Ubisoft, the French video gaming giant, is dropping a new Prince of Persia game. And no, it is not the much-awaited remake of The Sands of Time. Instead, it will be a different take on the hit gaming franchise.
During the Summer Game Fest live showcase on June 12, Ubisoft announced the development of Prince of Persia™: The Lost Crown.
The latest addition to the Prince of Persia series is a side-scrolling action platformer. The game will be available on all platforms. It can also be played via Amazon Luna.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown will launch on January 14, 2024. Unlike most Prince of Persia titles, The Lost Crown will have players on a quest to rescue the titular Prince Ghassan. They will take control of a young hero named Sargon, a member of an elite group called The Immortals.
As Sargon, they will explore Mount Qaf, a hostile and cursed place, to save Prince Ghassan. Along the way, they can expect not only different biomes. According to developers, the game will also feature puzzles and boss fights.
By acquiring new time powers, unlocking unique abilities, and combining them in combat, Sargon will progressively delve deeper into Mount Qaf, solving puzzles, finding secrets, and completing exciting side quests,
Ubisoft said.
The Lost Crown will also introduce some popular Persian Mythology characters. Players may find themselves in "intense and engaging" combat against Jahandar, the Manticore, and the guardian of the Citadel.
Players will be able to express their creativity in a deep and engaging combat system to trigger devastating combos,
the developers added.
Ubisoft has already started accepting pre-orders for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
