A retro-inspired, first-person spellcaster game is coming soon to PC. And it's one where players can create their own adventures.

Wizordum, an upcoming fantasy FPS, will launch on Steam via Early Access this November 15, its creators announced. It is being developed by Emberheart Games, a Slovenia-based indie studio. Apogee Entertainment will serve as its publisher.

Wizordum is inspired by ‘90s fantasy FPS classics like Hexen and Heretic. Developers from Emberheart Games described their project as their love letter to these nostalgic games.

I have always loved fantasy FPS titles like Hexen and Heretic, said Primož Vovk, developer of Emberheart Games. Wizordum is my tribute to those games, with a modern twist and some new features. I am very excited to share it with the world and see what people think of it, he added.

The game is set in the fictional kingdom of Terrabruma. There, an ancient seal has been broken, unleashing the spawns of Chaos. Players will take the role of one of the last surviving Mages of Wizordum Sanctuary. As Mages, they must find the source of Chaos and stop it before it consumes the whole realm.

Throughout the game, players can explore dangerous dungeons, solve puzzles, and collect loot. And with their characters' ability to wield steel and magic, they must also wade through hordes of enemies.

For its Early Access version, developers from Emberheart Games said Wizordum will contain the entire first episode. This included secret and bonus levels, they said.

The game will also have an in-game level editor tool. It will allow players to create custom levels or episodes and even share them online with other players.

In the meantime, interested players can still access Wizordum's latest demo version. It has the first two levels of the first episode.

In addition to that, there are countless updates and fixes like new lighting, accessibility options (with more to come), a new weapon, a save/load system, a level selection and progression system, and so much more! developers said.

The Early Access edition of Wizordum will be priced at U$14.99. / ###
