Akatsuki Games Inc. has officially opened pre-registration for TRIBE NINE, an action-packed single-player gacha RPG set in a dystopian “Neo Tokyo” universe.
Developed in collaboration with the creators of the acclaimed Danganronpa series, while there is no Monokuma here, this new title invites players to join a group of brave teens fighting to reclaim their dreams in a world where survival hinges on mastering deadly games.
In a world overtaken by the mysterious ‘Zero,’ this masked figure created a twisted game about survival. As an act of defiance, teenagers rebel and form a resistance, using Extreme Baseball to challenge the tyrants.
Gameplay involves a mix of exploration, strategy and fast-paced combat. It does not share Danganronpa’s visual novel style format. Instead, players can navigate through HD-2D reconstructions of iconic Tokyo locales, uncover hidden treasures, solve puzzles, and assist the city’s inhabitants.
Unlike Danganronpa’s linear exploration, each district in TRIBE NINE is rife with opportunities for discovery. Exploration is highly encouraged during downtime.
Building a party of three unique characters, players engage in dynamic 3D battles where ally units act independently, performing actions like healing, crowd control, and setting up combo attacks. Like all Gacha games, all characters can be leveled up. The pace of progression depends whether players prefer spending real-life money or grinding for extra resources.
TRIBE NINE is an original IP developed by Too Kyo Games, led by Kazutaka Kodaka of Danganronpa, their most popular franchise ever. Aside from the game, the TRIBE NINE universe has expanded into other media, including an anime series and a WEBTOON comic.
Players who pre-register will unlock exclusive in-game rewards upon the game’s official release, including a limited character skin and essential starter supplies. More details on these rewards are available on the game’s official website.
TRIBE NINE will be available on the iOS App Store and Google Play Store. Players can start pre-registering to prepare themselves for the inevitable extreme games. The game will also be available on Steam for PC users. No release date yet.
