Taking a look at Capcom Fighting Collection, it’s very clear that it does exactly what it set out to do – you’ve got superb versions of ten arcade classics here, several of which are significantly difficult to play elsewhere. The online play works beautifully, with efficient menus letting you switch games in the lobby.

Capcom is to be applauded for providing yet another superb compendium of seminal fighting games. Having the entire Darkstalkers series in one place is something of a coup, and bothering to include some deep cuts and arcade-perfect ports, as well as an online mode with lag-free rollback netcode (and the ability to play solo during matchmaking), makes this a pretty comprehensive and thorough walk through some of Capcom's finest arcade moments.

Capcom Fighting Collection isn’t the definitive collection of Capcom’s best fighting games, but it does bring together a respectable assortment of them, several of which were never available on console or in the US. Capcom has put out several collections in recent years that are great for checking out classics you may have missed the first time around and revisiting old favorites from the golden age of Arcade gaming, and this makes a nice addition to their retro collections if you want to spend a weekend checking out some of their fighters that aren’t limited to Street Fighter.
