whether their game engine needs an upgrade.

So, what's more important to you: **cutting-edge graphics** or **impactful art direction**? Have you ever found yourself enjoying a game that might not have the latest graphics but shines in its excellent artistry?

As for me, I appreciate the art direction in their games. They may not lead the industry in graphics, but they're among the best when it comes to artistry and visual style.

Graphics vs Art Direction

I'm playing Armored Core VI on the PC. Last night, I played it with HDR ON and everything was working fine. Today, when I loaded it, everything is just gray-ish. I restarted the game, restarted the PC. The only fix is disabling HDR ON under Graphics settings.

PC is close to 3 years old, with the RTX 3060, 16GB RAM, and Ryzen 5 3600XT. Monitor is an ASUS VG259QM

So I've been playing Armored Core VI (PC) lately and it's been fun. I'm still trying to be familiar with the mechanics but it's so much fun. It makes you feel like you're a real Gundam pilot. Even the way they glide, fly, and attack are very much like the Gundams you watch on TV.

There are a lot of PC Gamers here in this site but the Steam Deck has lately been collecting dust. Most of them have forgotten that they have a Steam Deck. Lately, I have been playing my Steam Deck after I have purchased a BIG 2TB SSD. I have been redownloading my games from Steam and playing them on my Deck. Currently, it is the closest thing I could play PC games on. My PC can run some great games, but I prefer putting my laptop as a productivity device than a gaming device. *(For those who handle more than 100,000 files, you know what I mean).*

I would love to see what games you can recommend on the Steam Deck. I am planning to get **ARMORED CORE VI: FIRES OF RUBICON** on the system since it runs good in it. The good thing about the Steam Deck is its portability. Playing Armored Core in handheld is a dream, even playing **FINAL FANTASY VII: REMAKE** is a dream come true. If you have a Steam Deck, what games have you been playing on the system? Have you even brought out your Steam Deck from its case?

FOR ALL STEAM DECK OWNERS!

I've played a lot of video games for the past few years, and I guess everybody has also noticed that some games have a lot of red flags. One thing I dislike about a game is if it relies too much on microtransactions. Some games offer it in order to give an edge to players who pay more, and this totally turns me off because it takes away my principle of playing a game fair and square.
