This was one of my few first roguelike games that i've finished and finishing this game took a lot of time and effort but once i saw the end title screen, i felt like all the time and effort was worth it. Which makes this game really amazing.

**Story:** Humans and Monsters is at war and the demon king was captured, you play as a skeleton you can change skulls, giving different powers and skills. And your goal is to capture the demon king back.

While doing so, you'll be faced with different enemies and bosses. With the first boss you'll face is a tree type of boss. And the graphics and details in the game is straight up amazing.

Once you start your adventure to capture the demon king, you'll enter a portal and once you enter, you'll have to kill a bunch of enemies and proceeding to the next portal, like any other rogue lite game.

The head and skull system is amazing, there are 100 skulls, so a few hundred skills in the game. There are also artifacts which gives you buff. There is a limit to how much you can equip. There are a lot of builds you can make which makes the game more fun to explore, which type of build you can go with different types of skulls.

**Dying and restarting over and over again:** It's a roguelike and you'll die a lot. There are NPCs that will help you in the game. These NPCs are located in the castle where you "live" and they will give you artifact and buffs for your next runs. There are also a skill tree which you can upgrade by using purple gems you can get in your run. It takes about 20-50 hours to complete the game depending on luck and skills (you mostly need luck)

**Skul's world is amazing.** And the more you progress, you'll get a cutscene of what's happening and there's a story to it. The pixel art graphics is so nice and clean. The story is so well written.

**Music:** The music in this game reminds me of undertale type of music and undertale's music is wonderful. And once a boss fight, the music progressively gets better the lower health the boss have which makes it amazing. And once you reach the last boss, the music gets so intense, especially when you're gonna die.

The more you progress, the bosses, enemies and map progressively gets more HD and cooler. And the enemies gets harder and harder, while the 2d combat system is quite dull for me. Once i played the game for about 15 hours in total, i got quite bored due to the combat system being quite repetitive. And once i reached the fourth boss, i got more excited to see what would happen next and the enemies types.

The last few hours of the game gets really, really hard. Even after trying of so many builds, I still couldn't beat the last boss. Until I found a broken build.

This game is really, really cool and hard. It just came out on consoles and it's really worth trying.

This review is quite short due to me trying to remember why i rated this game a 10. But after thinking for about 45 minutes, i was able to come out to this.

Skul is a fast-paced action rogue-lite where losing your head is encouraged.
Featuring 100 playable characters each with their own unique abilities and a ton of items that can create wild synergies, the battles are as electrifying as they are challenging.

The Demon King's Castle in Ruins
The human race attacking the Demon King's castle is nothing new and has happened countless times before.
What makes this time different though, is that the Adventurers decided to join forces with the Imperial Army and the 'Hero of Caerleon' to lead a full onslaught in hopes of wiping out the Demons once and for all.
They attacked the Demon stronghold with overwhelming numbers and succeeded in its total destruction. All of the demons in the castle were taken prisoner except for one lone skeleton named 'Skul'.
