Another classic board game will be hitting Xbox consoles soon. Marmalade Game Studio announced that they would bring The Game of Life 2 to Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
The Game of Life 2 is the first of the Hasbro classics to be ported to Xbox devices. Marmalade also said that the game's Xbox version would support cross-platform play. However, the publisher has yet to reveal its target launch date. So far, The Game of Life 2 for Xbox has been priced at US$ 23.99.
Executives from the London-based gaming company said "overwhelming reception from fans" prompted them to expand The Game of Life 2 to more platforms.
(The game) has met an overwhelming reception from fans around the world,
said Michael Willis, co-CEO of Marmalade Game Studio. And we're excited to bring the game to Xbox Series S|X and Xbox One,
he added.
Willis also said the game's popularity among the younger demographics drove them to develop it for Microsoft's gaming console. And with this Xbox release, we know we'll be helping more friends and families to connect through the games they love. And that means everything to us,
he added.
The Game of Life 2 is the sequel to the hit family board game first created in 1860 by Milton Bradley. The American multinational company Hasbro, known for making toys and other licensed merchandise, later acquired the Milton Bradley Company.
The Game of Life 2 includes new crossroads and up-to-date choices.
The game's digital version is currently available for Android, iOS, PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PS5. In it, choices like educational courses and careers, come to life in 3D. It also features multiple modes. These include "Open Online Multiplayer", "Private Online Multiplayer", "Offline Local Multiplayer", and "Offline Single Player".
