Teardown, a hit voxel-based sandbox heist game, is looking to expand its player base this year. Tuxedo Labs confirmed that Teardown would be ported to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in late 2023.

Teardown will launch on the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S later this year, they wrote in a press release.

The Swedish indie game studio partnered with American video game publisher Saber Interactive for the rollout. Tuxedo Labs, however, has yet to reveal more details about its release, including its target launch date.

Tuxedo Labs' announcement came after PlayStation Showcase 2023 revealed up-and-coming titles, which included Teardown. They also dropped a trailer to show PlayStation and Xbox players what they can expect.

The award-winning simulation's PlayStation 5 and Xbox versions will include all of the content from its PC counterpart. Console players have access to a curated collection of PC-based community mods. They can also access its expansion pack, the Art of Vandals.

On the other hand, developers revealed they overhauled its user interface to support console specs. This means players can use PS5's DualSense controllers for the game.

Teardown was first released for PC in 2022. The sandbox, voxel-style game then became a hit. Gamers and critics alike praised its 'simple but challenging' approach to the sandbox genre. The game also garnered multiple accolades. These included Best Sandbox at the PC Game's "Game of the Year Awards 2022." Teardown also bagged the "Excellence in Design" award during the Independent Games Festival 2021.

More than a million copies of Teardown have been sold on Steam as of May, according to Tuxedo Labs.
